WWB - WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!!!! A whole stone - you must be so so pleased with yourself - and if not you definately should be! Well done, well done, well done - can't say it enough.

am starting again tommorrow

am down to one bf a day and periods have come back so no longer have hormonal excuses for the weight not coming off

think my problem was 3 weeks of sticking to SW rigidly and NO weight loss

bought the GI book, but can't bring myself to open it

will return to SW tomorrow

WigWamBam · 13/02/2005 18:58

No, I know it wasn't really me, demented, it just sounded like me!

I'm quite chuffed with myself for getting the first stone under my belt; I know it'll slow down now but it's a good start. Everyone else is doing really well, too.

Twiglett, have a good look at the GI diet. It's quite straightforward really, and it seems to be working for me.

miam · 13/02/2005 19:01

3 wks with no loss - how demoralising for you, no wonder you started to waver. You would be bound to lose it eventually though Twiglett. You had to have been retaining fluid. Were you measuring yourself? I don't think I have lost anything this week, but have lose cm's. Have you been doing the red or the green diet?

Loobz · 13/02/2005 19:24

Hi Miam, you have just made me feel better - I am at least a size bigger on top too and I too hate it. Thing is that's the place I usually lose it last.
Good luck Twiglett - you know you can do it
I don't feel too good today, very headachy and no appetite - very strange. Maybe I should make the most of it - it won't last!!!
Good luck to all for this week

Phew WWB!

Twiglett, that must be so frustrating, feel a bit bad too as I think I was one of the ones persuading you to stop going to the classes. Wonder if it's something to do with cutting down on the bf and period returning etc, might take a few weeks for your body to adjust?

Someone said something on the SW thread (I think) that variety was also the key to weightloss on SW, do you eat a lot of similar things or is your diet quite varied? Also I believe red days are good for a kick if things are slowing up, if you don't do many red days perhaps try to add a few more for a couple of weeks and see if things change.

The GI Diet sounds really good, I bought a book about it but the one I have was also recommending counting calories and I can't be bothered with that.

Ooops, computer stuck!

Evesmama · 13/02/2005 19:49

hi girls
yorkie..i have clothes ranging from sizes 16-22??as all shops vary, but the ones i bought today were 22's from debenhams and m&s..the debs top is rather loose though, so was happy with that(strangly??)and the m&s one makes me look slimmer as its a very nice cut and was only £12.

was happy when i went into m&s changing room though as when i took my top off i realised that my normal massive roll of flab hanging all around the top of my jeans was................gone!!! and tonight i went to put jim jams on and very easilly slipped jeans off without unbuttoning or unzipping and i only ironed them fresh on this morning so they hadnt gone baggy as they do, so that cheered me up a bit.

Loobz, there seem to be quite a few of us with the same 'problem' then! There must be some kind of exercise that could help.... Or perhaps I should just get counselling to convince me to feel proud of them lol!

EM well done to you too!! Ooh, we are all going to be so slim in our bikini's this summer.

mammya · 13/02/2005 20:47

Hello everyone, hope you all had a nice week end. I've been a bit naughty but then have done quite a bit of heavy lifting and stuff today. Hopefully one will balance the other!

Also reading your posts, Demented Miam et al, it struck me that perhaps you haven't heard of Bravissimo's clothing range , strappy tops, shirts and jackets for big-boobed women!

WigWamBam · 13/02/2005 21:49

Bravissimo don't go big enough for me . They tend to be big cup sizes with small band sizes.

Demented · 13/02/2005 21:49

mammya, I've got one of the Bravissimo strappy tops and I love it. The thing I would really like is a nice fitted jacket (trouser suit perhaps) but I don't really like the one in Bravissimo, it would be OK if I needed it for work but I work from home so am looking for something for going out in, it says office to me not night out.

Meant to say earlier that you are total inspiration miam, you are so positive and haven't lost sight of your goal which is very inspiring.

I on the otherhand have broken into the cooking chocolate, arrrgh (it is quite nice Belgian stuff but still cooking chocolate not really eating, will probably have a laxative effect ).

