Gave birth to dd2 4.5 months ago and since then I have lost 2st2lbs of the 3st I put on in pg. I would like to be slimmer than I was when I conceived though, so ideally have about 22lbs left to go.
It would really help me to have a pal or two to chivvy me along.
Any takers?

Enjoy the fish pie dinny and we'll hope for the best on Wednesday and even better next wednesday. have a good evening

dinny · 06/06/2005 19:30

thanks hon! really have to get a grip - have finalised my return to work as 26 July. HAVE to lose at least 2 stone by then!

chicagomum · 07/06/2005 02:36

sitting here eating a righteous meal of steamed fish, steamed potatoes and asparagus trying not to think about the tub of ben and jerrys calling my name from the freezer. dh is stuck in detroit due to grounded flights in new york (long story) and i spent 5 hours last night pacing the floor with ds with his first episode of teething, (i guess it's my come-uppance for dd getting all her teeth with not a peep. Trouble is by the time i've got kids to bed and cooked a meal there's no-one online to have a chat with due to the time difference. Hope the diets going well for everyone, catch you weds.

lunachic · 07/06/2005 10:49

RIGHT! todays the day i pigged last night and i feel so bad this morn i know ive got to 'clean up my diet'
its the first time in my life i feel like i need to detox (skins a mess feel bloated..) but im a bit scared thing ill build up to it -has anyone done a detox ....whats it like?
ive got the carol vord detox book so i suppose thats a start !

applemummy · 07/06/2005 18:36

Lunachic hope you've had a good day and are feeling better. I have a friend who loves the Carol Vorderman detox and has done it a few times..not my cup of tea as a bit drastic but quite good for kick starting things and it certainly worked for Carol!

Having a good day myself as did Body Pump last night and walked to preschool for collection of ds2 and then mowed the lawn! Feeling exhausted now but maybe tomrorrow weigh in won't be so bad....

KBear · 07/06/2005 20:42

Is our friend majorie (sassy) around for a pep talk? I think some of us need it - applemummy, lay off the penguins - that made me LOL!! I have been averagely sensible this week but did have a curry on Saturday night. If it weren't for curries we'd all be stone lighter but they are so delish !!

Anyway good luck for tomorrow everyone!

dinny · 07/06/2005 20:49

I may skive off the weigh-in! Too depressing to get on scales! Am a heifer!

KBear · 07/06/2005 22:56

dinny, be strong, face your demons....!!!

ScrewballMuppet · 07/06/2005 23:03

We'll be fine, weigh in take the news good or bad and either learn from what went wrong the past week or carry on doing more of it if have lost weight.

I have been very naughty and not looking forward tomorrow but this week has been a learning curve to say the least.

dinny · 08/06/2005 06:40

oh no, Wednesday! will brave the scales later (maybe....)!

dinny · 08/06/2005 06:58

right - just weighed myself. have put on TWO POUNDS (great ) surprised it's not more actually. so am 10.7!

Marjorie, need motivation, back at work in 7 weeks!

applemummy · 08/06/2005 09:40

Ok so its 10 stone 3 so up 1lb on last week which I am ok with after my penguin and curry fest and way too much wine while we were away.

That's it now - time to get serious and shift those pounds. Have just walked ds1 and ds2 to school and pushed ds3 in the buggy which always makes me feel virtuous as there is a big hill for me to climb there and back. I think it really is all about eating less and moving more so we'll see how next week goes..

So running total from dinny and me is up 3lbs..someone must have done better......

lunachic · 08/06/2005 09:56

10st ish (one pound less) on my mums crappy scales need to get it checked -no doubt ill be heavier if i do (think last time it came out at 10.4st
have started working towards 'detox' given up dairy and red meat to start with'and drinking lots more fruit/herb teas instead of usual t&c
kept it up yesterday feel much better already !!

lunachic · 08/06/2005 09:58

hey applemum well done you only put on one pounds thats not too bad--considering the amount you ate !!!!!!!!!

woowoo · 08/06/2005 10:15

Weighed in this morning and am 9st 5.5lbs that is just over 4lbs since 16 May. My problem is keeping it off.

KBear · 08/06/2005 10:33

I stayed the same but I expected it really.

This week we are going for it - we all need to walk more (fast - pushing the pram too), it's going to be hot so lots of salads, make them interesting with sprinkley bits and low fat dressings, have a no potatoes week or a no bread week, or in applemummy's case a no penguin week LOL!!!!.

Let's keep each other motivated - if I think you lot are on my case I will be sensible.

Hark at me, the new majorie!!!

applemummy · 08/06/2005 11:35

I must not eat penguins
I must not eat penguins
I must not eat penguins

Right off to collect ds2 and walking...again!!

Agree with kbear..am going to have a very very good week..10 stone or under here I come!

Surfermum · 08/06/2005 11:42

4lb lost for me! Now 12 stones exactly. Having a cold and very little appetite might have helped, but it's really motivated me.

Keep at it everyone! I've decided that I'm going to have a treat day on Saturdays, and have chips and doughnuts and eat whatever I want ... oh and have a drink. Then back to normal on the other days.

My other unintentional but smart move was to tell the lady in the canteen at work that I'm dieting. Now, bless her, everytime I go in she asks me how it's going and gives me a little pep talk, so I end up going for for a healthy option rather than the chips.

marjoriedawessassy · 08/06/2005 11:50

Oi Kbear, who do you think you are? Interloper !
Well ladies, we have some successes and some not-so-successes this week..i myself have lost 1lb.
However, there are a number of people who need to stand in the naughty corner - step forward dinny, applemummy; tsk, tsk.
(Can't do this telling people off malarkey, we need someone like cod for that)
Will put up scores tomorrow when more people have had chance to weigh in.Also top tip of the week for you then.
I know i'm in for a bad week his week - thurs is dh's birthday so curry, wine and cake will be putting in an appearance, and we're away at another wedding over the weekend. Am dreading next week's weigh-in!

KBear · 08/06/2005 14:09

Just rallying the troops in your absence your Marjorie-ship. Sorry to over step mark ma-am. Won't happen again ma'am.

Just cos you lost a 1lb....

chicagomum · 08/06/2005 14:52

feel guilty to report 5lb lose this week, due mainly to dh being away for part of the week on business so i can't be bithered to cook - just salads/fruit and simple steam foods, and have been up the last 3 nights for half the night with ds teething (don't know why but i seem to loose more weight when i don't get enough sleep)

chicagomum · 08/06/2005 14:53

this puts me at 10st 6lb (still about 1 stone to go)

Lucymoo · 08/06/2005 15:49
