Juicing - two days in and I am still not hungry!

I decided last week to start juicing after seeing my cousin who had lost a stone in 3 weeks!! I only want to lose half a stone after the excesses of the summer so I thought starting off with a diet comprising vegetable and fruit juice might be interesting (as well as challenging).

So I bought a Juicemaster book (7lb in 7 days) and started juicing yesterday. Today I worked out to one of my DVDs for an hour and have just returned from the park with my DTS. I'm still not hungry!!

I have been drinking fresh juices, which are absolutely delicious as well as exhilerating and I feel fabulous. I plan to do this until Saturday so it will be interesting to see if Jason Vale's promise that you will not feel hungry at all holds true.

Was wondering if anybody else had tried this regime?

Feel free to join me It sounds sooo good. Lots of running, but also loads of interesting stuff I've never done , like assault courses and climbing. Just not sure I can handle the stroppy man who thinks he's in the army shouting at me

bouncingblueberries · 11/11/2008 12:24

Om my word mustrunmore! I used to go to British Military Fitness classes and most of the time we had such a laugh. Stopped going because there was one instructor who used to make it his personal mission to find the coldest, muddiest area of the park and make us do sit-ups and press-ups until we were soaked. Didn't make for very comfortable running afterwards and tough luck if you didn't have your gloves with you (was mad enough to go to classes in December, January and February!)

DH used to make me strip off my muddy kit at the front door

Grublin · 11/11/2008 12:33

would this juicer thing be any good do you think?

Grublin · 11/11/2008 12:39

Don't think the link worked, but this is the item.
Tesco direct.com
Rosemary Conley EnergI Jucie N Smoothie
Catalogue number: 200-1723

poshtottie · 11/11/2008 12:41

grublin, it would do the job and if you want to see if you will use one and like juicing you could splash out on a more expensive one.

I'm using mine all the time now but it did lay redundant in a box for a few years.

Grublin · 11/11/2008 12:43

I've found the books on amazon, need to see if dh will let me get them this month.

Lizzylou · 11/11/2008 12:45

It looks good for the money, Grublin, it's not whole fruit though so you'd have to chop (although I chopped all my fruit for ages before I realised I didn't need to!).
I got a Tesco wholefruit juicer, reduced to £19.99 from £39.99. It's good.

Mustrunmore and Blueberries, are you mad? I like to go running/spinning but am a bit fairweather about it all!

poshtottie · 11/11/2008 12:45

boot camp here

poshtottie · 11/11/2008 12:46

grublin you live close to me.

poshtottie · 11/11/2008 12:47

Actually I have the 7lbs in 7 days if you want to borrow it.

bouncingblueberries · 11/11/2008 13:46

blimey poshtottie!

bouncingblueberries · 11/11/2008 13:47

That looks fantastic and terrifying at the same time - think I prefer JV's way to lose half a stone in a week I think!

Grublin · 11/11/2008 14:11

Do you, have you etc etc
Where roughly are you Poshtottie?

poshtottie · 11/11/2008 15:43

Hi Grublin, yes I'm up in the town of D at the new part.

If you want to borrow the book just let me know.

Grublin · 11/11/2008 15:58

That'd be great thanks.
I can head up to D town centre on Saturday. I'll have my boys with me.

poshtottie · 11/11/2008 16:07

Im swimming at Wyvern and get home around 12. I could meet you in town or at borough gardens. I also have a ds aged 2.

Grublin · 11/11/2008 16:21

I think your DS is 1 month older than my youngest.
If I meet you somewhere in town first, perhaps if it's nice we can get something to eat and sit in the park whilst the monsters burn off some energy?
I'll get the bus over and get off by cinema.

Grublin · 12/11/2008 11:15

I'm getting so big, I'm finding it increasingly difficult to fit into any of my clothes now . I'm worried that I won't have enough will power to resist food when I go on juice.
Eeeek

PersephoneSnape · 12/11/2008 12:15

hello ladies, I was lurking on this thread and bought teh book and a HUGE amount of fresh fruit/veg on friday to start on saturday morning. hauled my whole-fruit juicer out of it's cupboard in the kitchen, plugged it in and nothing. have been eating the un-juiced fruit until yesterday when my tesco-value replacement £4.99 juicer arrived, I'm having juice at breakfast, mid morning fruit, soup at lunch and salad/juice in teh evening. shall weigh myself on saturday again, but as i have around 5 stone to lose (...) should expect a fairly good week 1 result. (hopefully!)

chuffinell · 12/11/2008 13:08

good luck persephonesnape - you are doing similar to me, so you may have to wait until the 2nd week before seeing any weight loss - but ive lost 7lbs already and thats without any exercise

PersephoneSnape · 12/11/2008 14:03

thats excellent - I'm just stepping up my walking/dashing around after three children -I'm too hugely fat at the mo to do anything more concentrated than just upping my movement - a spin class or somesuch would kill me. I have a dance around teh kitchen to a CD in the mornings before work to wake me up though

LetThemEatCake · 12/11/2008 16:16

is anyone going to berate me if I start replacing my evening juice with a homemade soup? I am cold!!

I have lost 7lb and have been juicing for 10 days, with 3 solid meals in that time (am vegan, so they were only rice & veg anyway)

Can I have soup? pleeeeeeease?

bouncingblueberries · 12/11/2008 16:26

Go for it LetThemEatCake! I had the carrot and butternut squash soup last night and it was delish! Having the hunky chunky soup tonight

thesockmonsterofdoom · 12/11/2008 16:54

I have had a none juicing day today as I ahve man flu, but I weighed myself this morning, I had been doing for 4 days and have lost 4lbs and that is with quite a bit of cheating.
will hopefully be back on tommorow, felt too sorry for myself today but now I feel all bloatey and uncomfortable.

mustrunmore · 12/11/2008 17:21

My book has arrived! Will be totally ignoring dh all evening after aerobics, so I can get stuck in