Demented · 13/02/2005 21:55

OK feel sick now.

OOOh Demented - cooking chocolate yeuch!! Thanks for your nice words. (You are the real inspiration - I wouldn't have done this if you hadn't introduced me to MN). I have a big advantage over most of you though - I don't have a sweet tooth so choccies and biccies don't tempt me. It's much easier to avoid having cheese, crisps and nuts in the house (all my downfalls) so it is not all down to sheer willpower! Weighed myself this morning and I seem to have put a pound on!!!! Have exercised a lot this week so d'you think it could me muscle?? Will see what happens tonight at the club. Went for a 3mile jog again this morning to try and burn it off. Am feeling very pleased because jogged all the way there and back without stopping once (it is a path along the hillfoots and is quite steep in places). Feel good now.

WigWamBam · 14/02/2005 14:26

This is going to sound really silly, but I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that my dh is trying to sabotage my diet! He's usually really supportive when I'm trying to lose weight, but this time he's twice come home with pizzas, twice with big bags of crisps, once with doughnuts, and last night he came in with a big bar of Green and Black's white chocolate - and this is all within a month! I'm really starting to think he's trying to sabotage my diet, and I'm feeling a bit annoyed about it. Does anyone else's dh do this - and how do you get around it without upsetting him?

Demented · 14/02/2005 14:43

WWB I don't think my DH does it deliberately but I think he sometimes doesn't realise. On Saturday we were out and stopped somewhere to pick up a takeaway lunch, I told him what I could have to fit in with my plan and he came back with that (low fat sandwich) and a big piece of choc cake, telling me that he was getting one and he thought I would be narkey if he didn't get me one, forget the fact that I was anxious about him off choosing my lunch for me anyway as I really wanted to stick to it.

Yesterday he did more or less the same thing, bringing some friends back for lunch and thinking he was doing well bringing some food back, white bread (which we don't generally have in the house anyway), coleslaw, twix biscuits and boasters.

I know I should be strong and say no, I'm not having that but it is difficult when someone plonks it in front of you, both days it was enough to set me off on some strange frenzy of eating all the wrong stuff and I am struggling today to get back to it (those tracks that we can't mention ).

miam, it was nice cooking choc, Belgian with a high cocoa content but yes the packaging was marked cooking chocolate and it had that plastic quality about it, goodness knows what possessed me I haven't done that in a long time.

Introducing you to MN was easy, you've done the hard bit by losing all that weight. I don't think I'm any lighter than the day I spoke to you about MN, lost some, put some on, lost some again! Really needing a large kick!

All the best for RC tonight! That rogue lb may be gone by then and even if it's not, you must be losing inches with all the exercise.

WigWamBam · 14/02/2005 15:31

What makes me think that my dh is doing it deliberately is the fact that when I've dieted previously, he has never, ever done this. You're right that it's hard to refuse the stuff when he's plonked it in front of me; I also don't like to offend him by deliberately refusing something that he's bought for me. I'm surprised that he would want to try and spoil things for me, that's all.

marj · 14/02/2005 15:44

Do you think he feels a bit threatened by the emerging new and more confident you?
Some people dont like change and maybe subconciously he is trying to keep you as you are. Not in a bad way I am sure, he just may feel a bit insecure about it.
You know what men are like, they would never say it!

WigWamBam · 14/02/2005 16:54

I don't know, there's not much change to see yet, so I wouldn't have thought so ... I did wonder whether he was feeling a bit insecure, although I didn't think he was that type.

If I ask him he'll deny everything, of course

Fennel · 14/02/2005 19:40

wwb - if it was my dp it would be cos he's just clueless about what food is fattening and what's not.
is he large himself?
does he like you the way you are and not want you thinner? (my dp is a breast man and wouldn't care what shape I was if it made my breasts bigger - he should meet some of you lot, obviously!

i shout at my dp when he suggests a fry-up for dinner etc but he's not doing it on purpose, he gets fed up of me rejecting his suggested meals.
