Blimey, it HAS been quiet hasn't it?!! Nothing happening much here. had loads of snow but thankfully i dont work mondays and tuesdays so didn't have to try and battle through to the station, only to find out there were no trains running lol.

Gotta try it tomorrow tho but seeing as alot of it is melting here, i'm hoping the trains will be ok too.

OP posts:
keepingitRia · 03/02/2009 21:22

no snow left here, it got washed away last night by the rain. DS1 is gutted as he didn't have to go to school yesterday as the buses wouldn't take them!

trying hard to get back on track here. weighed in this morning for the first time in 2 weeks to check the damage and I have stayed the same. I was lol when I logged it on SW as there was a message that said "you may be disappointed with your progress this week". Nope. it set me up for a good day, and then I came over all faint after our after-tea walk to the library, so I have had bread and a couple of snacks

hope you can get to work OK RG (unless of course they still pay you if you can't get there because of the weather...)

RGPargy · 04/02/2009 12:34

We still had a bit of snow round our way, although the main roads were clear. it was just left on the paths and verges etc. They have forecast more snow for Friday i think but i hope it doesn't snow because i've got a much needed hair appointment on Friday morning and then i'm off to a "sling meet" on Friday afternoon (we just sit around ooohing an ahhhing over everyone's slings and baby carriers lol).

Managed to get into work ok too today (worse luck!).

Sorry you came over a bit iffy Ria - make sure your blood sugar is kept up! Well done for staying the same tho!! Good show!!

I've decided to change my weigh in day, and also my meeting location with WW. At the moment i get weighed on a Monday (when i go!) but it really is my heaviest day to get weighed as i have all of the weekend's naughtiness that gets weighed with me! My lightest days tend to be Friday mornings and sometimes Saturday mornings too. There is a WW meeting much much closer to home on a Saturday morning so i'm going to go to that one. It's walking distance too so i'm looking forward to not having to drive there in a hurry because i'm late etc. The only reason i went to the Monday morning meeting initially was because when i said to this girl i know that i was going to join WW, she said she wanted to come with me but could only do Monday mornings and so we had to trek across to the next village to go! Sod's law tho is that she's only been a few times and i've been going there nearly a year now but it's really inconvenient for me! I dont see her anymore tho so i've decided i'm going to go to the meeting i actually WANT to go to as it's 2 minutes from my house. Sorry for waffling on there, just had to get it off my chest haha!!

good for you RG, pls you'll earn extra points walking there! My Dsis has a theory that you should weigh-in Friday, then you've got a whole week to make up for any weekend slippages (I know I'm repeating myself)

I want it to snow tonight so DH has to stay at home tomorrow (it's his day off but he's planning a trip to Durham to see about a change in career. a) it's the wrong job for him and b) I don't want him to go. But obviously being a man he has to be proved wrong having already wasted the time, instead of deciding it might not work out.

RGPargy · 04/02/2009 12:58

Good thinking Ria!! I will earn points for boozing on Saturday with! yay!! Friday is a good day to weigh in, i have to agree as it's my lightest day from being good all week (or at least most of it!).

Men always need to be proved wrong Ria. I suppose if he doesn't try it he'll always be left wondering "what if...." What sort of career change is it? I wanted one of those once. I'm a legal secretary (yawn yawn) and wanted to be an aerobics instructor, believe it or not!! I even did an evening class to become an aerobics instructor but i've not taken a single class and this was many moons ago (1998-ish i think).

OP posts:
keepingitRia · 04/02/2009 13:06

that's a scary co-incidence RG. In about 1996 when I was a size 14/16 publishing assistant I wanted to be an aerobics instructor! (The year before that I fancied being an auctioneer) I never got as far as doing anything aboutit though. I got married and had DS1 instead

he is thinking of packing in cooking (cos of the pain, and generally being pissed on by his employers) and being a rep for a catering supplier instead. (we go through this quite regularly actually, he has been for induction days twice with a different company, and they never get back in touch. and of course, the induction days are always over 2 hours drive away...) Thing is, he's been approached to be top-dog ina new hotel venture in a couple of months, so it's a silly time to be looking at something else anyway, until he finds out how much of the other offer is hot air. I am thinking with the crunchy climate, now is not the best time to be new in sales?

RGPargy · 04/02/2009 13:50

How spooky Ria!! At the time i was a size 12/14! You'd never know it now tho!

I agree that this is not the right time to go into sales. Sales is bloody hard as it is, let alone when people are really really watching the pennies! You are right in that he should stick it out til the top dog hotel venture pulls off and then if nothing happens from that, THEN go out looking for something new!

Well, i am officially pissed off lol. I was in the lift on my own coming up from the ground floor. It got to the 8th floor and then the automated voice said "Lift Overloaded". Well i am taking that as a sign that i really should crack down with my dieting lol

OP posts:
keepingitRia · 04/02/2009 14:14

can you slap a lift?

RGPargy · 04/02/2009 14:58

No, but you can bloody well kick it rather hard!!!

OP posts:
keepingitRia · 04/02/2009 16:54

Ha I won! DH not going to Durham he is going to the other hotel to give them a hand. Hope that will move things on a bit cos he really hates his current job. Shame he won't be at home though.

