Thanks marj . Went for another jog this morning. Felt more tired than yesterday, prob because had a run yest morning and did aerobics last night. Still managed to jog the whole way without stopping so am really pleased. Have Salsa tomorrow night, then rest on Thursday. I WILL lose weight this week!!! Had a try at the nauseating site again this morning, and found that there was no-one there (I wonder why...) and there are only about 300 members lol!!

Titania GOOD FOR YOU!!!!!! A 2inch loss is brilliant - just shows how important it is to measure yourself! Bet you wouldnt feel as good as you do if you hadn't known that. And well done on the lb loss too - the start of many.

Coppertop - I lost weight from my wrists too, and my elbows!!! Also, I have gone from a size 4 to a 3 1/2 in shoes. You just don't think about putting on weight in those areas do you? D'you know what I love about being slimmer? Being able to cross my legs and have the top leg hang beside the underneath leg - not sticking out at a right angle like it used to, creating a risk hazard for people to trip over. Does that make any sense?? Anyway, my crossed legs look much more elegant now. Strange what makes us happy!

Fennel · 15/02/2005 11:32

miam - you've got me crossing my legs to check how they look now!

am gearing up the exercise, seeing as I can't/won't stop eating. went swimming and cycling yesterday, I feel better for it, though the scales show I am getting fatter again this last week or two

is everyone on mumsnet on msn these days? except me I mean - I already waste too much time here.

pinksofa · 15/02/2005 13:10

hi girls i am still attempting to loose some weight not around much and likely to be a scanty poster because of crazy situation at work, and ds seems to be getting one bug after another

BethAndHerBrood · 15/02/2005 13:38

Hi everyone!! I haven't been around, Bl@@dy BT have been messing up my internet!! I haven't been on since friday!!!Fortunately, it's all mended now, first port of call - here!!! We all seem to be doing really well! Oh, what's all the mention of msn??? Nosey, aren't i??

miam · 15/02/2005 13:42

Hi pinksofa. Nice to see you back . A scanty poster is better than a nothing-atall poster! How are things going?

Lol fennel re the legs! Good for you on the exercise - I always have loads of energy after exercising. I have managed to do ALL my ironing today (and if you had seen the mountain I had you would understand what an incredible achievement this is) plus cook the dinner already! Mind you, my legs are sore today - probably overdone it a bit. But they are definately looking more toned whoopee. Keep it up!!

miam · 15/02/2005 13:43

Hi Beth too! I will be on MSN this afternoon (after 3) so if anyone fancies a chat??

Fennel · 15/02/2005 14:05

miam - my legs, when crossed naturally, have a 20 degree gap - is that too much?
if I squeeze my thighs the legs go parallel but is that cheating?
feel as though I'm in a deportment class here...

miam · 15/02/2005 14:07

Fennel. A 20 degree gap is acceptable. Anything over 90 should be improved and anything over 180 may require hip replacement surgery!!

monkeygirl · 15/02/2005 16:07

Hello all! Well done to all you losers - hey wrist-loss is good as well you know. Could do with losing a few mms there actually to make some of my bracelets hang better! And I'm afraid I don't understand the thigh thing but I do know that i do not want to be doing any measuring there - not with my thighs!

i've put on a lbs this week - ho hum. Really must try and crack this stone marker.

WWB - could your dh be trying to show his love with all this food he's plying you with?? has he seen you sad/upset? Not helpful but just a learned thing. My mum and dh's mum always do exactly that with no malice intended. Sadly it's a hard habit I have been taught and am have been trying all my life to break.

mammya · 16/02/2005 15:43

LOL at the wrist loss!
I had my weigh in today and lost 3lbs! Hopefully not all from the wrists...

Fennel · 16/02/2005 20:38

I am a disgrace to this thread. was planning to go to aqua-aerobics this evening and then just couldn't be bothered so cracked open the wine and a huge packet of crisps instead. how useless is that?

