I decided to try CD and have persuaded my DSis to join me. Sis has done it before so has warned me what to expect re. headaches, feeling cold, tired etc.

I saw my CD lady today who weighed and measured me.

Current stats-

12/08/08
weight 12st 9lb
bust 40.5in
waist 35in
hips 42in

I hope to get down to about 10st 4lb which is my perfect (in my mind) weight. I got all my sachets etc today and am starting in the morning. I was shocked to see that my weeks nurishments fit into a box smaller than one night's Chinese meal .

Wish me luck.

Anyone else want to join us?

awww, thanks chocolate spiders!

day 3 is definitely the very worst of worst days, and i think a lot of people don't get past that point. i nearly didn't myself this time and i have done the diet before and knew what to expect!

chocolatespiders · 19/08/2008 21:32

how long did you do it for before?

I am going to try and restart... i have got to i am eating myself to death

dooit · 20/08/2008 08:26

Hi chocolate spiders, come and join us.

I got my new scales all singing with fat/water monitor courtesy of TKMaxx for about 16 pounds! The good news is that nekkid, first thing this morning, I weighed 11st 12lb!! So I broke the 12st barrier in reverse.WAA HOO!!

I feel super inspired to carry on. As I told you the switch in my head that controls my cravings and binge urges seems to have miraculously reset itself and I feel as if I could do this forever.(Obviously I wont though, that would be silly.)

BooBooChicken · 20/08/2008 11:27

chocolate spiders, i only did cd for 5 wks last year but i lost nearly 2 stone. i give up after the AAM week, which i am glad we don't have to do this time. i am an all or nothing kinda gal!

i know how you feel about eating yourself to death... i was eating so much and shamefully, eating in secret, which i think is the true mark of addictive behaviour.

have a think if your head is in the right place and if so, hop on board!

dooit, i am so glad that you have got new scales and that you have broken the 12 stone mark, you must feel absolutely inspired! is that a stone lost now then??

oh, i had my first weeks weigh and i have lost 9lbs

dooit · 20/08/2008 13:17

13lbs off by my recconing Booboo. Well done at your weight loss, that's brill.

Any words of wisdom from your CDC that you'd like to share with us?

I had super vivid death dreams again last night. I don't know what thats all about but I really don't like it.

OP posts:
BooBooChicken · 20/08/2008 13:39

no, she was not there. her daughter was there instead (she seems to help her mum with admin) and just gave me the packs and some gentle encouragement.

am still feeling really empty/hollow in my tummy most of the time too. perhaps because i over-ate so badly and was never actually hungry before..?

chocolatespiders · 21/08/2008 11:43

WOW great weight losses...

I am really cutting down on my eating at the moment and seeing how i go.. i wont post what i am eating as that would be unfair to you all, while you are CD.. but i had a really good day yesterday and feel great...

I know the secret eating bit, used to do it from my partner..( i remember years ago carrying some washing upstairs with half a bag of chips wedged into the middle of the washing pile

I dont have to do the secret bit now as i am a lone parent but i look foward to children going to bed so i can eat

I recently had hypnosis which didnt help

have a great day everyone... i am not at work today which is always hard but i am trying very hard...

BooBooChicken · 21/08/2008 18:46

well done choc spider on cutting down the junk from your diet, it's a great step and i am glad that you are feeling good.

i am interested in your hypnosis as i am thinking about doing that when i get to target with cd.

what did the hypnotherapist do and why don't yiu think it helped?

dooit, hope the vivid dreams have gone..

dooit · 21/08/2008 22:24

Bleeeeuuurrggghh.........

I'm really struggling with the soups now.

They tasted fine before, (chick&mushroom and vegetable) but the last 2 days they've started to taste sooooooooooo salty that I'm gagging in them. Don't know why, any suggestions?

I'm going to swap them if I can but I think my CDC lady is going away tomorrow. Will try to get her before she does.

OP posts:
BooBooChicken · 21/08/2008 22:53

you could cook them as crisps rather than have them as soups? (although that may intensify the saltiness as very little water is used...)

go on minimins for recipes and inspiration maybe?

and get back to your cdc before she goes away!!

poor dooit, it is horrible when the only sustenance you can have is awful. strange though that you said "yum" after your soup the other day and now can't stomach it, are you pre-af?..

or maybe it's a faulty batch of soups?

dooit · 25/08/2008 21:57

Still going strong here.

I've done complete overkill on the soups. Not having any this week, just cappucino and bars.

I think I've lost about 16lbs so far. Not bad for 2 weeks effort eh!

Weigh in tomorrow. I'm sure the CDCs scales will be different to mine (they were last week) but I trust mine 100% as I've used them every day(several times) and the results have been totally consistent.

We're off to Whitby for the day after weigh in. That will be a challenge and a half. We ALWAYS have fish and chips sitting by the sea. They're the best in the world and you can smell them all over town. I'll take a couple of bars to see me through the day but it's not going to be easy.

