Welcome ladies of the Due August 2008 thread. Today is your day to begin REDEFINING your Post-Baby Body.

Please take a moment to STATE your SHORT TERM goal(s) and to STATE your LONG TERM goal(s) for overall health. This may include a weight you would like to reach, a fitness level you would like to attain, or size you would like to fit into.

I ask that you post at least twice a week. First to state what you plan to do during the week to reach your above goal(s). Then an end of the week post to let us know how you faired. BE HONEST! This is a SUPPORT THREAD so if you didn't find time to run a mile, admit it. Maybe someone else did the same and needs a running partner...thus a MEET-UP a might solve the problem. If you went above and beyond your expectations for the week, tell us and be an inspiration.

Now let's get started.

Sambo very well done on the water intake. That is awesome.

Sazzles I can't wait to see your spreadsheet handy work. Will my bootcamp stuff be under gym or shall I break it down by activity?

Sambo you work out your mileage on this site - keep zooming with it till you get to your area then you can plot your walking. Tis great.

VintageGardenia · 08/01/2009 08:29

Sorry [[http://www.walkjogrun.net/ here]

sambo303 · 08/01/2009 22:31

OMG that website is AWESOME, have spent most of today looking at family member's homes from the air plus peeking in neighbour's gardens

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 08/01/2009 22:51

sambo tis great isnt it??
vg didnt know about tracking routes though. That is good.

Well I have made a start today. Been for a walk, and I have drunk about 4 large beakers of water today and 2 glasses of cranberry and water.
Pasta for tea.
Not bad start I suppose

(fails to mention thorntons and celebrations for breakfast)

oopsacoconut · 08/01/2009 22:54

WOW No1 & Oops those are some really nice reports. You are both starting off very nicely this year.

VG totally cool link. Very useful!!

I decide in the morning (my morning not your morning as it's already morning for you) whether to attempt the boot camp at the Y. I'm ignoring the crappy state I'm in with the beginnings of a headcold and trying to focus on the big picture (and the fact that the cold will pass). Hopefully I will make the right decision.

i put my name on the list for boot camp. i will be at the ymca at 5:15am on tuesday to begin the 6 week course.

while there i re-uped my membership. we dropped it back mid-pregnancy because i could do much. dh said he wants to start working out sooooooo we'll see. at least i can start taking dd1 to swim again. they have a nursery too so while dd1 is in school i can drop reese in and go workout or swim.

will be confronted with a big challenge in the morning. it's suppose to be rainy. to run/walk in the rain or not......what will i choose?

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 11/01/2009 09:42

wow ts well done you thats an early start, but supposed to be good time to work out.
very of all these pools with creche.
Why cant I find one

TwilightSurfer · 11/01/2009 15:42

No1 for some strange reason I have ALWAYS been a morning workout person. When I've tried to work out in the afternoon I've failed. I'm very excited.

As for the pool and creche, maybe you should lobby for one in your area. Sometimes we have to go out and MAKE THINGS HAPPEN to get what we need.

WEEK 6
My Sunday morning ritual is still going strong. Had to stop mid workout today to change shoes. I stupidly put on my old running shoes instead of my new Merrells because they were closer to me when I got dressed. Saved myself a blister though. Might need to toss those running shoes!

TARGETs ACCOMPLISHED from last week...
Not the grandest of efforts this past week. I was EXTREMELY tired all week long with little time to sleep PLUS I came down with a cold.

weightloss tba

sambo303 · 14/01/2009 16:00

hopped on some scales at swimming today - have 5lbs to lose to get to pre pg weight so have lost 23lbs in 11 weeks (last weighed self in October) so about 2lbs per week. Not sure what the rate of loss has been , so I think I'll go for 1lb per week target and try to weigh myself weekly when I go swimming. Anyhoo, am very pleased with self what with 303 mince pies consumed over xmas .

sambo303 · 14/01/2009 16:01

ts saw your text to Sazzles re boot camp being EASY! You are HARDCORE

TwilightSurfer · 14/01/2009 16:24

LOL!! Sambo the first class was easy because the drill instructor was seeing what the fitness level of the class was. Seems there's those of us who will do well then there are those that probably won't make it. The instructor called last night to get my thoughts on how she did. She was worried the lower end folks my have not liked her approach. She's was fine though...I told her not to worry.

As for me, today I don't feel bad at all but my CS area is giving me some twinges. I was POOPED last night but I don't think it was the class. I'd been up since 3am without a nap so by 8pm I was a ZOMBIE. DH just let me crash and took over the evening chores. BLESS HIM!

I'm still tired today but I'm working my ass off for several different things. I'm looking forward to the workout in the morning because it WILL NOT INVOLVE my laptop or my blackberry.

Still upright almost 12 hours after boot camp day 2 so maybe I'll be okay.

anybody here HELLO ..HELLO ....HELLO

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 16/01/2009 17:31

would anyone like me to share what exercises i'm doing in boot camp? they are really no-brainers. you can do them at home. i can feel they are working.

OP posts:
VintageGardenia · 16/01/2009 17:36

sorry I've not been around

I am still very pro this thread.

TS I am really impressed that you've done this and I would LOVE to know what they have you doing .

VintageGardenia · 16/01/2009 17:39

REason I have not been reporting here is mainly as I have put on 2 pounds not really sure why unless is to do with water consumption very much down as I find I can only drink the water when I am going to be able to visit the bathroom as I need to! When I am driving lots and have ds with me all the time can be hard to manage.

Pretty farking annoyed at the 2 lb though.

Although dp went to medical the other day and said the doc's scales weighed him at 5lbs lighter than on the scales at home

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 16/01/2009 18:01

vg I am different weight on different scales.
I also try to weigh with same clothes.

ts I would love to know what your doing too.

Sibh · 16/01/2009 18:23

Hi all. I've been thinking of the list, but hiding from it. I finally weighed myself this morning and I was 9 13, so I've lost the three pounds I put on over Christmas. I've borrowed a double buggy this week too and as soon as rain stops sheeting in from the atlantic I'll be out and about. I'd forgotten over christmas how much walking I get done in the normal run of things and adding exercise on top of that should shift some of the stone I still have to lose.

After I weighed myself two things happened:

  1. one of the mums at school congratulated me on looking skinny, which was frankly untrue but kind 2)I'd done tiny favours for another mum who was ill this week and she called in this evening bearing the most enormous chocolate and cream cake; what my dad would call admiringly 'a sweet cake'. It would be rude to ignore it wouldn't it?

DS is underweight, despite eating like a horse. I'll feed it to him, I think.

It wasn't me that attacked the top of it with a teaspoon, honest.

Sambo-that is a great achievement. Are mince pies calorie-negative?

VintageGardenia · 16/01/2009 18:26

Ooh well done on 3lbs down! Yes I forgot how much walking I normally do too.

I haven't started my tennis oh there are too many things I haven't done to go into them here.

If we were on the other thread I would say I'll be down to you shortly to help you on the sweet cake front, but given where we are ... I will just say I hope your DS enjoys it!