MarsLady · 16/02/2005 20:59

I'm as bad, forgot that the evening weigh-in was at 7 so missed my class. Had a large piece of cake to make up for my obvious distress

pinksofa · 16/02/2005 22:01

miam a bit all over the place but not gaining
stress is coming down in buckets at mo ds was v ill last week, work is mega stressie and also in coming up to finals for a degree but exciting and determined not to give up but have to admit been comfort eating so taking one day at a time
lordie must go to bed, hope you are doing well and everyone else

Evesmama · 16/02/2005 22:05

just had a lovely hi light choc drink(no choc since 17th jan)very very sweet to me now, but hit the spot like a bullet!!

coppertop · 17/02/2005 09:40

Pinksofa - With all that going on I think you're more than entitled to be feeling stressed!

I'm pleased to say that I've lost another pound - despite the visit to BK and having to stay in for most of this week because of 2 ill little boys.

i was so determined to do my work out video today but i have got to wait for someone to come and fix the water leaking through my ceiling!! Dont really want to answer the door all sweaty and yucky cos its sods law that thats what will happen!! if the repair man comes early enough then i will do it this afternoon all being well....took the kids to mcdonalds yesterday...i was so good...didnt have anything except a couple of chips from ds2. was pleased with my willpower!

Fennel · 17/02/2005 11:20

trefusis, if that were me I'd be just using it as an excuse, but maybe that's just me

put on 2lb this week. am feeling grumpy and demotivated. only a month now til my spanish beach holiday - had hoped to tone up and slim down for then but it's clearly not to be. maybe I will lose weight naturally while on holiday? (I am desperately hopeful against the odds here)

miam · 17/02/2005 15:10

Hi pinksofa. Anything that doesnt involve gaining is good. Poor you - stress is not compatible with dieting is it? But considering you havent put weight on despite all that is going on shows that you must be doing something right! I've had an awful couple of days, not diet-wise, just with the 4 girls being ill and vomiting all over the house. Had 3 of them being sick at regular intervals last night in different rooms - was like a scene out of Casualty! Now I am feeling decidedly dodgy, so have had nothing to eat today as can't face anything (got to be good for the diet though....).

Fennel, you could easily lose 1/2st in a month. Don't give up - you will only feel miserable on holiday that you could have lost that bit more and didn't. And if you increase your exercise through the week you will see a difference. Go for it girl!!

Titania at chips, or lack of them! How are you today?

Well done mammya and coppertop!!! And finally, trefusis, have to agree with fennel - it would be an excuse for me. But it is a fabulously original one though !!

Evesmama · 17/02/2005 15:14

oooooooooooooohhh my ready brek..cant get enough of it! having some for brekky and tea and sandwhich for lunch and am stuffed....its my new chocolate

miam · 17/02/2005 15:16

lol - how many cals? Are you doing the cereal diet, or is this just pure madness on your part?? (Beginning to think you may have an obsessive personality Evesmama )

Evesmama · 17/02/2005 15:23

no idea how many cals, but yes i think i have ocd for this cereal!!!!!, was actually going mmmmm, when i as just eating it then!!!

MarsLady · 17/02/2005 17:51

Despite missing my class this week I have stopped giving in to temptation. I have joined the YorkieGirl Jeans Diet and been shopping and bought myself some too small jeans. So, the plan is to lose 3lbs by my next weigh-in to make up for it and to fit in my new jeans in time for my birthday in April. Then I will treat myself to the next size down and aim to be in them for August/September. I'm so glad that you are all here for support because I know that I have to sign in with you all, and trust me I didn't want to this week. It was shame that took me to the shops and made me determine to lose this coming week.

miam, hope you feel better. we've had a vomiting bug here too (and I STILL put on weight - outrageous!)

yes the advice on losing weight before holiday sounds good but I am just tired. too tired to exercise much. also I will give up the breastfeeding after the spanish trip when dd3 is one and then I expect a surge of energy and effortless weight loss so I have that to look forward to.
