I want to be a size 12 by Chrimbo

And then eventually an 8.

But I need motivating.

I have been farting about on a diet for the last 3 weeks, but I keep cheating. Keep me on the straight and narrow, and in return, I can offer swift kicks up the harris for all of you what need it

Ooh, am sadly excited to be part of a weight loss plan! Will have to go and buy scales to weigh myself now....

Am doing the fresh fruit/skimmed milk/protein powder breakfast shake thing, and trying very hard not to eat biscuits, chocolate, sweets cheese or bread (sob!)

Have done my 20 minutes walking by walking to meeting this afternoon. Might even get to the gym tomorrow. Will do first weigh in on saturday with all the rest of you...

SheikYerbouti · 11/08/2008 16:43

WE WILL BE LIGHTER THIS SATURDAY. I PROMISE

Well I am officially CRAP

I am miserable today. Dh has been away 4 weeks now, got 3 more to go, its our anniverary tomorrow and I am fed up. To that end I took the kids to Macd's today, had a macchicken sandwich, and had a cherry bakewell (don't even like them ffs) on our return. Plus crackers, cheese etc.

BUT I am going to Pilates tonight so I will do an hour's exercise. Does PIlates count? It'd better!

orangina · 11/08/2008 17:29

Pilates is fab. Am trying to go once a week, and it makes my tummy hurt the day after, so assume it's doing something (if not immediately visible from the jelly on the outside...).

Slouchy · 11/08/2008 17:56

Oh I've been doing it for 2+ years, orangina - I am in an intermediate class now . It has changed my body shape, I am tons more muscular now (long and lean, not body-builder muscles)...the muscles are just shielded by a (diminshing) layer of blubber. Just wondered if it was hardcore enough for the Sheik, not exactly cardio-vascular.

BTW, hope you are "gently shake to wake the taste" orangina, not pervy animals shagging in a weird way orangina!!

LisaLessLumpy · 11/08/2008 20:39

I've been crap this week too I think its because I was losing weight for my holiday which I go on, on sunday, my subconsious is saying all your holiday clothes fit and a week before is not going to make any difference, so no need to flog yourself to lose any more

I am aiming for a loss on holiday though, AM I MAD??? we'll see, at the worst I want to stay the same as whatever I weigh on Saturday.

I will be doing loads more exercise on holiday than I get chance to atm, plus the apartment is on the third floor with no lifts so I was going to do 10 mins each morning running up and down them along with all the extra walking/swimming. Plus we are self catering so will just buy loads of salad and fish etc PLus DH will be there and he will stop me snacking between meals which will be a big help.

Wish me luck

scorpio1 · 11/08/2008 20:47

Wii fit is ace!! Have done 32 minutes tonight, god how hard is that running?!? Finished with yoga poses (last 4 minutes). Wii says i am 10st 2lb, so will weigh on that on saturday.

VictorianSqualor · 12/08/2008 09:04

I've been crap.
I did my twenty minutes yesterday and didn't eat much during the day, but, I had one of those days, you know the ones where the DC's aren't misbehaving as such but being really fucking annoying? One of those, plus I was pre-menstrual, so I had chips for dinner, from the chip shop, with bread and butter, and then wine, and chocolate.

Cappuccino · 12/08/2008 09:14

oh shoot me

shoot me now

I went out for a walk last night and had to admit to myself that my jeans have not shrunk it is me

and I am going out for dinner tonight for big treat thing but

Jahan · 12/08/2008 09:19

Slouchy - How often do you do pilates? I go once a week and wondered if thats enough. I feel like I should be doing it at least twice for it to make an actual difference.

Diet wise, I've been good. Exercise-wise, rubbish. I literally didn't even find 20mins to do something yesterday! I was on my feet all day though and didn't get to sit down properly til 9.
I have my pilates class this eve so will be going to that.

Good luck Lisa. Hope you have a fab holiday!

Slouchy, i am of course the lovely gently fizzy french drink orangina.... what is the pervy animals type (, do I actually want to know, have I got to name change now?!?!?!)

Diet wise, have been good, am taking supplements to (hopefully?) help with metabolism and blood sugar levels, and let's see!

Have a great holiday Lisa...

Cappuccino · 12/08/2008 12:31

pancakes and curry?

that's just wrong

well done on your salad. Was it nice?

Slouchy · 12/08/2008 13:16

Jahan - i go weekly, took about 15-20 sessions to notice a real difference. Would be better if I did some midweek but I never seem to be motivated.
Orangina, take a look atthis thread if you dare!

orangina · 12/08/2008 13:35

Haha! Bizarre! Will have to name change I think, just for clarification....

40 minutes on wii fit today

Jahan · 12/08/2008 17:38

Thanks Slouchy. I'm doing my 9th session tonight.

My sister just said to me (in a discussion about my weight) '...and you are huge at the moment...'
She is lovely and wasn't trying to be mean but the reality has really hit home
I'm never going to eat again. Boo hoo.
Not really but I'm more determined than ever now.

orangina · 13/08/2008 09:52

Not a very supportive comment from your sister Jahan...

I think we all need to eat lots of protein as it's supposed to help get our metabolism moving (and here I am assuming everyone's metabolism could do with a swift sheikhy style kick up the arse.... maybe not?!)

So it's grass fed steak for supper tonight! Am assuming all the £££ I am saving on not drinking wine every evening, can be re-invested in decent quality grub (grass fed steak much lower in saturated fats than ordinary grain fed cattle...). Am becoming food nerd.

I have to admit I have not been Sheiking my Bouti as I ought

Have had a tough weekend with lots of socialising, followed by leftovers.
Will try harder (probably).

VictorianSqualor · 13/08/2008 12:36

I've ben good on the exercise front and didn't have wine last night
