Morning everyone. I joined Slimming World last Thursday, so this is day 3. I have well over 5 stone to loose but I am taking it a stone at a time. I'd love to join your 5 stn + club to give me a bit more motivation and someone to talk to when I feel a "chocolate moment" coming on. My DH is doing the diet too, as he needs to loose about 3 stn. He is down stairs as we speak cooking breakfast for everyone, poached egg and bacon, bless him.

shinyshoes · 11/01/2009 13:21

Welcome Tas1. We will coax you out of those choccie moments, don't you worry

Jaz. I know what it feels like, I've been good all week apart from the blowout, but I managed to claw back the points, the thing is the excersise, it's too cold . Hopefully there will still be a weigt loss tomorrow, albeit a samll one.

happynewRia · 11/01/2009 15:10

hi taz1. which SW plan are you doing? I am going to try the new plan from tomorrow (someone has lent me it) Am looking forward to no quorn!

Tas1 · 11/01/2009 15:22

Hi Happynewria, I'm trying the new plan where you can eat free foods from both red and green days, 1 a option and 1 b option plus 5-15 syns (taking the lowest syn value of red/green items).

I have done SW before, about 5 yrs ago and I lost 4.5 stn. On the old plan I tend to use more green days than red as I love pasta, rice, potato etc but not bothered if I have meat or not.

I like Quorn burgers and sausages but cant stand the mince.

The new plan seems great as the whole family can have it and it saves cooking two meals.

Let me know how you get on.

happynewRia · 11/01/2009 16:12

I Like the sausages and spicy fillets too. You don't have to have both sets of free food at every meal do you? (ie, am thinking of a nice veg and lentil soup for lunch, but wouldn't want meat with it)
It is the idea of being able to cook a meal where I can have the same as the kids that appeals.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 11/01/2009 16:14

Having a crap day, too much alcohol, huge row with DH (ok 5 mins but for us huge row)

Suggestions please

2 nights away, Wed and Thurs (but not written in stone) just me, Cotswolds

RGPargy · 11/01/2009 19:24

Hi everyone. had a horrendous night last night with DD as she decided to wake up at 3.45am and i tried for the next 2 hours to get her back off to sleep again but she decided that sitting up in her cot and talking to mummy was the better option. I even took her in with us at one point but she spent the next hour poking us in the eyes and trying to sit up and begin the day. In the end i managed to put her back in her cot but no sooner was i starting to drift back off to sleep she woke up crying again!! AAGGHH!! Think she might have been too hot as it was slightly sauna-esque in her bedroom last night. At that point i decided to just get up with her and wait for DP to get up so that he could take over. I eventually went to bed a tearful wreck at 9.30am lol. Oh well!

Well Tas! You're more than welcome to join the gang! the more the merrier

Had a bit of a bad day yesterday. All was going well until DP suggested getting a curry. So we had the curry PLUS some left over crappy xmas chocs. My will power went out the window!

OP posts:
MyTakenIdentity · 11/01/2009 21:09

crappy chocs don't count RG - if you didn't enjoy you didn't eat hope your curry was good. I was . sorry you had a crap night.

I'm sure there's a link - how many of us (if you don't mind me asking) were struggling with our weight before we had DCs and all the associated stresses?

Before DS1 was born I was a size 14/16 (who was convinced I was fat - silly cow) and had depressive issues, plus a liking for Guinness by the pint and junk food. But my weight was pretty stable. It took me ages to shift the weight I put on with him (it has started coming off when I got PG with DS2 6 years later but even then was only up to 18/20. I have not shifted any of DS2s baby weight, or DS3s or the "extra")

what suggestions are you after five? Enjoy yourself! is all I can come up with. I thik 5 mins is enough for an argument if you aren't an arguey type couple.

tis Ria BTW, I am having an identity crisis.

jaz236 · 12/01/2009 10:56

Morning ladies hello tas1, well its day one of diet and ive walked and walked and walked tday.
so disgusted with myself with the weight adn dont want it to be an issue at the end of this year! so im going to try my dammed hardest to shift it all!

MyTakenIdentity · 12/01/2009 14:06

mrshammond · 12/01/2009 15:54

Had a crap weekend. Ate KFC, chocolate biscuits and chips!

I really thought I had cracked it before christmas. Now I am back in all my old habbits - picking while I cook, eating kids leftovers.

I could kick myself - aaaaargh!

MyTakenIdentity · 12/01/2009 17:03

bloody weekends!

I am cooking a mahoosive spag bol, for this new SW plan. I am so looking forward to it. Haven't felt hungry or felt like "cheating" yet today... despite stress that I am hoping will have gone away quiet soon...

shinyshoes · 12/01/2009 20:16

Weigh in was tonight.

4.5lb OFF still a few more stone to go but it's going the right way.

I am aiming to lose 3lb this week that will take me to a nice round ** stone then it will be 2lb a week from then on.

One step at a time though, I have treated myself to a Twix, my points allowed it, good job really they are 6 points

MyTakenIdentity · 12/01/2009 21:13

well done shinyshoes

FiveGoMadInDorset · 13/01/2009 09:42

Ria - this week -2lb/total loss -2lb
FGMID - this week 2lb/total loss - 2lb

jaz236 · 13/01/2009 11:49

well done shiny shoes, theres a free week trial diet thing on the sw website - going to try it!

just been for long walk with baby and drank water now adn going to have mushrooms and salad - still craving bread though, does sw allow bread? is this on green days anyone?

MyTakenIdentity · 13/01/2009 14:10

bread is a HEB on red or green days jaz, or on the new plan. You can have 2 slices from a 400g loaf or 3 slices of nimble wholemeal.

shinyshoes · 13/01/2009 15:21

Thanks all
Just been for a looooong walk with the dog, came home, prepared dinner for tonight, pointed it, it's bloody massive it's the bloody minced beef that's high in points, it's a good job i've not had much to eat today.I'm annoyed it's so much but I am craving some stodge so it's the price you pay I suppose. Will have to rethink next time I want shepherds pie

RGPargy · 13/01/2009 16:00

hi everyone

Weighed myself yesterday at home and i've lost 4.5lb since last week! My scales are the same as the WW scales so i'm pretty happy with that!

Sorry i haven't been on much - am in the middle of trying to flog my baby carriers and gazing longingly at a new one i want!! Cant buy it without the sale of the other two tho! Bugger!

Anyone wanna buy a mei tai?!

MyTakenIdentity · 13/01/2009 17:17
