I decided to try CD and have persuaded my DSis to join me. Sis has done it before so has warned me what to expect re. headaches, feeling cold, tired etc.

I saw my CD lady today who weighed and measured me.

Current stats-

12/08/08
weight 12st 9lb
bust 40.5in
waist 35in
hips 42in

I hope to get down to about 10st 4lb which is my perfect (in my mind) weight. I got all my sachets etc today and am starting in the morning. I was shocked to see that my weeks nurishments fit into a box smaller than one night's Chinese meal .

Wish me luck.

Anyone else want to join us?

Ready - you are an inspiration!!! well done on your tremendous weightloss!

Feeling better today, day 2, but i think that last time i felt worse on day 3 and 4 which is great as DH has these days off. i planned it like this so that i can loll about feeling watery and weak while he watches the DCs... [

dooit · 14/08/2008 21:19

I'm feeling just fine now Boo. Day 3 and no real energy slump. I took DD out with her new loan pony for a 2 mile walk and felt absolutely fine. I half expected I'd have to kick DD off and ride it home myself.

I bought myself a lovely Pecksniffs candle {Corsican Fig).I figured if I can't taste lovely things I'm going to smell them instead. I also allowed myself a great big sniff of the biscuit tin. That was lovely.

BooBooChicken · 14/08/2008 21:51

that;s so funny with the smelly things, i have just had a bath and used some melon and fig body oil scrub, its a surrogate sweet fix!

am v impressed that you walked 2 miles (and glad that dd got her pony!) i feel starving but no hot sweats or shaky hands today. i have had over 4 lts of water and want more cos am thirsty but don't want to be getting up in the night to wee so will resist!

roll on day 3..

caykon · 15/08/2008 08:49

I havent even managed to get out the starting gate yet
I keep finding pathetic excuses to wait until tommorrow to start, don't know whats wrong with me at the moment!

dooit · 15/08/2008 08:59

Are you expecting AF caykon?

I'm already wondering how I'll get through my binge week. I usually stuff any carbs I can get my hands on in the few days before I'm due on.

Don't beat yourself up over it though. Maybe your heads just not in the right place at the moment to do CD.

BooBooChicken · 15/08/2008 12:52

caykon, i agree with dooit that if your hearts not in it, then you are best to wait unitl you really feel it is.

i feel very crappy, hot and cold and dripping with sweat, with jelly legs and massively hungry. attractive, non?

have left the dh and kids in town to sort out the final back to school stuff (they go back on tues)and returned to bed, thank god he's off today!

roll on the good times..

dalek · 15/08/2008 13:37

Could I aska question please? Is it like lighterlife - do you have to drink 4 litres of water a day?

BooBooChicken · 15/08/2008 17:03

hi dalek, yes i think it is like lighterlife only with no counselling but about half the price!

juneybean · 15/08/2008 17:07

I'm doing the CD very loosely, I have one for breakfast, anything I want for lunch then a shake for dinner.

I have lost 2lbs this week, but am now getting monthly visitor so have put 3lbs back on! Argh!

juneybean · 15/08/2008 17:08

Dalek... I think you only need 2 litres of water?

BooBooChicken · 15/08/2008 17:48

hi juneybean, the way you are doing cd seems very liberating, actual food, and anything you want! i am very . i can't even look at food on CD as once i begin to eat i can't stop!

do you manage to stay in ketosis or does it work as you are having restricted calories?

(i have 4 lts as advised by my cdc but the book say 2.25 lts minimum)

dooit · 15/08/2008 18:14

Gahhh! I just made curry and all the trimmings for kids and their friend. DH has gone to the pub instead of coming home for tea, so his tea is sitting in the kitchen.............winking at me...........

I'm forcing myself to stay out of the kitchen and drink black coffee. It's like a form of torture.

Would I be justified in giving it to the dog if he's not back in half an hour?

