Haven't posted on here for ages. Got my half stone award this week It's taken ages and a change of consultant but I feel as if I'm starting to get somewhere now.
Have been invited to a sliver wedding at the end of April so would like to lose at least another half stone by then cos I'll need something new to wear
Have hurt my foot again (the one that I broke) running after a kid at work who had run away from me - that was Thursday and my foot is still swollen and painful
Anyone think of any exercise that wont put too much of a strain on the offending foot?

Thanks Christie, think I will try the swimming - Dd says she will come with me - should be fun
No I'm not a teacher - I'm a (whisper it) social worker and the child I had out last week has severe behavioural problems and poor impulse control - and there was a duck pond just in front of us. That's the main reason I ran - didn't want him to end up in the pond! Foot is still really sore though and I'm tired tonight - stressful day at work but I have been good and have managed to stick to the plan all day which is good for me - I usually eat when I'm stressed.
Also had Dd's parents evening but that was really good

That makes two of us Christie - bl**dy fed up - and like you I thought I'd been good

Helllllloooooo laydeez. I'm back at my group. I threw out my old book and I'm calling this my new start. I don't really care how much weight I lose, to be honest: I'm more interested in stopping my comfort-eating because it's making me feel not just depressed but depressed and FAT. Our rubbish consultant seems to be making a bit more of an effort this time around although she did suggest that after class we indulged in a kebab ('because what you eat after your weigh-in doesn't count!') Having a green day and DH is in kitchen making a syn-free veg chilli and rice.

Demented · 31/03/2005 23:27

LOL at the kebab Arabica! Did you have one?

SPARKLER1 · 02/04/2005 23:01

Hello everyone. I am still around - haven't vanished off the face of the earth. Am no longer a member of Slimming World and I have to say I am actually missing it quite a lot. It was actually a very social evening for me so I am missing the friends that I made at group.
As I thought, I am not sticking to the plan going alone. I keep thinking I will start afresh tomorrow and fill out a food diary at home. I can feel the weight piling on again and it's not a nice feeling. Must do something about it. Not easy having the kids home for the easter hols though. Maybe my fresh start can be the day they go back to school. Oh I don't know, I keep making excuses.............

Arabica · 03/04/2005 00:35

Hi Sparkler, glad to hear from you. You sound like you need to be back at group to keep that motivation going.
Demented, no, I didn't have a kebab!! I've been doing OK, lost 2lbs this week, but now the weather is so nice I am finding it hard to resist ice-cream. Keep having generous licks of DS' cornets and it just makes me crave it even more!

I don't know if you eat meat or not (a lot of meat eaters in my group hadn't tried veg sausages as thought they wouldn't like them but were proved wrong at the tasting we had last week) I like the Cauldron veggie sausages which (apart from the Cumberland and Lincolnshire varieties) are all either 1 or 1.5 syns each on both red and green days, and make a nice change from Quorn sausages.
I also eat loads of very low fat cottage cheese (usually syn free or v low syns for big pot) and the Quorn tikka pieces which are syn free.

Hi all I joined Slimming World 3weeks ago on Thursday. I lost 6lb in the first week then had no change in the second. I also started going to the Gym last week. I need to lose 4-5 stone. I have set my self a few targets. By june I want to have lost atleast a stone from what I am now then by 1st september I want to have lost 3-31/2 stone. I live in Cyprus so it is hard to get hold of some of the foods to give varity like no fat cottage cheese etc. Fruit and veg are not a problem here, so have been living of meat and salads. Still haven't read my leaflet properly so need to get to grips with what else I can have on the different days and Healthy choices. Good look all

BethAndHerBrood · 04/04/2005 12:54

Hi Karen!!! Welcome to the thread!!

Funnily enough, one of my targets is my holiday in september, to Cyprus!!!

I want to lose 1.5 pounds this week, then I will have lost 1.5 stone!!

Hi Karen, welcome to SW and congrats on the weight loss so far. People often find they lose a lot of weight in week one but then it should settle down to an average of 1lb pw.

alero81 · 04/04/2005 22:11

I have been looking around this site for helpful hints i guess on how to loose weight.
I just had a baby not to long, and I am now ready to get back in shape.
I gained 60 pounds with her and i am ready to get rid of it.
My main goal is not just for my self but i do not want her to grow up with a mom that can't run and play with her in the yard.
I am just not in good shape and was hoping one of you guys could help.

Arabica · 05/04/2005 16:53

On this thread we are following the Slimming World diet. It's the only one I've ever found that works!

karen01 · 05/04/2005 18:05

YG- I really need to read the books. To find out what I can have.

Today I have had Sherpherds pie with veg and 3/4 of a packet of Batchelors pasta in sauce.
