Yeah, you are so right. I am thinking of re-joining Weight Witches just to give me some structure in what i'm eating and to help me with my discipline. I'm hopeless at food discipline so think if i rejoin and keep up with the gym, i might start seeing some results!

Didn't make it to the gym today, BTW. DD was poorly so i had to stay at home with her as i didn't want to leave her with DS, coz it's not fair on him (he's almost 19, in case you're wondering). ;)

I confess to being awol due to shame

Haven't been to the gym in weeks for one reason or another. All valid reasons, but no excuse for not even getting the Davina DVD out, and definitely no excuse for eating so excessively ( again).

mum2grace · 09/07/2009 13:27

hi can i join please??!! ive got about 5 to 6 stone to lose. im getting married next year and desperate to look good in my dress. i used to be a size 12 then when i met my oh 5 1/2 yrs ago i got comfy with things and have got two kiddies now.im a size 18 and its taken its toll on my boobs and waistline!!! im a bridesmaid in april too for oh's bro and his fiancee. lost about 3 pound but i just hover around the same weight. need some motivation!!

Rialentless · 09/07/2009 14:08

welcome back jammy

welcome mum2grace too

poor DD RG, is she better today? I hadn't realised you had a DS too, until that chat about Take That on FB.

I have let things slip a bit this week (darned biscuits), but have managed (just!) to get into a pair of New Look size 22 jeans that I've never worn before. They're a bit snug round my waist, but (although still big) I think they look good on my bum, so the walking is paying off. Only thing is, I'm going to have to brave the trunk of clothes to see what other things I can maybe wear. Obviously I am and it's exciting, but it's too much effort atm

RGPargy · 09/07/2009 22:27

Hello Jammy! Welcome back! Dont worry about feeling ashamed, i for one am the first to admit when i've eaten badly (most of the time at the mo!).

Hello mum2grace and welcome on board! I'm also a hoverer and never seem to lose more than 2lb a week, only to put it back on the following week!

Ria - DD is better thanx. She was much more full of beans today and according to MIL, she ate really well, so i'm pleased about that!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 13/07/2009 22:59

Woo hoo! Despite eating appallingly for about a month, and drinking more than I ought, and not exercising, and definitely putting on weight I pulled an old pair of pre-pregnancy jeans out of the cupboard tonight in desparation to find something clean to wear to go out and they fitted A little tight, but wayhay. And they are "only" a size 18! (Mind you the Hawkshead size 18 jeans didn't fit though these M&S ones do.) Anyway, it has given me renewed inspiration to try to get back into good ways otherwise I won't be able to wear them for much longer Having said that the reason I wanted something to wear was to go out for an all-you-can-eat Chinese.

Rialentless · 13/07/2009 23:23

jammy, both of chinese and hawkshead jeans (I used to work for them - happy days). Damned M&S! oh, and of size 18.

my man-flu is too bad to diet just now.

RGPargy · 14/07/2009 21:53

Size 18???

Well done on fitting in them tho!!

OP posts:
JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 15/07/2009 08:41

Don't be too . I might just fit into this particular pair (and like I said the other pair doesn't fit, nowhere near!) but I am still 2.5 stone heavier than when I got pg, and that was 2.5 - 3 stone heavier than I ought to be. And worse yet, I have put on about 9lb in the past month or so So although about the jeans I am pretty overall.

Rialentless · 15/07/2009 11:43

small achievements jammy

we'll get there

Rialentless · 16/07/2009 12:24

woo-hoo, 2lb off and got my stone award!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 16/07/2009 17:36

Ria, well done!

RGPargy · 16/07/2009 21:16

I know what you mean Jammy, but as Ria said, baby steps, eh?!

Ria - well done on the loss!!

manic cleaning today. am knackered!

think my fitness levels are improving though, yesterdays 4.5 mile walk seemed easy not massively challenging. We had planned fish and chips for tea afterwards (there is a gorgeous chippy in a tiny village near the forestry) but we left to early for it to be teatime. We planned on stopping on the way home, but the other decent chippy was shut. DH and I indulged in garlic bread with cheese and a burger from the pizza shop

my new name is to reflect our intention to walk a lot during the school holidays (think Victoria Wood)

RGPargy · 21/07/2009 20:30

Hi Ria

Well done on the walking!!

My fitness levels appeared to go up but ever since TOM mine have completely gone! I feel zapped of any energy i had lately and i've found the classes really really hard too. I'm not sure if it's something to do with the alcohol DP and I had been having every night since last Saturday and every night last week/this weekend or whether it's to do with TOM. It's not massive amounts of alcohol but a couple of smirnoff ices i suppose (terrible sugar content!).

I'm hoping that i'll get some energy back as last week during step class i completely faded and it was embarrassing! I stopped about 5/10 minutes towards the end because i just could not carry on anymore. I felt really disappointed with myself. Step class again tomorrow so i'm hoping that i'll be able to finish it this week, especially as we've not had booze yesterday or today!

