Welcome ladies of the Due August 2008 thread. Today is your day to begin REDEFINING your Post-Baby Body.

Please take a moment to STATE your SHORT TERM goal(s) and to STATE your LONG TERM goal(s) for overall health. This may include a weight you would like to reach, a fitness level you would like to attain, or size you would like to fit into.

I ask that you post at least twice a week. First to state what you plan to do during the week to reach your above goal(s). Then an end of the week post to let us know how you faired. BE HONEST! This is a SUPPORT THREAD so if you didn't find time to run a mile, admit it. Maybe someone else did the same and needs a running partner...thus a MEET-UP a might solve the problem. If you went above and beyond your expectations for the week, tell us and be an inspiration.

Now let's get started.

VG it's feels so good to do the plank hold. IMO if you start with that exercise after a few weeks push-ups are MUCH easier. Plus is does the most incredible job on your core (tummy & back) muscles. Try it Try it Try it

20-min miles now I really need to time mine to see. I'm just going off of what I remember doing in highschool pe. I feel like I'm pushing myself harder now but maybe not. Why did I ever stop running? I loved track.

No exercising today. YEAH!!! Breaks are nice.

Sazzles THAT's AWESOME!! Tomorrow I'm going to try to go deeper in my push-up. Would like to, one day, be able to touch my nose to the floor mid-push.

Side note: I find it easier to do push-ups and sit ups after my brisk walk. I seem warmer. It almost feels like the blood pumping through me helps with the LIFT.

Thanks for that hiking info. That makes me think I'm on target with my 15 min miles....because I'm almost jogging, brisk walk without the bounce. Maybe once I get wipped back into shape I'll start hiking again. Would mean DH would have to do the same. I did mention he's going to the gym every day now. My example is proving to be a positive one.

Sazzles I peered into the pool area this morning thinking, 'I could stay a few more minutes and swim some lapse too.' So I guess that means you are an inspiration as well. Since boot camp only lasts 4.5 more weeks, I might continue my Tuesday/Thursday morning exercise time and try swimming.

Good job with almost reaching your prepreggers count.

criss-crossed the numbers
YOU DID REACH YOUR PREPREGGERS COUNT!!

That's brilliant, Sazzles! Gosh, well done. I really think I have to rethink my reservations about leaving ds in the creche thing at the gym or I am never going to get any exercise done . It's so good for the blues as well as the bod.

Impressed. Well done .

TwilightSurfer · 21/01/2009 12:27

I totally agree with you VG. I'm going to have to bite the bullet too. Just keep coming up with excuses. Kids are fine in there and it's not like we're leaving them and then going across town. We're all in the same building.

Well said and nicely done Sazzles.

{{{HUGS}}} VG

I have been given a stern (sp?) talking to by new doc. He loves the fact that I am so active but stressed that overdoing it will not benefit me. He checked my CSscar and it hurt inside (deep) some but he said who's to say that's not from the 30 crunches plus that I did yesterday. He just wants me to be careful. Might need to sit out of boot camp tomorrow. Will rest this evening and reassess in the morning.

Thanks for the kindness Sazzles. To see the scar you'd hardly know I'd be sliced. It's the under the skin stuff that's the bother. There's a lot of muscle retraining going on so soreness is expected. Just worrisome due to the circumstances. The doc was very tightlipped about his opinion regarding the CS but his facial expressions were easy to read. He went into great detail about which muscles (and where) were cut. He really really stressed that those muscles take a very long to time to truly heal. I soooo wish I'd already been a patient in his practice BEFORE the pregnancy. Can't change history though. On and Up.

For the record: I did not attend Boot Camp this morning. My incision was hurting and I was utterly exhausted from only have a few hours of sleep at a time for more than two weeks PLUS having been given a vaccine booster yesterday. I ended up sleeping like a ROCK last night and thought the sleep was better for my health at the moment than the exercise.

Plan to go walk by the river today if the weather warms a bit.

OP posts:
VintageGardenia · 22/01/2009 14:04

Well judged TS.

River walk sounds nice and as Sazzles pointed out yesterday you must take it easy. It sounds as if you are a naturally strong & healthy type but there is no point in pushing yourself too far.

Can I join you on the walk?

TwilightSurfer · 22/01/2009 14:09

Please do. It would be so so very nice.
