Juicing - two days in and I am still not hungry!

I decided last week to start juicing after seeing my cousin who had lost a stone in 3 weeks!! I only want to lose half a stone after the excesses of the summer so I thought starting off with a diet comprising vegetable and fruit juice might be interesting (as well as challenging).

So I bought a Juicemaster book (7lb in 7 days) and started juicing yesterday. Today I worked out to one of my DVDs for an hour and have just returned from the park with my DTS. I'm still not hungry!!

I have been drinking fresh juices, which are absolutely delicious as well as exhilerating and I feel fabulous. I plan to do this until Saturday so it will be interesting to see if Jason Vale's promise that you will not feel hungry at all holds true.

Was wondering if anybody else had tried this regime?

Absolutely (says the 5ft and half an inch twofalls )

I was trying to decide between the phillips and that one and whilst I am happy with my very juicy mini juicer, given the amount of apples you go through, lobbing in a whole one would be quite nice....

Lizzylou · 22/10/2008 21:40

I have the cheapo Tesco one (reduced to £19.99 from £40). It is loud, you do have to chop a bit, but it's fine, you get juice out of the spout so that OK!
Bugger to clean though!

Just did my spin class and feel very good (if tired).
Tried on a skirt today which I couldn't get over my hips last week and it fited great!
In just one week.
I am going to be a bloomin Goddess by Christmas.

Good Luck Lapin, it's a really good plan and v easy to stick to.

my recycle is full of wheatgrass bottles instead wine bottles which is a miracle in itself.

Lapin, you can download from jason's website the shopping list. He does recommend that you read the whole book first. I just skimmed through and got started.

GColdtimer · 22/10/2008 22:27

poshtottie, I couldn't find the shopping list on his site. I want to download it for my mum - could you link to it for me? Thanks

GColdtimer · 22/10/2008 22:29

and lol at the wheatgrass bottles!

LL, make the most of your wine in the next couple of days because I am afraid you will have to say goodbye to it for just a wee while

WaitingForCodot · 22/10/2008 22:38

We have LOTS of wine

WaitingForCodot · 22/10/2008 22:39

whhops, forgot about the name!

poshtottie · 22/10/2008 22:49

twofalls, can't seem to link it. If you go to his website and click on books and then 7lbs in 7 days it comes up in a box on the right. Took me ages to find it.

DivaSkyChick · 22/10/2008 23:39

www.juicemaster.com/media/images/Store/keeping_in_simple_shopping_list.jpg

Is that it?

DivaSkyChick · 22/10/2008 23:41

By the way, I just bought a second hand juicer and it turns out it's a Juice Master Jr. - not having received the book I didn't realize it's all the same.

Only, they don't sell the Juice Master blender on the website. I wonder if it's going to suck?

Waiting VERY impatiently for the book to come so I can join the goddesses!

GColdtimer · 23/10/2008 07:30

Excellent, thank you poshtottie, its here

Good luck diva!

reikimarie · 23/10/2008 09:17

Well I started day 1 of the plan yesterday, not been hungry yet! I mentioned I bought the post Phillips Al juicer, it is £20 off at Argos say only cost £80 in the end, my last juicer was crap. This tastes so professional! Also I bought a new blender, my other one was years old, and this one is phenomenal, it is electronic sensors and switches off on its own and is the Anthony Worrall Thompson one, or however you spell him!

My juices stay fresh a few hours in the fridge, so handy if the 11 a.m. and 8 a.m. juice is the same type.

All in all quite impressed! Worth the expense I feel. The blender was £35, £5 discount at Argos. However where pink lady apples are extra large you still have to cut them in two to fit in the juicer!

littleducks · 23/10/2008 09:40

i think im going to stop and start again in a few days or take a break today, kids are both all of a sudden ill, dd had a terrible upset stomach last night and ds has a cold and is a very clingy baby all of a sudden, one of them was up every half hour or so last night, am exhausted. I do realise that fresh fruit juice would be better for me but am too exhausted to juice so had cornflakes and 5 chocolate buttons for breakfast.

Will keep juicing (as i have all the gear oin the fridge)

chuffinell · 23/10/2008 10:01

ha ha littleducks i love your breakfast, hope your family are better soon

i have read the book, printed off the shopping list and reserved a cookworks signature whole fruit juicer at argos, has anyone tried this one, its all i can afford at the moment

i am shocked at the price of all the supplements on juicemaster website, has anyone tried cheaper alternatives? i want the bulking out stuff psillium as i am convinced i will starve on this programme.

foolishly i have bet my DH i can lose a stone by Christmas so am going to start on sunday. I am going out for a meal on friday night then another on saturday so i will be huge(r) if i carry on like this!

poshtottie · 23/10/2008 12:37

chuffinell, I got the supplements from holland and barratt, much cheaper.

chuffinell · 23/10/2008 12:45

thanks poshtottie will try them instead

spokette · 23/10/2008 13:56

I have been working so just popping in quickly to say congratulations to all you embarking on this programme and to all of you have lost weight.

I have not seen other thread but this is not a crash diet. It is a sustainable, healthy lifestyle imho.

Hurrah, I am going out tonight and have just comfortably got into a pair of jeans that I have been staring at wistfully for a good few months now!

I hope that encourages those of you who might be flagging a little bit

Lizzylou · 23/10/2008 20:40

OOH, hope you are having a good night Twofalls.
Have a nice clingy dress to wear for a Girls night out tomorrow night. NO massive stomach or love handles!

Well lastnight and this morning I have read this thread and am very interested so...I think Im going to join you all

I used to be anorexic and then bulimic now my eatings very stange, working hard to make it better but I binge eat alot! Have been having lots of smoothies and find that a good way to make sure Im eating healthily.

Can you help me choose a juicer please? One of the 3 that are 17.99 or 24.99. Wont get the cheapo one, and the others are far too much.

I think I read about 10 posts on here before I dashed off to the bookstore to buy the book!! I am now the proud owner of Juice Yourself Slim. I think its the most recent one! I am very very excited. I have my SIL visiting in 2 weeks and I know she will comment on how much weight I have put on since I last saw her (just like MIL did when she came out)

I am off out tomorrow to find a juicer, I have my fingers crossed that they will sell them here (Manila)

Please keep going with your inspirational stories!! And can I ask how much exercise you are all doing and how often??

I am sooooo excited about losing 7lbs! I have a stone to lose in total I think as that is approx how much I have put on since I met DP!!

LL, I will have to try and hide the juicer from DP too keep posting on how you are getting on!!

pumpkinscantdancethetango · 24/10/2008 14:07

Yummy just had my first one - 2 apples, handful of strawberries and a banana. Was lovely. Wanted to make a really tasty one for my first one so I wasn't put off

Lizzylou · 24/10/2008 14:36

I like them all, Pumpkin.
I eally like ones with raw beetroot in, which is odd.
Have yet to have to hold my nose and gulp it down!
Still weeing a lot!
On subject of exercise, I run (about once a week at the moment ) and go to a spinning class (once a week) try to do an exercise DVD at least once a week as well.
So not loads, but I can't believe that juices on their own can sustain me, it's very strange. I thought I'd get lightheaded or faint, but have been fine.