WW isn't going very well I've barely been able to keep my eyes open all day, probably from sitting around doing not very much, so i ended up going up the shop for milk and coming home with a packet of Jaffa Cakes and stuffing the lot! Thankfully (for me, haha!) DD doesn't like Jaffa cakes (strange girl) so i just had to eat the whole lot!

One part of me was screaming inside today, shouting "I'm just not ready for this!!" but another part of me was shouting "oh FFS, you'll never lose weight if you dont do something about it!".

Ever have those days??

Anyway, enough of the ranting lol.

OP posts:
ValDerRia · 22/07/2009 18:26

Am having one of those days today RG! Haven't even managed a walk

hope you enjoyed step class today.

only 1/2lb off this week so am a bit disappointed. Hopefully on holiday next week, but with all the preparation (packing, leaving the house tidy etc) and the thoughts of not being able to stick to it 100% next week, it's very exhausting and not an appealing prospect.

I have a tutorial tomorrow and an assignment due in, and I just want to eat crap and pretend it's not happening

RGPargy · 22/07/2009 20:50

Nevermind about the lack of walk. There's always tomorrow.

Step was much better today, although i still felt quite knackered, i could at least finish it!

Well done on the 1/2 lb off. At least it's coming off. I've been the same weight for the last few months so i'm not even bothering to weigh myself properly yet.

Good luck with the tutorial and assignment!!

OP posts:
ValDerRia · 24/07/2009 20:32

glad step was better RG[smle]

I am at pre-holiday killing point DH hasn't done anything to help except shout at the kids and ask if "we" could be ready to go tonight to miss the traffic.

Am sick to death of washing and ironing, and the kids (knowing I am in a badmood) asking if they can help, then not bothering do what I suggest. DS1 is obviously going to be a joy to employ when he is 14 - he kept disappearing every time something needed doing

have a good week!

RGPargy · 25/07/2009 22:04

Blimey! I just "flipped" this thread and saw that it was started in November 08!! Made me realise that if i had been good since November 08 i could have more than likely lost the majority of my weight by now. Shocking when you think of it like that isn't it?!

Hope you have a nice holiday, despite wanting to explode on Friday!!

grinningbee · 29/07/2009 11:16

Morning ladies!

Mind if I join in?

My name is Grinningbee and I need to lose 5 stone

I was doing SW up to July last year and had lost 3 stone ... then got my BFP! So now dd is 16 weeks old I want to go back onto it again. In theory I need to lose 74 pounds although only 5 of those are baby weight I haven't lost

Going to go back onto SW, and if anyone knows what extras you can have while bfing I'd be grateful.

RGPargy · 29/07/2009 18:28

Hi grinningbee and welcome!

No idea what extras you can have with SW - i'm back on WW now and haven't done SW for years.

Congrats on your lovely new baby and well done on BF!!!

OP posts:
ValDerRia · 31/07/2009 22:27

makes you think doesn't it RG

hi grinningbee, welcome. have you asked on the SW thread? I will try and dig out the box with all my books in tomorrow and see if I still have the BF info.

holiday not great unfortnuately

am taking weekend off SW (haven't been on it all week either to cheer myself up,and will get back on the wagon next week.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 02/08/2009 10:06

Hello again, and well to grinningbee

I am officially back on the wagon this morning. After a particularly bad week with my depression, which has been getting worse for the past month or so, I talked with DH yesterday and thought about why it might be getting worse. Answers came back to me - for the past 2 months I've done v little exercise, have eaten badly, and have been drinking more alcohol . And exercise and good eating certainly make me feel better, and alcohol doesn't really mix with the ADs so... Anyway, for the good of my health, my happiness, my marriage (SH has been a star but he has his limits) and DD's future I have decided to take control again. So I had a sad little bowl of cereal this morning (had the scales out to measure out what you are meant to eat instead of just pouring out what I fancy) and have been to the gym for the first time since 23rd May . It was hard work, and then I ran my shower too hot and felt all faint and nearly collapsed afterwards! I managed to pull some clothes on and stagger out, still half wet and with no shoes on, and got out to the fresh air just in time. But once I'd cooled off I was fine and am now very glad I went and feeling that smug ache in my thighs.

RiaButterflew · 02/08/2009 20:00

for your depression jammy, it's hard isn't it. Your words there have been a bit of a wake-up-call for me too as I have been feeling down recently (and particularly bad on holiday) - in the run-up to the holiday I hardly got out for a walk, and we didn't do any on holiday either. The downstairs of the house is firly tidy, so if I can keep it that way that's another step in the right direction too. And now DH (hopefully) has a bit steadier job and his DD is home from hospital that's 2 "outside" stresses reduced a bit (I hope). Fingers crossed!

well done on getting to the gym

Tomorrow is the start of my week this week and I aim for a walk every day. and try to stick to SW.

RGPargy · 03/08/2009 14:27

Hello ladies.

Well done for going to the gym! It's great when you feel like you've actually done something isn't it?

No gym for me this week as i'm working all week, boo hiss. Still, i'm just thinking of the extra money i'll be getting (i'm covering my job share, who is on hols this week).

Better go as i'm at work (lol) but hope to write more later.
