There are lots of clients 50-70 - so don't worry about age. Our skin is probably less elastic than 20 or 30 years ago - so we may have less good results. I'm pleased with they way my skin is retracting after loosing over 5 1/2 stones. the least good results at the mo are on my upper arms - however I'd rather have loose upper arms and be wearing size 18 jeans than plumped up full upper arms and size 26/28!
Malik and Megammal - treatments shouldn't hurt - though there will always be the hum in the ars of teh ultrasound. Make sure you are well hydrated - ie don't hold back on drinking water just cos you've got a weigh in. If you do, you loose the full effect of drinking your water one day in seven. being hydrated helps with the ultrasound - and they should add extra gel if you need it. Give your therapist feed back on the hoovering and they'll adjust the levels. I actually ask for strong sometimes now! And I actually started enjoying it after 3 or 4 weeks.
And congratulations Malik on your losses. Do come over to the Alizonne forum and share them with everyone. There are also more recipes and other news.
Worral: I had a small hand held - and it takes forever to use - so I do recommend finding a local therapist - there are various brand names for non invasive ultrasound and you can combine it with endermologie aka in Alizonne as hoovering. I travel over 3 1/2 hours to the Alizonne clinic. I really like the GP supervision and the quality of the protein sachets is really good - even if some flavours aren't great. You might want to look at the Kee Diet (looks like they have great flavours) or Save & Slim.
I had a low day yesterday - think I was flooded with hormones being released from my fat. Today is a better day and it's good to be over half way.
I sta
rted at 21st 5.4lb (somehow I had noted the first week weigh in as my start date - so this is a few lbs higher than stated elsewhere) and am now 15st10lb. My goal weight 11st 6lb which will still leave me at over 25 BMI - it's based on the fact that I've been over 25 all my adult life. My Start BMI was 48.3 and I'm now at 35.5 and have lost 26.52% of my starting weight.
What's strage is that it's only in the last stone that I've felt the difference. My thin friends assumed at a couple of stone, I'd feel better. It wasn't so for me. And yet when I carried a suitcase up the stairs yesterday, I felt it was realy heavy. And I've lost twice as much weight as the suitcase. I suppose wearing it as a fat suit meant it was so obvious I was lugging it around.
So my weight loss to date is 5st 9.4lb. I never thought I would see the 15s again - so this is really good. In another stone (a month or so) I'll be into phase 2 - with a protein meal in the evenings - I'm looking forward to chicken, prawns, scallops and will check if i can have crab - as it'll still be in season. I will be still be Alizonning through the summer - phased off in September, I expect.
So my thoughts at this stage are that the shedding weight is the easy bit.
Yes - it is expensive. having failed at lots of other systems I am glad I can afford to make the investment in myself without surgery and that I am changing the way my body works.
I am amazed that as I thought I was destined to be fat forever. It was always wierd as the rest of my life is pretty sussed, and I found it hard as a really capable woman, beloved wife and successful business woman that I felt powerless to get and stay healthy.
Sometimes it seems like it will take forever. But then the days and weeks slide by and already I am over half way through. I am spending quite a lot of time thinking about how I will stay at goal.
Stopping drinking lots of sweet diet drinks is part of the training for us. There's also evidence that it screws up our systems making our bodies expect sugar. Protein 5 times a day, the salads at lunch time and veggies in the evenings and learning to manage portions with the weighing of permitted veg is also part of training.
I was suprised that one therapist said quite a few Alizonners don't continue with the monitoring for the year afterwards. It isn't done until you have stayed at goal for a year. And then we still need to be alert that our way of living 9and eating) must be monitored for the rest of our lives to avoid sliding back into poor habits. Monitoring in the year after shedding is part of the programme and is essential. I will do that, even if it seems a hassle to go for 15 minutes. It is an external monitoring and I need the help to retain and engrain the changes to my way of living.
I am more happy at being into size 18 jeans and have a size 16 dress for a wedding later this month than I am for the actual weight loss. To a certain extent, the numbers aren't really important - as long as I'm getting to a healthy happy weight which I can sustain.
