its quiet on here.

Have my weigh in tonight, last week I lost 2.5lbs was totally shocked as I hafd eaten crap all week. will see ewhat I have lost this week if any as haven't stuck to the diet at all. My figure is slowly returning. I seem to rememeber when dd was ds age that my weight suddenly started to go. Ds is 10 months do you think it could be possible that my body has finly got rid of the pg hormones and started to kick start itself into losing the excess fat!!!!!. if that makes sense.

Where is everyone

karen01 · 21/04/2005 16:13

Just been weighed and I lost an amazing 4lbs this week so am very pleased with my self.
Only 2and a half pounds to go then I have lost a stone in six weeks. (if I lose it this week.)

hi, please can i join this thread?

i am new to slimming world, i joined on monday to get the information, but am just going to weigh myself at home as really cant afford the classes.

its taking me a while to get used to it, but so far i think i have done ok and stuck to it.

can anyone tell me, in the food optomising book, it says under both red/green day healthy extras that a grab and go, 1 healthy extra counts for 2 ryvita's, then underneath it also says 4 ryvitas - which is it?!

thanks xx

BethAndHerBrood · 27/04/2005 16:25

Having 2 ryvitas makes it a speed food, i think, having 4 is the more filling choice, therefore not so speedy!!!! Does that make sense??? But you can have either, or compromise and have 3!!!!

Hello I'm new! Went to Slimming World for 1st time yesterday. I did weightwatchers for 10 years on and off till I got sick of it, but nothing for the last 6 years. Wonder if you can advise me as don't think I can do this. Will attempt to be brief! Dh and I have made great strides in recent months in getting lots of processed foods out of our diet including all "diet" foods but it seems that in order to survive I would have to get in the spray oil, very low fat yoghurt/cottage cheese/marg etc and this feels wrong and like a backwards step. Also I have a 50g bowl of porridge in the morning or museli, about 3oz, which does not leave me much for the rest of the day. I am a SAHM with a 20 month old with no time to cook loads, ds is so demanding atm I struggle to cook our evening meal let alone SW breakfasts and lunches. We eat butter and wholemilk yoghurt. I have to force myself to eat fruit, and I'm not keen on baked potatoes or baked beans. Am I a hopeless case???

Demented · 27/04/2005 21:31

kiera, I am by no means a SW expert but am not keen on too much in the way of processed food. I don't particularly like cottage cheese so don't have it, if you prefer something more natural in the way of low fat yoghurt, would Total 0% Greek be suitable for you? It is free on either day, it is just plain Greek yoghurt, lovely with fruit or splash a syn or two on some honey in it. The oil thing is something I wonder about, certainly you can have 1 tablespoon as a HE on either day but it's not always how you want to spend your HE. I was going to ask (on here because I don't go to the classes anymore) about these oil spray dispensers that you can buy and fill yourself, I think you put a mixture of oil and water (?) in them, just wondered if a squirt or two of that would be free? Also I noticed in Tesco that they have a spray oil that seems to have less additives than the stuff that I have been using so that may be worth a look too.

I really think you can eat well on SW without touching processed foods or much in the way of processed foods.

All the best!

Demented · 27/04/2005 21:32

That is 1 tablespoon of Olive Oil as a HE.

Demented · 27/04/2005 21:35

Oh, and I just noticed you mentioned marg, I personally think marg (particularly the low fat stuff) tastes like sick and tend not to have anything on my bread (usually only eat bread with soup or toasted with some honey or a mashed banana on top, I'm not sitting eating dry bread ), I will use butter as an occasional treat and take it out of my syns.
