Just bookmarking ladies - it's been dead quiet on here!

OP posts:
grinningbee · 16/09/2009 07:53

Isn't it quiet in here...

I had a gain this week so am feeling annoyed with myself. Ah well!

Off to make a tandoori chicken recipe to marinade for tea tonight.

How is everyone else today?

RGPargy · 17/09/2009 16:26

Hi Grinningbee!!

Yes it's been bloomin' quiet in here lately. So quiet in fact that i had to do a search for the thread because i couldn't find it!!

Not been dieting really, as usual lol, but did get the chance to listen to Paul McKenna on Tuesday night. I fell asleep halfway through and cant for hte life of me remember what he said for the bit where i was awake!!

Must try and listen again tonight - DP however gets all "needy" if i say i want half an hour to myself to have a date with Paul, saying "oh but i wont know what to do with myself for half an hour while you're upstairs......"

OP posts:
grinningbee · 17/09/2009 16:44

Won't know what to do with himself??? You could suggest he hoovers or dusts bet he'd find something else then!

Hmmmm if I went off for half an hour my dh would play computer games while watching the sport channels.

Just eaten an enormous pot of fat free fromage frais with a chocolate orange mullerlight stirred into it [piggy emoticon] Was rather yummy.

Other than that, I am sat here watching the cricket trying to spot dh in the crowd, while dd is fast asleep after her first massage class earlier.

I might join her for a snooze in a minute!

RIAlityBites · 17/09/2009 17:26

Hi ladies.

Have had nothing to post recently so have been sort-of lurking. Things haven't been great, but I'm a bit better now, well not as stressed, but still fairly down and anxious. I had lost 5lb last week because I felt so crap I wasn't really eating, but I expect it's all crept back on. Needless to say I haven't reached my goal of being in the next stone bracket by Saturday.

I have been out today and finally panic-bought and outfit to wear to the wedding we're going to on Saturday. It isn't what I wanted at all, but it looks OK/almost nice, so it'll do.

We aren't going away for the weekend anymore though as DH has to work Sunday. I think we will have nice wine and I might risk a chinese on Sunday (DS1 has been on a residential trip with school this week, and he is expecting a special "welcome home" meal), then I don't know what course of action to take on Monday, other than I need a new goal - maybe a stone off by xmas? Dsis has just given me all my WW stuff back, and I am torn between that, RC or SW. Pah.

grinningbee · 17/09/2009 19:41

(((Ria)))

You sound so down in the dumps. Treat yourself over the weekend and then have a fresh start on Monday.

If it would help (it would certainly help me) we could be "lose a stone by Xmas" buddies? And anyone else if they're interested. There's 14 weeks to Xmas, so it's doable.

Tell me to bog off if I'm being naff

I've just been told we're going to an Indian this weekend for dh's birthday. Wonder what I should have to be diet friendly...

RGPargy · 17/09/2009 21:25

Grinning - the first time i listened he insisted on coming upstairs and laying in bed with me!! He then proceeded to fidget a bit and play with his phone. I could hear every tap tap tap of his keyboard and then had to send him downstairs because i couldn't concentrate on the CD!!

Hello Ria - you've been very quiet! Aww bless you, try not to let things get to you. xxx I agree you should treat yourself at the weekend - it doesn't have to be food tho, perhaps you could have a lovely relaxing bubble bath and pamper yourself or something. Of course DS1 should have the chinese welcome home dinner (and you'll just have to join him!). Chin up luv.

Grinning - i'm up for trying to lose a stone by xmas. For some reason i seem to be feeling quite confident since listening to the CD. Might be all in my head tho?! If you want something diet friendly, try and have some chicken without sauce.

Looks as if we're not going now. The couple we were going with had a major row last night, and it looks as if one of them has done something very naughty...

So, I get to cook instead! Actually, I'd rather do that anyway 'cos I can control what I eat then.

Right. Need to get my bum into gear and start making some candles.

RGPargy · 18/09/2009 14:51

That's a shame, bee. Enjoy your candle making tho!

I dont have to cook tonight! Yippee!! We always used to have curry night on a friday night which meant that i would get home from work (7.15), spend some time with DD before bed (probably 8-8.30 on a Thurs/Fri) and then start preparing and cooking curry (8.30-9pm). By the time we were eating it was nearing 10pm! So i put my foot down and told DP that i wanted to move curry night to saturday night so that at last we could eat at a decent time and it's always nice to get a takeaway on a Friday night after work, isn't it.

OP posts:
grinningbee · 18/09/2009 15:51

Mmmmmm takeaway night

Didn't make candles, made spicy beanburgers instead.

Oh, and discovered damp coming in our berdroom. There is mould growing up the side of dd's cot

I wonder if the council chappy will do anything when he comes to look on Wednesday...

grinningbee · 18/09/2009 15:51

er, bedroom not berdroom!