OP posts:
juneybean · 15/08/2008 18:21

I'm not sure if I'm going into ketosis but I'm rather large anyways so possibly my bodies starting to eat itself haha

dooit · 15/08/2008 19:22

Double GAHHHHH! Just had a call to say that the regulars from the pub/club we ran until 4 or 5 years ago is having a reunion. Obviously we will go. How much will I lose by then if I', 100% faithful to CD?

I weigh 12st 4lb now and the do is 3 weeks tomorrow. I wish I started this a month ago. I haven't seen most of the regulars since we left and I wasbout 10st 4 then!

OP posts:
juneybean · 15/08/2008 19:39

Well you won't lose 2 stone lol but you could lose upto a stone and a bit more if you are realllllly faithful and drink lots of water.

BooBooChicken · 16/08/2008 21:14

you can do it, dooit!

even if you can't lose 2 stone you can lose enough to give your self-esteem a boost, and your skin will be bright and your eyes clear! you'll just have to make an excuse/explain why you are not drinking and eating but glugging gallons of water!

well done on resisting the curry btw.

BooBooChicken · 17/08/2008 14:27

Day 5 for me and i am feeling ok, still don't feel like i could actually tackle anything more strenuous than a gentle stroll but it's early days yet.

i seem to have lost just over 7 lbs so far. my cdc told me to weigh myself daily for the first week to motivate me, but weekly thereafter.

i'm not sure if i will be able to weigh weekly tho, i can be a compulsive weigher!

dooit · 17/08/2008 19:37

Hello all. I'm doing ok today. Dreamt about eating cakes last night and I don't particularly like cakes!

My weight has stayed the same today so I'm a bit disappointed but I've still lost around 9lbs in the last 5 days.

I'm having lots of food fantasies. Mainly about cheese and bread but on the whole finding CD ok.

It will be much easier when I only have shakes/soups that I like as atm I only have yakky ones left

All ready for school tomorrow Boo?

OP posts:
BooBooChicken · 17/08/2008 21:23

it's tuesday when they go back, but have spent the afternoon ironing on labels and doing washing (the fun never ends in my house!)

have felt ok in myself but very tired again.

when will we get this fabled rush of energy??

dooit · 18/08/2008 11:40

Sorry I knew about school on Tuesday, you've told me several times already. The lack of calories means I can only recall one fact per today.

I'm having really vivid dreams on CD. Last nights was about DD2 dying and I woke up sobbing. Twas horrid. Inspite of feeling tired I don't think I'm sleeping very well. I seem to toss and turn a lot and take ages to drop off. I think the stomach rumbles wake me up.

Weigh in this afternoon. Will report back.

OP posts:
dooit · 18/08/2008 21:49

So I lost 7lb this week. Or should I say this 6 days as that's how long I did before weigh in.

I'm a bit disappointed because I've stuck to it 100% and thought it could be more. But it's still half a stone and a 1/5th of the total I need to lose.

I did another power walk with dog, pony and daughter and felt fine afterwards, no wobbles or weak legs.

I'm going to get some senna tomorrow (I think you can take that on CD) as I'm feeling quite bunged up.

OP posts:
BooBooChicken · 19/08/2008 10:28

Dooit, very well done!!!

the fact that you only have a couple of stone to lose makes your half stone loss even more impresssive after just 6 days!

keep up the excellent work sis!

dooit · 19/08/2008 10:43

How was little BooBooChicken this am? Did the first day at big school get off to a good start?

Hope you have a nice relaixing child free day. 2 weeks and counting here!

Any energy yet? You must be feeling just a wee bit better by now.

OP posts:
BooBooChicken · 19/08/2008 16:48

she was just fine, i was a bit wobbly, and not due to lack of food!

i am feeling better now, still don't feel i could do anything more than walking, which is just as well as anything else would be unsightly at my current size!

(my reward for losing this weight is re-joining the gym, we can't afford gym and cd at the same time.)

did you buy some new scales yet?

anyone else lurking who is on the cd too? if so, come and join us!

chocolatespiders · 19/08/2008 18:54
