do you two know each other in RL?

a bit quiet on heere

despite a 6 1/2 mile walk on Sautrday (on the Moors in a sleet storm) I have still only lost 1lb. DM has helpfully given me a magazine with a diet in that she thinks looks very straightforward (DM who used to be 9.5 stone and is gutted that she is now nearly 11st (I wish), and never eats too much and definately not to excess, and also doesn't like chocolate)

RGPargy · 30/03/2009 19:46

Hi Ria

Seems that we dont actually know each other in RL but have sat next to each other haha. How funny!!

Ria are you sure your mother is human? She doesn't like chocolate?? Now come on. Only an alien being could not like chocolate, surely?!!

Well done on the pound you lost. It's better than not losing at all, eh?

I've been fairly good today. Well, good compared to how i've been lately, anyway. I have given up the alcohol () as from today and the next time i drink will be when i go raving on 12th April with DP. It's a couple of weeks away but as booze is my biggest downfall, i'm hoping to lose a little by then, even if it's just water. I'm also portionating my food from today too - sensible "normal person" sized meals with fresh veg and salads is how it's going to be from now on. I'm going to look at my WW cook book later (after i've given my Davina DVD a go - yes really!! ) to see if i can knock up some of their low point recipes that will suit both DP and I. As DP is a veggie i will have to try and adapt the meaty ones by using his meat alternative products instead. Thankfully they're usually quite tasty so fingers crossed it will work!

So yeah - watch this space everyone!

good on you RG. I'm probably going dry (also 2 weeks) from tomorrow, as I need a change from SW (so much guilt, what with the magazine subs being my xmas pressie, but I'm getting nowhere fast) and chances are I'll go Rosemary Conley again. I SO don't want another summer in lasts years fat clothes. I think DH is staying over at work tomorrow night too, so DVD out for me too(but not Davina, I would waste too much energy trying not to kick-box - if only - the TV). The running went tits up but I have just vigorously beached the bathroom.

I often wonder, when visiting DM and looking at her house that she thinks is untidy/in need of cleaning, if she is in fact some kind of other being. She does drink though (plenty!), and eats cheese (though not to massive excess), and she will eat walnut whips and frys turkish delight. I think it's solid chocolate she has issues with... I wouldn't mind being almost 11 stone though.

RGPargy · 30/03/2009 22:39

Well the DVD never happened. This was no fault of mine but it was due to the fact that DD decided that she would not go to sleep until 10pm (little moo!). I dont know what was wrong with her but it was almost as if she'd swallowed a whole load of e-numbers or something! She was just WIDE awake and full of beans! It might have had something to do with the fact that she woke up at 8.30 this morning (so a nice lay in for mummy!) and then had a nap for a good hour at 3.30pm this afternoon, and only because i practically forced her to nap by sticking her in the carrier for a while! I think she didn't really need the nap but i just maybe wanted to wear the carrier for a bit. Note to self : Get big teddy to stick in carrier when DD is wide awake so as not to enduce 10pm bedtimes.

Good luck with Rosemary, Ria. i dont want to wear last year's summer clothes either, although to be fair i only have one wardrobe of clothes and i wear the same stuff whatever the weather. Plus i think i've chucked them all now anyway because they got worn out from constant wearing.

I am in awe of your mum!!

OK, here we go again

18 st 4lb
breakfast - had
mid-morning power-snack - had...

tonight's tea will be a slight improvisation as we're having roast chicken and it doesn't seem to be on the list of meals. Will bake myself a jacket as no new potatoes in (and I don't like them anyway), no yorkies or apple pie for me

I don't have a summer wardrobe either RG, just manky cropped trousers with the same tops as winter.

New goal - I would like to be able to wear one of my rings. Think my wedding ring is long-term goal, but my elvish love ring for starters.

Good luck!!!

Riallytoofattoflounce · 31/03/2009 17:19

Thank goodness tea is nearly ready

Riallytoofattoflounce · 31/03/2009 21:31

So, not going to do the DVD tonight, but I have been PERFECT today . Will go for a bit of a walk on the way home from the school run in the morning.

RGPargy · 31/03/2009 21:36

Ria - 18st 11lbs here That's a whole 10lbs more than my lightest when i was doing really well with WW.

DD is being a pickle again tonight and still hasn't gone to bed. DP is currently upstairs with her sitting on our bed (i assume) in the hope that the lack of distraction of the TV etc will help her go to sleep. I'm not sure what's wrong with her! I know the clocks have gone forward so it's really only 8.30pm as i type this but FGS this is getting ridiculous now! We think she's having a growth spurt too as she's just constantly running around like a looney, picking up new words, new baby signs and doing new things etc. We have come to the conclusion that her brain wont shut down. Wish we could find the bloomin' off button!

Not had too bad a day today. had toast for breakie, couple of Hot X Buns for lunch (i went shopping and then had to go to my neighbour's for a coffee so didn't have time for anything else) and then tonight i have made a chicken & leek pasta dish but boo for me, i ended up making a cheese sauce and bunging that in it too because it just seemed way too dry without it.