RGPargy · 18/09/2009 16:01

Yummy, i love spicy beanburgers! I make them too, but normally just with baked beans, onions and some crushed chillies etc. Still yummy tho!

OP posts:
RGPargy · 18/09/2009 16:02

Oh and at the mould growing up the cot!! You need to get that sorted pronto because breathing in fungus spores is quite bad for your health!!

OP posts:
RIAlityBites · 18/09/2009 17:12

shame about your night out 'bee, but yay for curry night and takeaways RG

sausage rolls and sarnies and crisps for us. DS1 is home in one piece

I have masses of ironing to do and a cushion to sew together, but I'll be back later.

RGPargy · 18/09/2009 17:24

I like the sound of your dinner Ria!!

OP posts:
deafworm · 18/09/2009 17:40

can I creep in please, maybe lurk at the back for a bit?!

I've got about 6st to lose. been reading the paul mckenna book today and going to give the golden rules a try, I take it that's what you are doing RGPargy? Not feeling ready to launch into a big weight loss campaign yet, little one is only 3 months, so going to give Paul's plan a go in the meantime!

Have to admit to only having read the last page,35 pages seemed a bit much whilst trying to ignore concentrate on the baby draped over my shoulder and two pre-schoolers helping daddy make tea in the background

grinningbee · 18/09/2009 20:11

Hi Deafworm

Welcome to the thread I must admit, I couldn't contemplate dieting when dd was so small as I was eating scones to make up for sleep deprivation (my excuse), so well done for even thinking about it!

deafworm · 18/09/2009 21:12

thanks, eating scones to combat sleep deprivation sounds great to me!

I got all wound up a couple of weeks ago and decided that was it i was going to lose it all immediately but really my brain cells are still somewhere round the labour ward, i cant cope with anything too taxing and moving house in a few weeks is taxing enough so i will give this paul mckenna idea a go and if it works great, if it doesn't i haven't wasted anything giving it a go.

I finished the pregnancy weighing the same as when i fell pregnant so i'm fairly pleased with myself, haven't lost any more but haven't gained any either. i lost a stone before falling pregnant on slimming world therefore happy that 3 months after having baby im a stone lighter than my heaviest if that makes sense. fairly certain dd3 is the last so will be concentrating on getting the weight off fairly soon.

sorry i do go on, feel free to tell me to shut up in the corner!

RGPargy · 18/09/2009 22:01

Hello deafworm and welcome!

Congrats on your new LO! I am trying to think about Paul McKenna, yes, but i dont have the book - do you think the book is as important as the CDs? I acquired the CDs through.....erm...... not so ethical ways... so am wondering if i should buy the book???

OP posts:
deafworm · 19/09/2009 21:38

Thanks, ive been cuddling a 2 week old today and suddenly my little baby seemed huge! she is in good books though as i have been out in a black dress all day and she waited till we were home again to be sick on my shoulder, ive got her well trained obviously!

there is a cd with the book but im not sure if its the same as the set of cd's which are mentioned a few times. i haven't actually listened to it yet so i cant help on that.

the book is worth a read, its quite short, i read it through in a couple of hours, i got it cheaply off ebay though. there's 4 golden rules, are they on the cd's you have? basically saying eat slower, stop when youre full and above all enjoy every mouthful rather than eating on autopilot which im very guilty of. theres also a lot of exercises to reprogramme youre thinking about yourself, not sure how good it is, im a bit sceptical but i used hypnobirthing with my last 2 kids so not sure why! he also says leave a fortnight between weigh ins which could be a problem!

RGPargy · 20/09/2009 00:08

I think if i held a newborn now they would seem absolutely tiny!! DD is 21 months now so she's not a baby anymore

Think i might have a quick look on ebay then and see if they have one, especially if it's short! He does speak of a couple of golden rules on the CD but tbh i really cant remember too much about what he said!! I remember about the first five minutes and then the next thing i know, he's counting down, saying "3.... 2..... 1" and that's it, CD over!! haha!

OP posts:
deafworm · 20/09/2009 09:00

Thats a good thing though, i fell asleep in every hypnobirthing session we had and she said it was perfectly normal and the fact i was so relaxed meant it was going in subconsciously, or something like that. sleep was a good thing in her eyes that much i do remember. going to see if i can get half an hour with the cd tonight.

RGPargy · 20/09/2009 23:07

I bought the book from ebay last night after all for £2.20 lol. I will give it a read one night this week hopefully!

I heard that falling asleep is not a bad thing too. Hopefully if i listen again (haven't listened since that first time ) then you never know, it might actually sink in!

OP posts:
deafworm · 21/09/2009 07:57

good luck, i still havent got to the cd. not doing very well at following the rules which really should be simple but at least its making me think about how i eat. so start again and try to stick to it today
