Juicing - two days in and I am still not hungry!

I decided last week to start juicing after seeing my cousin who had lost a stone in 3 weeks!! I only want to lose half a stone after the excesses of the summer so I thought starting off with a diet comprising vegetable and fruit juice might be interesting (as well as challenging).

So I bought a Juicemaster book (7lb in 7 days) and started juicing yesterday. Today I worked out to one of my DVDs for an hour and have just returned from the park with my DTS. I'm still not hungry!!

I have been drinking fresh juices, which are absolutely delicious as well as exhilerating and I feel fabulous. I plan to do this until Saturday so it will be interesting to see if Jason Vale's promise that you will not feel hungry at all holds true.

Was wondering if anybody else had tried this regime?

well I have just done spinning on only one juice and I am still not hungry. may risk a weigh in.

mustrunmore · 09/11/2008 11:36

There's a new fruit man 15mins away from us, who is superb! Got 3 melons for £1, 3 pineapples for £1, 4 cucumbers for £1 etc.

dramaqueen · 09/11/2008 15:23

Coming towards the end of day 1 and I haven't felt hungry. I am finding cleaning the juicer each time a pain, though. Perhaps I need to make the whole lot at once and keep it in the fridge.

Beetroot · 09/11/2008 17:16

Last dya tomorrow!

It is rare for me to nto drink all the juices though. Maybe twice I have not had the 8 pm one.

thesockmonsterofdoom · 09/11/2008 18:28

may be thats the trick beetroot, I am having the morning and lunch time ones and then leaving it a bit too long.

LetThemEatCake · 09/11/2008 22:27

today should've been my last day but due to Friday night's blow-out, am going to go an extra day. Have to say, am a bit over it. This weather makes me want to eat. My ds turned his nose up at his stir-fried broccoli and beans this evening and I have to admit to eating it. He is 11mo so not a massive portion, though! maybe 2 mouthfuls.

Bring on the rice, I say. There's nothing comforting about juice, tasty though it may be. I'm cold!!!

Beetroot · 10/11/2008 07:33

sock monster - I have the apple and cinamon instead of the last one and it works forme - all warm and cosy

bouncingblueberries · 10/11/2008 09:09

Well done everyone!

Well, after 7 days on the launch plan I lost 7.5 lbs

But, I went a bit over the weekend and put a lb back on

Weird thing was, I really missed having my juices. I also swapped my usual size plate for a much smaller plate and didn't notice the difference - so my appetite has definitely reduced significantly.

Can't believe how much I missed the juices! Only had smoothies for breakfast over the weekend and decided to eat "normally" for the rest of the time. But I'm sure I ended up snacking more because I was looking for the nutrition my juices usually give me.

So I'm going back on the launch plan for this week. So it's smoothies for breakfast and lunch, juices for brunch and "linner" and soup or a salad for dinner.

Looking forward to feeling properly nourished again after the excesses of the weekend

chuffinell · 10/11/2008 12:19

hi all, everyone is doing so well!

i have success to report - i am down from 10stone 13 to 10stone 4!

am soooo pleased - and this is by cheating too! i have 4 juices a day then a small tea ie whatever the family are eating. i also have cheated by having the odd bar of choc because i refuse to give them up. this means that i have taken 3 weeks to lost the weight but i am happy with that

size 12 jeans are approaching i hope...

keep on juicing ladies - jason vale for PM!

thesockmonsterofdoom · 10/11/2008 12:54

I am trying to do tons iof excercise as well as I have more energy than I have hd in years.
Is all good.

DivaSkyChick · 10/11/2008 14:16

Everybody is doing so well! Congratulations!

I have found myself snacking a bit here and there, mostly on fruit but occasionally bits of DD's tea. Last night I had two big bowls of the butternut squash soup and felt pretty bloated this morning so I'm not going to weigh myself. I've really missed juicing, only had made time for it once yesterday so today I'm back on the wagon. Going to juice all day.