Happy Birthday BooBooChicken. Hope you had a great day and didn't miss your cake too much. Just keep focused on the big picture.

OP posts:
BooBooChicken · 27/08/2008 19:06

well done on your loss so far dooit, you are a genius! did you resist the chips??

i had my 2 wk weigh in and lost 1 stone, woohoo!

if only i could lose the rest of this weight so fast..still, it is coming off, even if it takes til xmas

dooit · 28/08/2008 10:14

Hello.

I should update my stats at some point I suppose.

weight-11st6lb(lost 1st 5lb)
bust -38in (lost 2.5 inches)
waist -31.5in (lost 3.5 inches)
hips -38.5in (lost 3.5 inches)

Not bad for 16 days work is it! I can't believe how easy I'm finding CD. I think I'm so "in the zone" that I can't imagine cheating at all. The results make every stomach rumble worth while, although to be honest I'm not really hungry at all now.

Due AF in a week or so so I'm expecting to get some serious carb cravings any time soon. I don't know how I'll cope with them as they're pretty bad even when I have access to the bread bin.

You are doing really well Booboo. Time for a treat I think! Looks like I bought myself a horse for losing the first stone so beat that !

OP posts:
BooBooChicken · 28/08/2008 18:07

those stats are seriously impressive!! mine are less so but i will put them on later when i have done my measurements.

what will i treat myself to...i think a trip to boots make-up counter, so no, i can't beat the horse treat!

has he got a name yet?

dooit · 28/08/2008 22:27

He's still called "the horse". I think it's like when you have a baby and you have to know them a few days til you know if the name fits.

The current short list is

Tango (I know you don't like this but he is orange and moves like a dancer)

Tizer (I know you don't like this either but it's one of 2 (inc Tango) that all 3 DDs agree on)

Leo (2DDs and I like this)

Zac (I think this may be something to do with HSM and Zac Efron)

I know I should choose one and stuff the kids but I'd like us all to agree although that's very unlikely.

So if you know any Welsh/Earthy/Chestnut Cob/Horse names please let me know.

So I lost 3lbs overnight on Tuesday/Wednesday, Thursday I put a lb back on and today I'm another 2lbs down. I'm not sure where the lb on came from but at least it's gone again now. That takes me to 20lbs off.

I tried on a pair of jeans that I've not been able to wear since Christmas and they fit perfectly again! My wardrobe has quadrupled in less than 3 weeks because I can wear so many things again.

OP posts:
BooBooChicken · 31/08/2008 15:26

it is great that you are re-discovering clothes, well done dooit!

my stats are that i have lost 17.5 lbs so far and have dropped about 1.5 dress sizes.

oh, and my bmi is now just overweight, not obese - bonus!

bluebell1 · 24/09/2008 09:35

DOIT and BOOBOO are you still following the diet and of so how are you getting on.Just wondered as thinking of starting it myself.

bluebell1 · 24/09/2008 19:58

Anyone?

Dreamystarr · 25/09/2008 15:32

Hi all, hope you don't mind me joining you I have been on CD before and lost a stone was a few months ago though and have started back on it today....so fingers crossed it will work again or rather I manage to stick to it!!! My problem seems to be drinking plenty of water, and I know that the more water I drink the more I will loose but I just keep forgeting.
You all look like your getting on well.

TillyScoutsmum · 25/09/2008 15:40

Hello all - I'm a CD virgin and would like some advice before taking the plunge if possible ...

I'm getting married at the end of November and would like to lose 1-1.5 stone. I've got various 'do's to go to in November so was thinking of doing CD just for October. So - do you think I could lose the stone in a month ? and do you think all the weight would go straight back on as soon as I start eating normally ? Could I do a month (strictly), then keep doing it but with a few meals as well ?

Oh - and finally - how do I get hold of it ?

I've been doing Slimfast and have lost about 1.5 stone but have come to a standstill (my evening meal is my downfall - a bit of an all or nothing girl !)

TIA

Dreamystarr · 25/09/2008 16:10

HI TillyScoutsmum, I lost a stone in about 3 weeks, have a look on cambridge website it will give you contact details for your nearest councilor.
It is fairly easy just takes will power and remember to drink plenty of water.
Just like you I am all or nothing, so tried various diets and failed because I have to have it all!!!!
I don't like many of the shakes on CD and none of the soups, but everyone is different so worth having a try of them all.
They also have a new porridge out which I am having for an evening meal (haven't tried it yet but will tonight).
You did really well on slimfast and you will do better on CD it is great and well worth a go.
As for putting weigh back on rather than suddenly stop you gradually re-introduce food again and this will stabilise things, I didn't put anything back on when I stopped (to my surprise!)
Good luck with it and I am sure you will do it.

TillyScoutsmum · 25/09/2008 16:15

Thanks Dreamystarr - will have a look and see

BooBooChicken · 29/09/2008 11:19
