Juicing - two days in and I am still not hungry!

spokette · 01/09/2008 13:07

I decided last week to start juicing after seeing my cousin who had lost a stone in 3 weeks!! I only want to lose half a stone after the excesses of the summer so I thought starting off with a diet comprising vegetable and fruit juice might be interesting (as well as challenging).

So I bought a Juicemaster book (7lb in 7 days) and started juicing yesterday. Today I worked out to one of my DVDs for an hour and have just returned from the park with my DTS. I'm still not hungry!!

I have been drinking fresh juices, which are absolutely delicious as well as exhilerating and I feel fabulous. I plan to do this until Saturday so it will be interesting to see if Jason Vale's promise that you will not feel hungry at all holds true.

Was wondering if anybody else had tried this regime?

let them eat cake - hope you've enjoyed your soup!

sockmonster - poor thing - just try and still e a bit healthy - no man flu doughnut-cures!

the thing with me is that i don't think i miss meat. if i sat and thought about it before i actually started, i would have been horified - but i feel good about it. trousers that didn't fit me a month ago are on today (yay!) but i won't weigh until saturday at the earliest.

nappyaddict · 12/11/2008 21:19

TSMOF - don't want to disappoint you but i too had lost 4lbs by day 4 with quite a bit of cheating but then i didn't lose anymore so realised if i really wanted it to work I had to go cold turkey and stop cheating. I am starting day 1 again tomorrow!

dramaqueen · 12/11/2008 21:33

Day 4 and I couldn't resist weighing myself....4lbs lost YAY! I think next week I will introduce a small evening meal and continue the juice during they day. I find that if I juice everything the evening before then I only have to clean the beast once.

LetThemEatCake · 12/11/2008 21:38

mmmm. my juice was fab. Sweet potato and squash, yum. Back on the juices tomorrow morning!

Had a wee handful of raisins after, fancied something sweet.

It's my birthday party on Sat night and I am undecided on outfit - if I post pics tomorrow will you, my fellow juicers, help me decide? Don't want post on style & beauty, they are mean over there.

Will you help me?

LetThemEatCake · 12/11/2008 21:38

my juice was fab, ugh, what an idiot. My soup, I mean.

PersephoneSnape · 13/11/2008 06:50

i think we need to avoid mean people at all costs at the mo - I can't guarentee that i have good taste though

bouncingblueberries · 13/11/2008 07:55

I'm a bit miffed with myself today.

Jumped on the scales and have only lost 1lb since Monday. Got really mad at first, thinking, What? I haven't cheated!! I've been really really good. Then I remembered....

The bag of jelly babies
The handful of wine gums
The not so small sliver of chocolate cake
The chocolate fudge icing I pinched while giving ds some cake
The nuts and raisins I've been picking at
The rice I finished off that ds left

Hmm. If that's not cheating then I don't know what is!

Going to go back to basics today and have the juice and nothing but the juice, then soup for dinner and see how I get on.

LetThemEatCake - we'll help you chose an outfit!

Have a juicy day everyone [cringe]

thesockmonsterofdoom · 13/11/2008 07:56

right man flu has turned into just a cold, so I am back with you. got my lovely lovely juice and I still bounced out of bed this morning despite being poorly.
I will hopefully get back to the gym tommorow if I can breath.

chuffinell · 13/11/2008 10:09

chuffinell reporting in for juicy news (groan)

my weight loss has also stabilised so i need to stop cheating too! and also do a bit of exercise - i hate it!

Bouncing, we have both been very naughty juice cheats, and must sit on the naughty step if we can get our fat backsides on it

sockmonster, all the vit C in juices will help your manflu cold

letthemeatcake, put some outfits up, we can all help, and copy your style! happy birthday

my jaw line is visible for the first time in years unhindered by layers of chins, so i must go to Aldi after work and stock up on fruit n veg.

good luck to us all x

bouncingblueberries · 13/11/2008 11:14

You're so right Chuffinell!

Just went out for a run - couldn't drag my fat ass out of bed at 5.15am this morning to go. Was sitting freezing at my desk, so thought, stuff it. The only thing that's going to warm me up is some exercise.

