Ria - Yes they open 24 hours. DD was all cuteness and smiles while we were there - charming the pants off the staff as usual (little bugger!) She went to sleep at about 11.45pm in the end, after crashing out after she'd had some milk and the magical Ashtons powders.

She's up again now after being distraught at me leaving the room ("Oh no!!! Mummy!! No no no!!" etc)after 1.5 hours with her in her room while she tosses and turns, so at this precise moment she's sitting on the sofa next to me trying to stick a vest on her head. I'm exhausted! I'm going to delegate tomorrow and friday's bed time duties to DP (he's been working away since monday). It's his turn to stand over her cot getting backache for over an hour.

Managed to get to the gym today. Just did some cardio. I did some weights yesterday and today i can feel my muscles aching a bit, which is great!

can you have a chair next tot he cot so you can sit and hold hands through the bars? That's why I get mine to sleep in bed with me, cos it takes too long just to stand there!

It's a bit dull this moring, don't know if we'll go for a walk. Would like to go back to bed, our neighbour goes to work at about 5am and this morning his car took some starting.

RGPargy · 23/04/2009 12:04

Think i might have to do the chair thing, Ria. Funnily enough i was thinking of about a chair last night......

Did you go for your walk?

OP posts:
vaRIAtyisthespiceoflife · 23/04/2009 12:26

we did a different route that is steeper, but only 15 min extra as we called in to a toddler group at the church (which we passed on the route), so I have had my skiving time (and then some!) today. But DS3 loved it (I used to go when DS1 was tiny, but with DS2 it was too cliequey and busy so we didn't bother)
but, I suppose I wasn't in so didn't have the beans on toast 2nd breakfast I was planning

objectsintheRIAviewmirror · 25/04/2009 07:00

went for a curry last night. yum.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 25/04/2009 10:19

Not had a good week diet and exercise wise Must get back into that mindset...

objectsintheRIAviewmirror · 25/04/2009 10:38

yes jammy you must you are going to be my inspiration

after the weekend...

am going to buy an Indian cookbook later...

and we're (hopefully) going to Whitby tomorrow to Goth Weekend, so fish and chips

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 25/04/2009 12:00

OMG I remember you going to whitby goth weekend last year. Seems like 5 mins ago. Where does time go?

Just been to the gym and worked hard for an hour That'll help get me backon track!

objectsintheRIAviewmirror · 25/04/2009 12:44

I bow down to your dedication jammy, well done!

(maybe it was the Goth weekend in October you remember? I think we went to both...)

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 25/04/2009 19:14

But sitting cross legged this afternoon hurt my leg again And the wine we opened so I could put a glass in the chilli is just too nice for me not to drink Ah well lots of walking at the country park tomorrow!

katiestar · 26/04/2009 20:33

Well I've had a bit of a 'mixed ' shall we say week dietwise .We had a few dinners at my parents while DH was in hospital and it would have been a bit ungrateful not to eat what was on offer .I have been to the gym 4 times though
I was disappointed to have stayed the same weightwise this week but also put 4 cm on my bust and 4 cm on my waist !! (although I did lose 1 cm from hips.
( god typed hipo instead of hips then - Freudian slip !!)
I am hoping it is cos I'm premenstrual this week and retaining loads of water and next week will see 4lbs off and loads of cm !!
Hope your legs feeling better Jammy - and sorry about your leg .

Rialentless · 26/04/2009 22:19

Hi katie, how is DH doing? (and you? My DH has a shoulder problem that warrants lots of moaning, groaning amd operations/"procedures" - being his "nirse" is bloody exhausting!)

Am also AF here, not that it makes much difference.

So, it's Sunday night (again - if I'd been good all week it woud only be Tuesday)

Goals for this week-

  1. a little daily activity (walking the school run + a bit/DVD/something active)
  2. eat less crap and more "good stuff"
  3. drink more water
  4. limit the booze - life is not one big party (if it was it would be fun all the time, but it would be too much effort appearance-wise)
  5. make more effort with day to day appearance
  6. be aware of posture
  7. SKIN CARE ROUTINE (ie - get one!)

5, 6 & 7 so that next time I go out with Dsis there is no confusion who is 45 and who is only 31

Rialentless · 26/04/2009 22:20

and learn to type, obviously!

and take my multi vitamin/evening primrose/starflower supplements!

katiestar · 27/04/2009 11:28

Thanks Ria .DH is loads better.he has built some somersault bars in the garden for the kids this weekend !!.Thank god for anti-biotics !!
I need to do most of the things listed above too.I have already decided I had better start doing something about my skin ! It is quite a lot drier since I have been not eating so much fat ,so must at least start moisturising.I was wondering about Johnsons holiday skin which has a bit of fake tan in ? Has anyone tried it ?
I also need some new clothes but am putting it off because I don't want to waste money buying something that (hopefully) will soon be too big !!
Oh yes and graet news. After my depressing weightloss yesterday, I weighed and measured myself again and this morning was lighter and slimmer than yesterday morning ?
So this week 1.5 lbs weightloss and 2cm off my waist and 2cm off boobs so feeling much more motivated.

