Right - I HAVE to lose 1 1/2 stone. And tone up... anyone wanna join me in a vague kick up the arse thread?

I need this weight gone.

It is making me seriously depressed (not in a vague "oh god that's depressing" way, in a very very low, slightly suicidal, don't want to be seen in public kind of way).

I was 6 months pregnant the only time I have weighed this much before.

Just the basics - exercise more in some way, eat better, eat less etc. Was thinking a weekly weigh in might help shame me into doing it.

I'm back up to 11st 2lb so much for that faddy diet the other week, but then again I know they don't work, it is very good for a quick fix if you have something special you want to drop a few pound for quickly though .

well we've all had a bit of a crap week!!.

i'm going to try to do more exercise this week.

i might give the weigh in a miss on sunday and do it the week after, cuz i'm getting seriously demoralised!!

I have eaten crap all week and done sod all, but I have lost the 2lb I put on, so am back to 11st 3lb.

Can I join?

I have been doing really well post DC2 but put a bit back on over Christmas. Was down to 9,11.

Last weigh in on Wii Fit I was 10st exactly.
Aiming for 8st 7lb by June (if not earlier) when I'm going to Bermuda for a wedding.
First goal is 9,7 by Feb 6th (my birthday).

Right. I guess I better join you all, then.

Only 6 weeks post-natal and had a c-section, so not up for anything drastic, but must start doing some form of gentle exercise and STOP stuffing my face with biscuits and wine all day long. I want to lose about a stone and a half, too.

My problem is that I need to seriously address my comfort eating, which replaced my 20-a-day habit about 4 years ago (which is when i went from a size 10-12 to a size 14-16...think I'm more 16-18 right now, actually.

Anyhooo...

Could do with some support. Supposed to be 'starting on Monday' (terrible procrastination, but have my reasons...). Going to start a daily walking thing then, and try to lay off sugary shit a bit

have you read paul mckenna 'i can make you thin'? (i have wittered on about him earlier in thread!)
he's got some good strategies for changing the way you think about body image, food, comfort eating etc.

MrsMattie - i had a c-s with ds2 too
and found it hard to get motivated to do much of anything except comfort eat afterwards!

The things that got me started with weight loss (gone from 18 to 12, or 11+stone to under 10 (pre-Xmas) ) are:

  • changing some basic habits like 2/3 biscuits with every cuppa to one or none
  • full fat milk to skimmed
  • butter to margarine
  • walking to any baby groups if poss
  • not finishing off the DCs meals, even if it felt wasteful
  • sometimes eating tea with the DCs to stop me snacking/eating too much later on
  • telling friends i was trying to lose weight so they stopped offering me all the biscuits/cakes/etc.
oh, and a tummy bug, not recommended!

Hey joosey don't worry, if you lost it once, you can do again!

So is Sunday weigh in day?
Will enjoy myself until then finishing up Christmas food/treats and start from my new maximum! then when i start being good again i will hopefully lose the first pounds easily, lol.

we have a lot of goodies still to plough through, plus dd is really into baking atm.

she's made something called miracle bars today, which contain coconut, nuts, chocolate and condensed milk! can't see me getting any self control anytime soon!!

I've been to a circuit class tonight. Been doing yoga on the DS for a week now - did 20 mins in total today. I was just doing the lessons on it, but want to start one lesson at night, and one 5 min session in the morning - it is a good grounding for the day

How's it going?

I'm now 11st 7oz. Not a huge drop considering how little I have been eating (no appetite), but still something.

Had a car accident though, so circuits and yoga are off for a while Lots of "rest" really ain't gonna do me much good!
