And went on a major hour hikke with dog, and DS in a pram so pushing pram over icy mud was strenuous.

Just a couple of questions!

Are any of you doing Slimming World (am off to join a new class tomorrow night but am fairly out of touch with it)? Have you found it works for you.

Do you guys do weekly weigh-ins and if so can I join?

Have any of you seen/tried/heard good things about the recent batch of Fitness DVDs? I bought a mag yesterday and two caught my eye. One was a blonde girl who used to be in Steps and has lost five stone. The other was Coleen Nolan doing 20 dances or something. Any tips?

Sorry to be a pita new bird.

happynewRia · 07/01/2009 18:22

hi branston, I'm doing slimming world and it does work but it's hard work iyswim. I lost about a stone or just over after DS2 before I got bored/something else took over. (I remember, it was the driving into town to go to a class where I wouldn't know anyone - rather than a local one - and the leader being a cow that put me off!)

I didn't realise Clare from Steps had done a DVD. (I was a Steps fan). I also think she looks better now than she did in Steps, but I haven't seen her since she lost 5 stone... off to google.

happynewRia · 07/01/2009 18:28

just had a look on amazon - there is a preview of Claire Richards DVD. It looks hard!

What I would like to see is a celeb recording the DVD when they started exercising, and then the advanced bit when they have shaped up. It would give you something to keep you going I think.

jaz236 · 07/01/2009 20:48

tnite ive had beansprouts mixed with garlic and chillis and worcester sauce - and it was yummy!! HONESTLY!!

ill weigh myself tmorrow and will add my bod weight on here!

im thinking maybe i should eat my food whilst being naked in front of the mirror! that will make me shed pounds i reckon lol

RGPargy · 07/01/2009 22:23

Evening ladies!

So far today i have managed to stick to my points! Yippee!!

Branston - yes we do a weekly weigh in (i think?!) so feel free to add your weight to the list each week. I think in the previous thread we set out our losses and total losses like this:

RGPargy - 10st 4lbs - 2lbs (8st 4lb)

So the first weight is the current weight, followed by the amount you've lost that week, followed by the total loss so far.

Something like that anyway. if you can think of a better way to set it out then feel free!

jaz - i saw that Clare Sweeney programme last night. It was quite shocking how much she put on in such a short space of time, wasn't it.

I quite like the look of the Dance DVD (cant remember what it's called now but has music from Ministry on it) and also Davina's new one too.

I have decided that i'm going to give up the gym. I really want to go but tbh i dont have the time to get a really good work out in my lunch break and also our firm is such a sociable firm that there's always something to do at lunchtimes too lol (pub anyway? ) I've asked DP to get me some fitness DVDs for my birthday so hopefully i'll be able to throw myself around in the conservatory where the DVD/TV is. Thank GOD i didn't join the gym with a contract! Phew!!

ah Ria. If it's hard it ain't for me. Off to google and maybe buy the Coleen Nolan one.

Jaz - will you be posting photos? Actually, have read that back and it sounds much more normal in my head than it does when I type it!

jaz236 · 07/01/2009 22:28

RG, the thing is with davina, she ends up doing your head in with her stooooopid faces she pulls, she keeps going on how she loves this and that track! and its only the warm up!!

if u want i can copy the minsitry one for u, its an old one, its the one with the girl who was in the call me video, the one where all the girls are doing keep fit!! her body is amazing!!

by the way ive just seen your weight!! 10st 4lbs - thast good going hun!! if u need to be 8, then i have to be 7 - gawd i feel sick thinking abt it - im drinking cava, as its my birthday eve, hubbie is in bed with child as he wont go in cot again since we got back from durham!! as he slept with me all the time - gaaaaaaaaaaaaawd!!

happynewRia · 07/01/2009 22:36

loving your new weight RG, if only it were that easy

shame about the gymn, but you do need to leave yourself time to eat and digest your lunch IMO. It'll soon be spring - lots of walking! I am too scared to exercise in the conservatory - too many windows!

I have just eaten the left-over hula-hoops out of DS2s lunch, but I am knackered from my manic cleaning and the school run. and I unexpected and painful TOM.

DH is watching Top Gun (he will cry) he is such a girl.

mrshammond · 08/01/2009 09:05

Went to WW last night - according to their scales, I was the same weight as I was on 17th Dec (last WW meeting).

Am chuffed with that!!! No weight gain over xmas - I think it's a first for me!!!

Am feeling much more motivated now I've been.

happynewRia · 08/01/2009 09:18

that's good news mrshammond.

OK, today I have to be GOOD. DS2s birthday. He wants pizza takeaway for his birthday tea.

do you think SW cooked breakfast, fruit for lunch and snacks, and then a bit of takeaway would do much damage? Going to try and fit in a walk on the beach after school.

jaz236 · 08/01/2009 10:17

awwwwwwww my lovley hubbie made me toasted bagels with bacon and eggs and a candle on top for my birthday - suffice to say i did go for long walk this morning!

not going to weigh myself until tmoz me thinks as had cava last nite and feeling rather ropey and going to cosy gastro pub for lunch! yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!

happynewRia · 08/01/2009 10:39

happy birthday jaz!

RGPargy · 08/01/2009 11:32

Happy Birthday JAZ!!!! Hope you have a lovely day.

I quite like Davina - i know she pulls silly faces etc but she's like the best friend i'd love to have so i dont mind really (LOL!!). It'd be great if you could copy the Ministry one for me! The more DVDs the better i think!

Oh and by the way - that 10st 4lbs is just my FANTASY weight, not my real weight!! The figure in brackets is how much i would like to lose, i.e. 8 stone odd! haha!! I could never be 8 stone, i'd be like a walking skeleton!

Ria - yes, one day on WW and you drop 8 stone. Isn't it fab in Dream Land! Thankfully our conservatory has loads of vertical blinds over all the windows so no one will see me. There's only two little windows that dont have blinds but they're right at the top and i dont think they'd see much! LOL @ your DH crying in Top Gun!! Happy birthday to DS2! I think if you're very good all day then a slice or two of pizza will be ok - just make sure you dont overdo it. Perhaps make yourself a huge salad to go with it or a lovely pile of veg and gravy??

Mrs H - well done! That's fabulous! I will try to at least stay the same during this year's Christmas season (yeah right).

jaz236 · 08/01/2009 12:40

aw thank u guys!! email me ur address and ill get it sent out to you, got to copy it first!! ria if u want copy as well let me know!!

wouldnt mind doing the vicky binns one, altjhough she looks odd, but nice fugure and shes kept it that way not like sonia!! i did have the charlie brooks one, janine off eastenders, but we wiped it off the hard drive and i got bored of it rather quickly! shes kept her weight off aswell.

I was reading marieclaire online and thers a pill u can buy for a pound a day and it helps u keep the fat off!! wont be inshops until end of year i think?

jaz236 · 08/01/2009 12:41

WHY THE HELL ARE YOU GOING TO GIVE UP THE GYM???

RGPargy · 08/01/2009 12:48

Jaz - ok will do. What's your email address or shall i use your msn one?

I am giving up the gym because i just dont have the time to go!! Trying to go in my lunchbreak is very hard and i end up only doing 20 mins of cardio, which seems alot of effort for so little! I figure that as i have a floor area indoors that i can use for aerobics, and i have a step for my step videos and weights for weight training i may as well try and do it at home to save money! I've gone about 3 times since i joined back at the end of October!
