Finishing pregnancy the same weight you started is fantastic deafworm!

I'm now lighter (5 months later) than when I got pg. Mind you, at 9 months pg I was still 20 pounds lighter than at my heaviest iykwim!

Should I ever be lucky enough to get pg again, I think I will still follow sw. I do miss my afternoon scones though, not to mention the many slices of white toast smothered in marg and lemon curd...

It's dh's birthday tomorrow, so will cook him a nice dinner but will have to be naughty and eat a piece of cake for pud. I'm hoping for a good loss this week after putting on a pound last week. I need to start the countdown to Xmas and losing that stone!

RIAlityBites · 21/09/2009 12:54

OK, when do we have our official Xmas countdown start date? (not today please, had a fry-up at the supermarket)

The day I came home from hospital with DS3 I was lighter than when I got PG, sadly it was the 2 stone I gained while BF that was the main problem.

good luck with the CD wormy.

RGPargy · 21/09/2009 18:25

mmmmm toast and lemon curd..... heaven!!! You must eat cake tomorrow bee. If it's a birthday then it's the law!!!

So when shall we start our xmas countdown? How about next Monday? Start of a new week and all that?? What do you all reckon?

OP posts:
RIAlityBites · 21/09/2009 19:12

Monday's OK with me, though we should start on the 24th, then it's 3 months to xmas eve.

My goal for now is to lose 5lb, then I'm treating myself to some of that new Sanctuary stuff that Boots have - black pepper and something.

RGPargy · 21/09/2009 20:34

24th sounds good to me and three months is plenty of time to lose a stone!

Good luck with the 5lbs Ria!

does everyone else agree with 24th September as a start date? That's THIS Thursday!!

Thanks RG it went better today and im quite pleased at it making sense, time will tell though.

Thanks Bee, i think sticking with sw through pregnancy is a good plan and have seen others do it, unfortunately as i fell pregnant my (now) middle child started fitting and was diagnosed with epilepsy and i moved house a couple of hundred miles away so my brain space was all used up! i did try to stick to some of the principles though and still do a bit so im crediting them with my weight at the end of the pregnancy.

and Thanks Riality (hope i havent missed anyone) still havent got to the cd, getting 30 clear minutes is like hens teeth at the moment. I will get there one day but probably not this week my youngest 2 get christened on sunday and i move house in 4 weeks, its chhaos here!

id like to join in the countdown though not sure i have a target, perhaps to be at the next full stone by christmas, ive already found aquafit in the next town and theres a creche so cant wait to get going on that again and it should really help shift the weight. 24th sounds good to me.

RIAlityBites · 21/09/2009 22:41

whereabouts are you wormy? sounds lilke you had plenty of other things to think about when PG, so extra credit to you for doing so well.

Is a stone by xmas realistic for those of us me who don't always try that hard? I wouldn't like to be the one to fail anyone to feel under pressure or be disappointed

I CAN AND WILL DO IT!!!!!!! (I have probably already said this, but I don't think setting the wedding as a goal really helped, because looking at the bigger picture, it was such a small goal that -although it would have been an achievement - it wouldn't have made much difference to how I feel)

Got an exercise bike off freecycle tonight. DH looked at me in that special way he has when he collected it. (I have given my treadmill and lateral thigh trainer to my uncle who is setting up a fitness room in his shed - it seems he isn't even building his Santas grotto in there this year - my aunt has MS and I think he thinks he needs to be at home to as his role as carer is going to be increased, and he needs to be fit. Also I think it gives him a break and an outlet to go out there and take it out on the machines. Bless him. He is my favourite uncle.) Am not sure how to go about "it". Do I go for distance or time? To start with I was thinking maybe 15 mins a day?

Sorry, am rambling a bit tonight, but DH is watching his stuff on the TV and it doesn't interest me.

deafworm · 22/09/2009 08:22

currently in the west midlands, off to north yorkshire next though.

im not convinced a stone is realistic for me so im going with my own target which is about 7lbs i think but depends what the wii says i weigh on thursday.

not sure its any help with the exercise bike but i cycle and would say the work you put in is probably more important than the time. i cycle with my two older ones in the trailer and baby attached (yes i am insane) but only do relatively short distances at the moment however im noticing a huge difference in muscle tone in my legs. your uncle sounds like a very caring man.

RIAlityBites · 22/09/2009 11:11

ooh, where in God's Own County north yorkshire Wormy? (just a rough idea if you don't want to give too much away)

it will be very gentle cycling for me to start with!

RGPargy · 22/09/2009 16:42

AFternoon ladies!

I think a stone by xmas for me is doable if i try really hard and stop drinking during the week lol. Obviously we all know whether our goals are achievable or not so if we keep it realistic then we wont be disappointed, eh?!

Ria as for cycling, if it were me, i would hop on the bike at the beginning of Eastenders (or whatever) and then get off at the end of it. Many a time when i've been on the x-trainer at the gym my programme has ended and i've been disappointed because i wanted to carry on watching the telly in front of me!!

I upgraded my gym membership today so i can now go anytime i like, rather than just between 9.30 and 4pm during the week and after 2.30pm at weekends. Means i can do all the classes i want to and have the option of going in the evening if i miss it during the day. Yippee!!

