To those who have succeeded on Paul Mckenna does it ever get easy to eat consciously?

I have seen some old threads where people have done well using PM system - are you still following the rules and is it easy to eat consciously now?

TIA

PS - Did anyone go to the seminar on saturday?

Yes. No.

I lost a lot of weight and then got pregnant and gained some and I've just lost it again very easily. I think after the first 90 days it's easy. But the first 90 days are the tough bit. Because you are trying to retrain your brain.

I have watched the recent series. Have seen it before. Never really 'truley' implemented it. But believe it CAN work. Becasue it is a way of life rather than a 'diet'.

whomovedmychocolate · 26/01/2009 16:52

Where is the recent series being shown?

TheFirstLiffey · 26/01/2009 16:53

My friend did this and now she swears that she cna't stand the feeling of being full. Iwouldn't say she's thin now!!!! but she's only a stone overweight now, probably was 3 at one point.

I am having problems working out if I am really hungry and I really want to sit down with the newspaper when I have my lunch!

Also last night I had a glass wine while watching the telly - not drinking consciously I suppose but not glugging down unconsciously either.

And did you eat till you were full or until you were no longer hungry - a bit scared to eat until I'm full as that's likely to be a lot of food

I think the recent series was on Living

dalek - I ate till I don't feel hungry but that's not the same as eating till you are so full you feel sick. You need to trust yourself. Your body knows what the difference is between 'had enough' and 'stuffed'. I know it took me a few weeks to get to the point where I believed I could stop and you know what's weird, now I don't even think about it, I just stop automatically.

Having said, I find the 90 day journal hugely helpful because it forces me to think about it every day.

Strange side effects though - I've discovered I don't really like chocolate at all and I can't stomach the idea of fried foods either

Tis a bit of a PITA because DH eats crap all the time so now we end up cooking several meals!

dalek · 26/01/2009 17:03

Are you still using the 90 day journal?

Yep. Started again a few weeks ago. Now DS is six months and starting on solids I think it's time I lost all the baby weight - so I've been doing it for ooh three weeks tomorrow - I've lost over a stone and I have another to go.

dalek · 26/01/2009 17:06

wow - that's fantastic - you've definitely inspired me - good luck with the last bit.

Mariasinger - I stick the tracks on my ipod and put them on when I got to bed - I simply fall asleep with it on and it works. It seems to have a greater effect like that than if I put it on just for a bit in the daytime. Have you tried this?

Yes it would be great if we could make this a support thread - hope you don't mind WMMC.

I too listen last thing at night and I rarely wake at the end

I don't think you can listen too much tbh.

It has a sort of 'thought for the day' and then a checklist of 'I ate when I was hungry', ' I ate what I really wanted', 'I stopped when I was full', 'I drank water', 'I moved my body', 'I did the mirror exercise'

One positive thing I noticed today

And what I am looking forward to tomorrow.

I have mine on my ipod, I think DS thinks mummy naturally has wires coming out of her ears - he snores!

Yes you are. Get some bloody pjs with a pocket, stick the ipod in it and trail the wires under your shirt if you are that worried!

CAT me - and I'll talk you through it all!

Hiya. can i join in? so glad I found this thread, I ordered the book off amazon last night and a support thread would be great.

My dd is 7 months old and I put 2 stone on whilst pregnant and its not shifted, I wasnt slim to start with though, but im just takling the 2 stone first.

Im booked for an operation to repair my bits after a traumatic birth at the end of feb and im worried that all the time off work and lazing about recovering will end up with me putting more weight on through comfort eaing so need to take control of myself.

Anyway sorry to ramble on but good luck all and I cant wait to get the book.