I'm going to see my friend tomorrow who's recently had twins so i have made an extra portion (for four!) of the chicken & leek dish which i will take over with me. I think for dinner tho i will just have a bowl of no point soup to make up for it lol.

Right, think i'm off to post about DD and hopefully find some answers. Hopefully no one will suggest sedation although at this point the thought sounds rather inviting......

Have a good evening!

Well done Ria!

Riallytoofattoflounce · 31/03/2009 21:55

some children just don't need sleep I'm afraid. I have three of them, although they are mostly asleep by 9pm or just after nowadays. Good luck. have you tried lavendar oil in her bath?

your day doesn't sound too bad at all. I was 16st just after DS3 was born, the best I've done since I joined this thread is probably 18-2. So long as I start losing something the weight isn't an issue, it's the stockpile of size 20/22 jeans I have cluttering up my bedroom - I want to wear them!!!

RGPargy · 31/03/2009 22:02

That's what i dont understand tho Ria - she has ALWAYS had a good 12 hours every night, from the age of about 5 months so i dont know why suddenly she should be going to bed at 10pm and waking up at nearly 8am! I'm going to get up early tomorrow and wake her at 6am i think and then try my hardest to NOT let her sleep (other than in the car to/from my friend's) in the hope that after her bath she'll be zonked, which is usually the case.

See I was 18st 1lb while i was BF DD but i just couldn't get to the 17 bracket for some reason so i think maybe that secretly made me a little dispondent about the whole "diet" thing.

I know what you mean about clothes that you desperately want to wear - i have a suitcase full of them in the loft and i soooo desperately want to wear them again! They are all about a size 12/14 too! Seems like such a long way away before i ever get back into them.....

Riallytoofattoflounce · 01/04/2009 10:14

we'll do it RG - WE WILL!

didn't manage my walk this morning as was hot and dizzy going through the school gate, so thought I should come home. Maybe later...

oooo, nearly time for my mid-morning power snack!

Riallytoofattoflounce · 01/04/2009 20:17

the curse of day two is trying to get me. I will resist...

RGPargy · 01/04/2009 21:39

Be good, Ria! Be good!!

OP posts:
Riallytoofattoflounce · 01/04/2009 21:46

I'm trying RG. Off to make a cup of tea in a minute, then bed I think.
Have dug out my old RC magazines for motivation - I can't believe I only have 3, I thought there were more.
The food is nice so far -

B/fast - 20g special K with 1/2 chopped banana and 1/2 slice multigrain toast (am meant to have marmite and cherry tomatoes on it)
Lunch has been tuna salad sandwich
tea tonight was chicken salad and a jacket potato with low fat coleslaw
and I had a bowl of stir fry veg as I am allowed an extra portion of salad as a snack! and 1 piece fruit mid morning and mid afternoon.

Am writing it down to convince myself I've eaten loads. The first 2 weeks are only 1.200 calories though, which isn't many when you have a lot to lose. After 2 weeks you get 1,500 I think. More reasonable but so far off.

Sorry for my sugar/fat-deprived rambling! I think I might be getting a virus too as my head/eyes still feel foggy.

How were your friends twins?

Riallytoofattoflounce · 02/04/2009 10:27

I beat the day two diet demons

RGPargy · 02/04/2009 22:30

Well done for combatting the diet demons Ria!

I've also combatted the booze demons so far this week. It's only been 4 days but it feels like aaaages already haha! I have noticed that i'm weeing more in the night and my face doesn't feel quite so puffy so far.

I've done the 1200 cals a day thing too but i was alot slimmer. You can eat well on it - it's all about choosing your most economic food (calorie-wise). Cant wait for you tell me how you got on at your next weigh-in. If it works well for you, i might follow suit!

OP posts:
Riallytoofattoflounce · 02/04/2009 22:40

well done RG. I used to calorie count when DS1 was little, but I was only about13/14st then anyway. Currently the best thing about this diet is I only have to choose from a list of pre-planned and counted meals and cook it. No thought required.
I am weeing more in the night too.It is annoying!

I have to confess though, if DH came home now with wine/beer and a takeaway, I would bite his hand off to get to it

I am trying to focus on Tuesday. It's only a week for goodness sake, it shouldn't be that difficult!

loulou35 · 03/04/2009 00:25

Hello- am building up to joining (after easter)- you guys are getting me motivated to do it - have er, lots to lose (about 6 st)- will be coming soon......

well done everyone for all you work so far

Riallytoofattoflounce · 03/04/2009 15:38

no need to wait until after easter loulou. You can join in the chat anytime, you don't have to be good

Do you think I'm imagining feeling slimmer after 4 days? My double chin seems bigger though

RGPargy · 03/04/2009 15:39

lol Ria - i know how you feel! I had to have a glug of DP's beer the other night. It was so warm outside and a cold beer was so inviting so i had a glug instead of a glass. Not sure how much i'll be able to hold out this weekend tho. Should just think about next weekend tho - that's our night away and we'll both be necking back the booze then!

Loulou35 - hello and welcome! Looking forward to seeing you after Easter. Enjoy the chocolate while you can!