Feel much better now and determined not to succumb to any naughty cheats today.

Have a long meeting tomorrow so I'm going to ignore the odd stares and take my juice and smoothie in with me. I don't care if my client thinks I'm bonkers!

Right, off to do some serious work now.

PersephoneSnape · 13/11/2008 11:32

I made up a litre or so of super boost juice (lovingly refered to as 'green glop') to take into work with me today - i had a third of it mid morning (after carrots, beetroot and apples for breakfast) and am looking forwards to a brisk walk at lunch. i feel a bit light headed/headachey, but i think thats a cold starting, rather than a reaction to the green glop.

nappyaddict · 13/11/2008 11:55

Do Aldi/Lidl sell raw beetroot and watercress? I couldn't find any when I went.

chuffinell · 13/11/2008 12:40

nappyaadict - no they dont, i substitute watercress with mixed green salad (its all greenery isnt it?!)

persephone i get headaches with it too - i think its a common problem. like the glop, my DH called it a glass of snot, but i still make him drink it!

bouncing, who cares what your clint thinks when next time you see them you will look like Kate Moss on a skinny day

chuffinell · 13/11/2008 12:46

clint??? i meant client of course - us skinny birds are so dizzy

nappyaddict · 13/11/2008 12:50

what do you subsitute the beetroot with?

chuffinell · 13/11/2008 12:53

yes sorry forgot to mention - i just leave it out and do other recipes without beetroot in

PersephoneSnape · 13/11/2008 14:04

LIDL does do beetroot - it's in a vacuum packed pack with juice - no preservatives as far as i can see - don't think they do fresh.

i weighed myself at lunchtime. couldn't resist. do bear in mind i have around 5 stones to lose, so my weight loss is the usual first week of cutting out all the crap loss as well. And my start weight was also pre menstrual, so there is probably some fluid retention in there too.

started eating fruit/veg on saturday.

have lost 7lbs!!!

nappyaddict · 13/11/2008 14:09

persephone - that's cooked though isn't it, not raw?

missnatalie · 13/11/2008 14:35

Oohh can i join in please. Gave birth to DS1 in Feb and have found it really hard to shift the baby weight. Currently weigh 14st 6lb and want to get down to 11st - 11st 6lb. Have tried lots of different diets which only work for the first 48 hrs before the unger / cravings overtake and i give up. Hope that juicing is the way forward for me.

Where can i get the book from?

Lizzylou · 13/11/2008 14:40

Letthemeatcake, I'd love to see your outfits for theis weekend.
I will be kind, promise!

My weight has stabilised but have been being "naughty" and not doing as much exercise/eating wrong stuff. Looking on the bright side, I would have put weight on normally, so my 3 juices a day are obv helping!

bouncingblueberries · 13/11/2008 15:01

missnatalie - welcome aboard!

Many people just ordered their books from Amazon but I managed to find a copy of Juice Yourself Slim in Waterstones. Depends how long you can wait to be slim and healthy I guess

Good luck!

LetThemEatCake - show us your outfits please

missnatalie · 13/11/2008 15:30

Ive been on the amazon site but theres a few different books by the same autor and im not sure which on to buy. I wanted the one thats got the recepies in but havnt got a clue which one it is. Can anyone help?

Lizzylou · 13/11/2008 15:46

It's the 7lbs in 7 days one, Natalie.
Welcome, by the way, sorry for being rude before!
I was almost exactly the same weight as you 6mths+ after having my boys (youngest is 2.9yrs) and still 1/2 stone off your ideal weight. But thats coming off before Christmas!

LetThemEatCake · 13/11/2008 15:49

okey doke, about to upload

am a bit shocked actually. Have just weighed in at 10 stone, but looking at these photos I think I look much bigger. Hopefully just bad angle or something but am a bit dismayed tbh.

Ok give me a sec.

nappyaddict · 13/11/2008 15:51

missnatalie - juice yourself slim is the most recent book and the one i'm going to get.

has anyone preordered this?
