I decided to try CD and have persuaded my DSis to join me. Sis has done it before so has warned me what to expect re. headaches, feeling cold, tired etc.

I saw my CD lady today who weighed and measured me.

Current stats-

12/08/08
weight 12st 9lb
bust 40.5in
waist 35in
hips 42in

I hope to get down to about 10st 4lb which is my perfect (in my mind) weight. I got all my sachets etc today and am starting in the morning. I was shocked to see that my weeks nurishments fit into a box smaller than one night's Chinese meal .

Wish me luck.

Anyone else want to join us?

I know I put current stats as 12/08/08 but that's for my start date, tomorrow.

Hello caykon. How did you find starting CD? Was it difficult to get on with?

I have very mixed feelings. I'm excited about the prospect of getting back to a comfortable weight but I'm very nervous about the idea of no propper food for the forseeable future.

Do you know if they make you stop doing CD once your BMI reaches 25? I can't decide from the literature I got today. My BMI is 26 as I'm quite tall, but at my ideal weight my BMI would be quite a bit less than that.

hi you two, i am dooit's little sis and am trying this diet again after doing cd last year.

i did it for 5 weeks, lost about 1st 10lbs, but completely buggered it up after the add a meal week. i am going to try SS for the full 12 wks if possible this time..

i need to lose about 3,4 or 5 stone, i'll decide how much when i get anywhere near that point!

i am seeing my cdc tomorrow am and i will start either wed or thurs.

good luck girls!

dooit · 11/08/2008 21:07

Ey oop BooBoo. I'm enjoying my last supper. I've had sweet and sour chicken, noodles, prawn cracks, spring rolls and fortune cookies.[grin

I've looked at the minimins website. There are some amazing weight loss stories on there, very inspirational.

I just want to get started now. The idea of losing a few love handles is very exciting.

OP posts:
BooBooChicken · 11/08/2008 21:41

yum-my to your last supper. i've just had a huuuuge spag bol and am now eating sweeties, i feel quite sick already but needs must...!

i am glad you are so keen to get going. between me you and caykon, perhaps we can inspire each other! and maybe we too will post before and after photos on minimins!

caykon · 12/08/2008 08:42

I always finding it daunting going on to no food but it seems the only way to control my eating at times.

Today is a good day for me to start, it was my 1st wedding anniversary yesterday and it really hit home that I am about 3 1/2 stone heavier than when I got married last year.

dh took me out for a lovely 3 course meal last night so it seems like a nice meal to stop eating on.

Will post offical start weight in a bit as I will weigh myself without clothes before I get dressed.

dooit · 12/08/2008 17:12

OK. Day one.

The first shake I had this morning was chocolate orange. Truly vile, evil and revolting. I wont be having another one of those.

At lunchtime I had an oriental chilli one that was ok.

So far in I feel fine, although I do keep thinking about food and my stomach is gurgling away.

I got the ketostix. How long before they should read positive?

OP posts:
dooit · 12/08/2008 17:15

Happy anniversary caykon. It sounds like you had a lovely last supper too.

BooBooChicken, do you think your migraine could be a last supper overload? Have you over done the "last sweet/coke/crisp/pasta" etc to the extent that it's made you ill??

OP posts:
BooBooChicken · 12/08/2008 17:29

dooit, i'm glad that you are finding the soup better than shakes. so far, so okay! i think it takes until day 3 or 4 for ketosis but don't quote me.

the migraine-y type thing has gone away, so it was clearly a migraine-wannabe or i would still be laid low. can't be my diet last night though as i always eat badly!

ditto happy anniversary caykon! it's tough to be such a new size/shape after your wedding isn't it?

i can empathise as i was a small size 12 and 10.5 st on my wedding day, i am now about 15 st and a size 18/20 (or even bigger in some shops i guess but i don't go shopping anymore cos it's depressing! )

I have been in TOTAL denial about my size and am only disclosing these stats on here as i am addressing my weight!

BooBooChicken · 12/08/2008 17:31

oh and i saw my cdc this am and i am starting the diet tomorrow.

will post my actual weight etc then..

dooit · 12/08/2008 18:32

Hey Boo, I'm really proud of you ya know. Glad you're feeling better.