Diet not going well today. I blame DH

RGPargy · 04/02/2009 17:03

Yay Ria!!! Well done on your powers of persuasion!

I've had a Marathon/Snickers bar today so i'm already a little over my points (including dinner). Oopsie!

OP posts:
keepingitRia · 04/02/2009 17:06

it wasn't really down to me RG, but anyway.

keepingitRia · 05/02/2009 14:18

so, do I go out in the rain early to add another 15 mins to the afternoon school run? I came back the long way this morning as it was dry.

RGPargy · 05/02/2009 21:59

Hope you went for it Ria! As long as you're dry the rain's not too bad!

OP posts:
keepingitRia · 05/02/2009 22:17

by the time I got DS3 ready and fitted the sodding rain cover to the buggy there was no time. (I hate the rain cover with a passion. I nearly burst into tears trying to put it on at school the other week)
I'm sure we'll cover some ground tomorrow on the big shopping trip with Dsis though (she has a big night out and needs help choosing something to wear. AIBU to choose something I like ready for when she "slims out of it" and gives it to me because it's too big)

RGPargy · 06/02/2009 22:28

lol Ria! How was the shopping trip? What did you buy yourself Dsis?

OP posts:
keepingitRia · 06/02/2009 22:53

shopping trip was great thanks. the purchases are not me, but far better than the predicted Bet-Lynch-style scary gold and black that I'm sure she would have bought on her own/with her DH. she got 3 tops - a beaded black cami, a black 60s style smock think with puffy sleeves (that I didn't like) and a really nice green shimmery tunic that is lovely (although she was a bit when I said it would be nice in summer with white linen trousers, or with jeans) and some evening-type trousers that had a kind of sheer black over-trouser with a slit up the leg. Hard to describe but nice (for dsis, not my style at all)

I bought an xmas tablecloth & teatowels in the sale, and stuff for the boys

Lunch was interesting, no highchairs and not even a sniff of a salad garnish with our sandwiches

A lovely day, but have come home to more DS1 stress

anyway, walking is the key word for this weekend, not going to stress about food til Monday. Healthy but what I fancy tomorrow and a big meat and veg stew on Sunday for after the planned picnic and walk. Hope the weather is kind.

Is it your new class tomorrow RG?good luck if so.

RGPargy · 06/02/2009 23:21

Shopping sounds nice! Good for you for stocking up on Xmas stuff early. I should take a leaf out of your book lol. Sorry you had stress with DS1. How old is he?

Yes the class is tomorrow morning at 10am. I'd forgotten all about it until you mentioned it! Think i will just go along and sit in with the class before i comit to joining that class. I'll have to carry DD in the mei tai tho i think because it's snowed here again and pushchairs are a nightmare in the snow lol.

OP posts:
keepingitRia · 07/02/2009 12:17

DS1 is nearly 12. He is normally a well behaved, good natured, extremely polite, respectful, considerate and helpful child, but school seems to bring out he worst in him

hope you liked your new group.

keepingitRia · 07/02/2009 12:18

it is too grim for walking today

RGPargy · 07/02/2009 14:39

Oh the dreaded teenage years are fast approaching, i fear! Wish i could say he'll change for the better overnight but i wouldn't want to lie to you. The only advice i can give is to keep the reins pulled in tight!

Didn't go to WW today as DD didn't wake up til 9.20am! Mind you, she played up last night and didn't go to bed til about 10pm so it's no wonder she laid in.

I've had to sling her up in the mei tai today for her nap as she is refusing to go down for a sleep. Little madam!

Beautiful sunshine here on a thin layer of snow. Perfect walking weather. Hope the weather's more favourable for you tomorrow Ria.

OP posts:
keepingitRia · 07/02/2009 19:45

sounds like lovely weather. we went into town, which was a mistake as it resulted in DS2 slipping in the street and skidding on his chin for a distance similar to his height. A lovely lady in the nearby shop we went in to buy tissues mopped him up and got the company first aider who sent us to A&E. He is glued together and steri-stripped, though we have been back to hospital (20 min one way trip) as we thought he was "coming apart". They have re-glued him and we are home, feeding him tiny bird sized pieces of bread Poor lamb.

On a positive note DS1 was a joy in the hospital helping look after DS3 so I could concentrate on DS2. And DS3 is in bed as DH got him to sleep during my second trip.

RGPargy · 07/02/2009 23:31

Oh Ria, what a horrible day for you and DS2!! Poor little thing. Hope his chin gets better very soon. Ouch!!! xx

OP posts:
keepingitRia · 08/02/2009 18:58

he has perked up a bit today thanks RG. he has been happily playing at cooking with DS3

So, new start tomorrow, stress permitting (there is stuff to be sorted with DS1s school tomorrow, although DH is doing that). My new SW mag came in the post yesterday, so that should spur me on.

I saw a woman at the supermarket last night who used to have kids at school, and she was very large then. Last night she was about a 3rd of the person she used to be. I asked my friend who is her friend and apparently she has been doing SW for a year or so. She looks so different. It is real life proof that it can be done.

RGPargy · 11/02/2009 22:41

Hello! Where is everyone?!!

Glad he's perked up Ria.