It feels so great to be back in my pre-pregnancy body! You can't wipe the smile off my face!

spokette · 10/11/2008 15:42

Well done everyone. Even though I don't want to lose anymore weight, I'm finding it difficult to break my juicing addiction!.

This morning I had the Athlete's Elixir juice for breakfast (2 apples, I stick celery juiced and blended with one banana, some honey and three pitted dates). I did a circuit training class at lunch time at work and afterwards had the Turbo charge juice from my flask. In addition, I have had two cappucino's and water.

For dinner will have small portion of chicken curry that I made yesterday and will have it with bulger wheat instead of basmati rice.

Oh, I hope it arrives soon mustrunmore! It truly is addictive!

Chuffinell - that is brilliant news. Well done you, you must feel and look amazing!

I had a really good day yesterday. It felt great to be back on the juices full time and when I was offered a glass of champagne in a meeting (to celebrate winning an account) I had no problem declining. Got a few odd looks mind you, so everyone at work probably thinks I'm pregnant now!

Went out for a 4.5km run this morning but do have to admit to struggling a bit. I didn't drink enough water yesterday and almost resorted to drinking a muddy puddle while I was out I was that thirsty!

Now, who's tempted to buy a mini trampoline to follow JV to the letter?

Update from me!

have been juicing for 8 days and have had 2 meals (with wine) in that period. Both meals were rice & veg.

Have lost 6 lb, fitting very comfortably into size 10 clothes.

Dh away for next 3 nights so am going to juice another 3 days. It's my birthday party this Sat night and psychologically, I would love to go to it being 9 stone something. Currently 10 stone 2 (and 5'10" tall).

Wish me luck!! and good luck to all of you juicers too!

LetThemEatCake · 11/11/2008 09:00

ooh, and my BMI has gone from 21.2 to 20.4. Hurrah!

bouncingblueberries · 11/11/2008 09:05

You can do it LetThemEatCake!

I just love reading about everyone's success - it makes me so determined to stick with it. I'm a loooooong way off being a size 10 but I am currently wearing a pair of cords that I could only squeeze into on very thin days before I fell pregnant

It feels fantastic to be wearing my thin clothes again

And it only takes a week!!

LetThemEatCake · 11/11/2008 10:08

oops, correction. I weighed myself before I had, ahem, had a movement

am 10 stone 1!!! the promised 7lb are off!

chuffinell · 11/11/2008 11:20

pmsl at letthemeatcake - so it seems that a good no2 can weigh a pound!!

blueberries, thank you, i am really pleased so far, my bulging tummy have deflated loads, and my skin looks so much fresher but theres still a lardy botty to slim down yet

cannot believe i have lost all that blubber without any exercise at all, and with sneaking a choccy bar in most days

my DH is getting worried, he owes me £150 towrds new clothes if i am down to 9stone 13 by Christmas and i think i will do it

have thought abt a mini trampoline but we havent got the space for me to be jumping around

mustrunmore · 11/11/2008 11:25

I'm not gonna buy new clothes, I'm gonna dig out the ones from 1999-2002 that I kept

God, I want this to work. I just keep reading all your successes If I can lose the remaining stone I need to, I'm gonna cash in my ISA and treat myself to a week at a really hard boot camp

Waiting for postman again!

chuffinell · 11/11/2008 11:34

mustrunmore what boot camp? i admire your determination

if i can do it (an exercise phobe) then you will

mustrunmore · 11/11/2008 11:39

I'm going to look into some. I was reading about one in a mag in the gp the other day, but obviously I dont remember the name. It wasnt too far from me though. Its based on 1000 cals taken in and 25000 burnt off per day, and its bloody hard work! But my arobics instructor wants to come with me too, so there's an added incentive for me; I dont want to be way way worse than the person I go with! I'll never match her, but as I'm doing 7 classes a week plus some runs, I'm hoping to regain a bit of fitness soon.

chuffinell · 11/11/2008 11:42