Had a veggie soup for tea. It was rather nice actually. All that was missing was a big chunk of break to dip in it.

Guess what??

I have ketones. How sad to be excited about the content of your wee, but I am.

OP posts:
BooBooChicken · 12/08/2008 18:39

thanks dooit, and congrats on your ketones, you must be very proud!

(how's ya bladder though??)

dooit · 12/08/2008 18:47

My bladder is the size of a thimble. Weeing every 15 minutes. I had to come home swiftly from a dog walk. It was either that or pee in a bush.

dooit · 13/08/2008 08:38

OK then CD experts. Please can someone explain to me how yesterday morning I weighed in at 12st 11lb (I'd managed to binge an extra couple of lbs on to my start weight ) and today I weigh 12st 5lb ?

OP posts:
dooit · 13/08/2008 08:39

Good luck for today too sis.x I'm going to try a butterscotch for breakfast. I wonder how gagtastic that wil be?

OP posts:
caykon · 13/08/2008 11:01

Ok don't quite know what happened yesterday but somehow totally forgot what i was doing and ate breakfast!!!!
So today didn't let myself get distracted.

Start date - 13/8/08
Start weight - 15 stone 7 lbs
Hips 118cm
waist 99cm
bust 96

BooBooChicken · 13/08/2008 13:16

Well done doo-doo, what a flying start!

Caykon, go for it today, i have already licked chocolate spread of my finger and almost ate an apple before i remembered i was on CD!

Here are my stats, i am 5ft 7.5in

Start date - 13/0/08
Start weight - 15 st 1/2 lb
Bust - 43
Waist - 37
Hips - 48.5

First morning - cappucino cack shake, gagtastic and no mistake, even though i had it hot, lots of water and then a spicy tomato soup, not so bad..

(nearly weed myself in clarkes earlier getting the kids school shoes, had to hobble very awkwardly to tesco to use their loo. most undignified! )

dooit · 13/08/2008 14:35

LOL at you eating breakfast caykon.

Booboo, glad you made it to the loo. You should have told one of the Clarks staff that you have IBS and if she didn't let you use the staff loo you'd shit on the carpet. I'm sure they'd have accommodated you.

OP posts:
BooBooChicken · 13/08/2008 18:49

Ha, that would have learned em for selling over-priced shoes!

Am feeling very crappy, like having really low blood sugar, but am going to have an early night (in bed on here and minimins no doubt!)

roll on tomorrow and a couple of pounds lost maybe?

dooit · 13/08/2008 20:28

Sorry you're feeling crappy Boo. I've felt a bit ropey this aft too. Very tired and a bit wobbly. I was very tempted to lick the plate clean after DD finnished her spag on toast!

Keep focused though. We can DO IT.

OP posts:
BooBooChicken · 13/08/2008 21:45

you are right, we can!

made pollo cacciatore (or however nigella spells "hunters chicken") and new pots for dh, i had to stop myself tasting it - it smelled bloody gorgeous!!!

thing is, i bought the ingredients for us both to have, but i forgot to cook it in time for starting the cd, what a wally!!!

how are you doing caykon?

readyfornum2 · 14/08/2008 07:10

Hi guys just wanted to wish you all good luck on your cd journeys

I have been on cd for 24 weeks and have lost 6 1/2 stone. I have just started the 810 plan ready for maintainance.

This diet is fab and if you stick with it you will see great results

dooit · 14/08/2008 10:22

Wow, Readyfor2 that's amazing. It's reading things like that that make me think, "I absolutely will stick to this diet". That's an awesome weight loss and in such a short time too. Well done you.

Did you find it hard to stick to? Have you fallen off the wagon along the way or did you manage to stay faithful?

Boo, why are you cooking delicious treats for DH? I told you, make them eat watery grey porridge then you wont torment yourself. Although I'd happily eat a dish of watery grey porridge right now.

How are you all doing today? I had the cappucino with a dash of real coffee for breakfast and it was nice. Think I'll stick to that in the mornings from now on.
