so far i am quite enjoying this diet - although will i still lose weight if i take the "eat as much as you like of free food" literally? i think i had the biggest bowl of psta ever known to man for my tea - after counting points & weioghing tiny portions out on weight watchers i am unsure how eating so much food will help me lose weight, but it must work??!!

thanks christie - is that part of the diet or is it purely for a healthy balance?

does anyone know how many syns in a box of popcorn from the cinema? i have had no syns today and none yesterday so I am hoping i will have enough for some popcorn tonight when i go to the pics?

also i borrowed my friend syn book a while ago and it had places to eat out such as starbucks listed in it, but the new one doesnt have these in, is there a separate book you can buy as an eating out guide does anyone know?

thanks! sorry for all the questions!!

Hi, have just found this SW link, I joined back in February but as I have a 20mth DS was unable to stay so felt under pressure not to go as the SW leader made me feel so bad as I would run in, get weighed and run out (too much stress with baby in tow), really wanted to keep going but she wasn't interested in me if I didn't stay.
Need to lose 35 pounds, have lost 9 on my own, only another 26 to go!!! Feeling positive now I can do it as DH is helping me...7 weeks until my holiday would love to lose a stone....is it possible ????!!

BethAndHerBrood · 04/05/2005 17:57

Hi there!!

It is possible but you will need to be focused and not cheat!!!! To lose 2lb a week is quite tricky week in week out, but i'm sure it can be done. You are more likely to lose 1lb one week, 3 the next, 1.5 the next, etc...... What you have to remember is the weight loss needs to be averaged out over the weeks, don't feel it's the end of the world if you don't lose 2lbs every week.

Focus on what you've lost already and keep positive!!!

Good luck with it, and keep posting!!!

is there a way of working out the syns in something (weight watchers had a calculator and you used the sat fat/calories to work out points) just wondered if there is something similair on slimming world as all the things i seem to be looking up arent listed in the directory (or i cant find them) and i am not going to classes so cant look on internet!

SPARKLER1 · 08/05/2005 11:09

Hello all - I'm back. Seriously thinking about starting the diet again tomorrow. Won't be going back to group but am going to try and do it myself. Still have plenty of food diaries left over from when I went two months ago. I have put on well over half a stone since I stopped going and the new clothes I bought are really tight. .
My BF is getting married in July and I want to lose some before that.
Lots of encouragement and support needed please.

Hi Sparkler, how are you? I have just rejoined sw too. Am at the heaviest I've been for a long time and am determined to lose this time too sp I'd appreciate lots of encouragement too - and a good kick up the backside when I don't behave
Think the better weather help too - or is that just me being optimistic
Going away for my anniversary at the end of June and want to lose some weight before that.

Hi all - have been to my first SW meeting this week and could do with a bit of company! My sister has lost over 4 stone with them so it must work for her at least. I am finding it a bit tricky to work out (being a WW girl really) does it get easier?