WW before and after photos on profile

Still want to lose another stone as off on a cruise at Christmas and would like new clothes to be a bit big, so I can at what I want then

RGPargy · 22/09/2009 20:13

Wow you look fantastic!! Well done!!

OP posts:
deafworm · 22/09/2009 21:10

well done Shoshe, cant open your pics but 5 stone is a huge achievement.

the combining exercise with a program is a good idea, i occasionally do free step on the wii fit and do it for 30 minutes to fit with a program, see from these messages i sound like i should be really fit, unfortunately im a bit hit and miss doing them! will be in Whitby Ria, no idea what im going to find there beyond a few little bits of info but its all an adventure!

RIAlityBites · 22/09/2009 21:35

well done Shoshe you look fab!

excellent wormy - fancy a meet-up sometime? I live about 40 mins away down the coast. I love Whitby. Will you be there in time for the Goth weekend? There's a forestry commission place about 20mins away with cycle tracks and nice walks. Pickering is close-by too with the steam railway (and wartime weekend). The countryside is fab too.

kristinaRIAnoff · 22/09/2009 23:42

This is not a helpful thing to tell you wormy, but there is a bakers in Whitby (2 shops I know of, one in town where all the banks are, and one at the top of the hill - don't know the street names, sorry) called Elizabeth Botham's and they do the most gorgeous thing ever called Whitby Gingerbread. A buttered slice with a cup of tea is just the thing!(my mum used to bake something similar when I was little, so I usually buy a loaf or two when we visit. Especially at christmas). I hope you are happy there. There's a nice forestry place in Guisborough too. During this summer we walked with the kids along an old disused railway line from a little village called Robin Hoods Bay up to Whitby. It's a good cycling track.

kristinaRIAnoff · 22/09/2009 23:49

your new gymn times sound good RG. Are you still at the one near work, or are you nearer home now? I took your advice and watched Strictly (hence new name) on Iplayer and managed 15 mins on the bike (though I had to put my specs on to be able to see properly!), it had the added bonus of all those thin fit people in pretty frocks to keep me focussed (though it's nice to see some of the celebs looking not-that-great in their outfits. It will be interesting to watch them change over the series, I believe they usually lose a couple of stone if they stay in for a while don't they?)

I probably sould give up the booze mid-week (or at least a bit). It's hard when DH doesn't work Mon-Weds though, as those are our evenings together (not so you'd notice), Thursday I feel like I've earned a treat by coping with the boys bedtime by myself, Fri & Sat are the weekend, and DH finishes early on Sunday, so we get Sunday night too. Maybe I could swap the drink for maltesers on a Thursday. I will be cutting down though as SW syns don't allow for too much.

Anyway, more or less back to it tomorrow as I took a SW lunch and dinner out of the freezer and they need eating!

grinningbee · 23/09/2009 08:24

Morning all!

Shoshe - 5 stone is fabulous! Well done

Permission to have started my countdown to Xmas already? The reason being we are going away for a long weekend next week with dh's mil... (oh why oh why oh why oh why!) to a caravan in Great Yarmouth. Therefore I need a head start as it will go to pot over that weekend. I would imagine that by the end of the first day I will be wanting to eat the entire cadbury factory

It was dh's birthday yesterday, so we had a bit of a naughty dinner. Turkey and cranberry sausages, wholegrain mustard mash, veg, stuffing and yorkshire pud. Followed by chocolate cake. And with a glass of wine... oh dear! It was nice though.

Back to sensible again today.

Anyway! I have lost 3 1/2 pounds this week which is pleasing. Another 3 and I'll have my first stone, but more importantly to me I'll go under the 200 pound mark for the first time in I dread to think how long.

My aim for Xmas is to have got to my club 10 which is another 11 3/4 pounds away.

Off to mop floors now. My life is so glam!

kristinaRIAnoff · 23/09/2009 10:51

well done 'bee

I can matchyour glamour - think I'm going to wash windows!

grinningbee · 23/09/2009 11:15

Ria

I've mopped, done a load of washing, washed up from last night (big pile of pots, yuck), washed and dried my hair, had brekky, sorted dd out (including total outfit change due to poo) and got her off for a nap.

And am now sitting here like a lemon waiting for a builder from the council to look at a damp problem. What's the betting he doesn't turn up...

Might go and make a cuppa!

grinningbee · 23/09/2009 11:16

And can someone pleeeeeease tell me that the remainder of chocolate birthday cake in the cupboard is a figment of my imagination

kristinaRIAnoff · 23/09/2009 13:38

gah, can't get on with anything. DH has gone off to do some extra work and DS3 wants to play in the bucket, and yells cos I won't let him.

Gt Yarmouth sounds nice, though no way could I be in a small space with my MIL for longer than an hour.

RGPargy · 23/09/2009 21:45

Evening ladies!

Ria - i'm now at a gym close to home - i gave up the work one aaaages ago! Thankfully that was a non-contractual membership too so i didn't worry too much when i didn't actually get round to going during working hours! My local one is much nicer than the work one because, although alot of people do know each other, it's very friendly and not too full of posers. Well done on using the bike!

Bee - your DH's birthday dinner sounds lovely! Well done on your loss this week too! Yay!

I am starting to ache today. Yesterday i went to a 15 mins abs class, followed by a body conditioning class. Then today i did step, which i found quite hard on my legs coz they were starting to ache from bodycon! No pain no gain tho, as they say!!