Rialentless · 27/04/2009 11:54

katiestar, a good result.

I did try the holiday skin stuff, but I went orange round my wrists! It was only the pale stuff too! But am thinking of having another go on my legs at least. Had a look at moisturisers in Tesco this morning but didn't find anything I fancied, so will stick with my chapy morrisons vitamin E stuff for now. (not that I would spend a lot anyway.

Come the "financial revolution" (when DH starts his new job, hopefully next month) I am going to have a splurge, on ME! (after I've bought and smuggled in new shoes for DH that he thinks he's always had, trainers for the boys...)

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/04/2009 18:27

I recommend Nivea soft lotion for daytime moisturising and nivea visage night cream for, well, night. Neither terribly pricey either

Just had to sneak in a sandwich as going to give blood and feeling a bit empty and not good idea to go on empty stomach. But have resisted all the snacks and choc that were going begging at work

Rialentless · 27/04/2009 20:36

I used a nivea sample sachet last night which was nice, I might treat myself. Is the daytime stuff suitable for mixing with my tinted moisturiser? (it makes me lood awful if I don't "water it down")

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/04/2009 20:42

No idea Ria, sorry. I'm thinking of getting a tinted moisturiser but don't know which one. Mind, I've got stacks of untinted body lotions/moisturisers still so maybe should use some of those up first?

Rialentless · 27/04/2009 20:46

I think mine is nivea (bought it cos DM got some) and I use a tiny squeeze mixed in with moisturiser instead of wearing foundation and powder as too much stuff makes my face go all sweaty and it's very , and it evens my skin tone up without being obvious.

I am building up to clearing out the bathroom cupboard, there'll be loads of xmas-gift body lotions in there

Rialentless · 27/04/2009 20:47

there is something odd going on with my keyboard tonight - it feels strange and it is acting strange too

RGPargy · 28/04/2009 21:04

Hi everyone

Went to the gym again today and yesterday and even attempted to jog today on the treadmill lol. I'm ashamed to say that i could only manage 30 seconds at a time tho before i had to slow back down to a fast walking pace again lol. Oh well, next time i will try and go for 45 seconds and then build up to a minute, a minute & 15 etc (God, that really sounds pathetic doesn't it!!).

Well tonight DS has really put the icing on the cake as far as being a prat is concerned. He recently bought a moped from his mate and managed to do his CBT test and get insured when he got home today too. He went out at 2.45pm and by 8.30pm he's on the phone to me telling me that he's had a crash but "it wasn't my fault". Yeah right, thinks I. Turns out he was driving like a prat, as i suspected. He was right up the backside of the van in front of him, decided to overtake the van, the van then overtook him, DS rode up his backside, the van slams on his brakes and wham - DS goes into the back of him. What a prat, honestly. When i questioned him about how far away from the van he was he told me "about from here to the washing line". So that's about 4ft then. And he wonders why he went into him.

Enough moaning from me - rant over!!

Rialentless · 28/04/2009 22:05

good on you RG - have you looked at the couch potato to 5k podcast for the treadmill? It helps (says Ria who dis week 1 run 2 and then stopped)

for your moped woes.

I have managed to fit into a pair of combats tonight that I bought from La Redoute when DS3 was a baby. I am presuming it must have been when I was about 1/2 stone heavier than I am now. Tis a good job they fitted as I had nothing else of a presentable nature to wear to parents evening.

food not going well. skincare routine OK

RGPargy · 28/04/2009 22:28

What's the podcast all about then Ria? TBH i'm not intending to become a jogger (i hate running) but i do know that jogging/running is a brilliant way of changing your body and getting your fitness levels up.

OP posts:
Rialentless · 28/04/2009 22:34

here (i don't know if this is the one I have) from this thread

it tells you when to run and when to walk, you build up gradually (I think week 1 is 5 min warm up walk, 1 min run and 1.5 min walk 8 times, then a cool down walk) and it's all timed and mine had encouraging comments too. The first time I completed the whole session I nearly cried from the achievement (and one day I will do it again), all the "thinking" is done for you, all you have to do is concentrate on the physical effort.

Rialentless · 29/04/2009 14:01

DS1s tennis coach did the school run this morning in teeny tiny skin-tight lycra running shorts
