Thinking of going to my first SW meeting tomorrow. How long do the meetings last and what is the format, do you have to stay the whole time, is there a group discussion etc or can you just turn up, register, get weighed etc. and leave when you're done? Would stay but have childcare issues and there are no other local meetings at a more convenient time.

Thanks.

ColumBoneGrinder · 12/10/2008 20:16

oops

bohemianbint · 12/10/2008 20:24

thanks kilty!

Had a really tough weekend with DS1 which has inspired me to eat crap. (Emotional eating eh!) Am determined to start in earnest tomorrow.

Tommy · 12/10/2008 21:44

I need some inspiration for weekends! I do really well in the week and it all goes to pot at the weekend (says she having just had a panini with white bread and lots of cheese, too many glasses of wine and half a packet of chocolate fingers for tea... )

Colum - yes you can just get weighed and leave!

RiallyEeRiaee · 12/10/2008 21:48

of your tea Tommy.

I (despite feeling like the proverbial bag o'boiled shite just now having a had creeping migraine since yesterday morning) am shopped and ready for a new week

I might not weigh in tomorrow (no point methinks - emotional eating!) but would really like to lose this week.

The meetings are suppoed to be welcoming to kids Colum - have you rung the consultant in advance (I took DS2 once when he was small and cute - before he learnt to talk - and all the old ladies loved cooing at him). Good luck.

Tommy · 12/10/2008 22:00

please don't be envious Ria. It was nice but it's frustrating that I couldn't be bothered to make a proper SW dinner

Ah well - Monday tomorrow - start afresh and get weighed on Tuesday and see what the damage is

RiallyEeRiaee · 12/10/2008 22:07

that's one of SW downsides - the effort involed. It gets me too often

I am going to try the stuffed peppers this week, in the hope that the pepper/melted mozarella will deal with my pizza cravings.

Lurkingintheshaddows · 13/10/2008 08:36

Weeeerll my weekend didn't go according to plan. The man issues FINALLY came to a head on Thursday/Friday leaving me pretty upset to put it mildly - and my housemate bless her picked up the pieces with 2 bottles of wine and junk food on Friday night - followed by a massive pizza on Saturday night! Curved it all back in on Sunday, but then a text from the pathertic excuse of a man last night sent me reaching for a greasy bacon butty this morning

TOMORROW, back on points TOMORROW, hopefully I'll start behaving again when I go to class on wednesday. Freakyfrighty, the whole reason I need to do points for a bit is because I have lost all sense of portion control whilst on SW and I really think I need to get back on top of my portions, then carry on with SW.

RiallyEeRiaee · 14/10/2008 13:06

how's it going today lurking? You can't diet when there's an emotional crisis.

I am having a much better day today (because today the car didn't break down outside the bakers so I haven't bought DH a bacon butty and not had one myself, and so missed breakfast). Big cooked free-on-green breakfast. Have had both my HEBs for lunch though, and DH out tonight so tea should be easy enough to cope with (provided I cope with the kids). Spicky quorn & rice, pasta with garlic mushrooms or stuffed couscous stuffed peppers

Didn't bother weighing in though

ColumBoneGrinder · 14/10/2008 15:51

Does anyone know if whey protein powder is considered a free food on red days?

heavy · 14/10/2008 20:37

? about the whey sorry. I would guess not if it's derived from milk though.

to find I lost 3.5 lbs this week!
It has been one of my worst weeks for following the plan. Sometimes there is just no sense to these things.
maybe I have a tapeworm or something
Either way I am having a takeaway!
New password is pepper

ckc · 14/10/2008 20:39

hi ladies can i join in with you guys i started slimming world very reluctantly 2 week ago as a few lasses from work were going thought id better join the fun i lost 6 and half pounds the 1st week, and weigh in last night 3 and half pounds so not doing bad considering i didn't want to go....

Lurkingintheshaddows · 15/10/2008 08:39

Ria - I'm not really back on track yet, as I start the classes tonight so I had a bit of a one last stand yeserday, (did points, ran out of points before dinner time so ate chocolate as well as dinner?!) and am following points today. Only thing is I am going to miss my second weigh in next week so I MUST I MUST I MUST stick to my points for 2 weeks, and hope to have a very respectable loss in 2 weeks time.

RiallyEeRiaee · 15/10/2008 10:19

I had a good day yesterday, mainly because I went to bed at the same time as the kids (and didn't eat their leftovers). I only had 1.5 syns!!!

Hi ckc, good luck everyone

Tommy · 15/10/2008 13:05

right - weighed in yesterday and stayed the same so I am firmly back on the wagon this week and have started writing everything down again.

I really just want to get back into a size 12...

kiltycoldbum · 15/10/2008 13:12

Hello all! and hello ckc good going! Well i had my week 2 weigh in and i stayed the same, so am secretly very pleased as i had 3 days over the weekend of eating the most magnificent amount of crap ever, got back on the plan Monday so quite pleased i am where i am today!

However it is back on it proper to try and lose for next week i am aiming for 2lbs loss! Ive stuck to it today apart from 1 normal sugar in my tea at playgroup

onwards and upwards, well until the dcs srive me insane and i open the chocolate dh so thoughtfully bought for me!

Lurkingintheshaddows · 15/10/2008 13:53

Well today so far I have had:
Yoghurt, 2 potato cakes (they worked out very high in points! )
HM butternut squash soup
WW ready meal
Kinder chocolate thingy
Am planning on snacking on HM carrot and coriander soup and having a lasagne with a jacket potato and 1/2 tin of baked beans for my dinner, leaving me with a few points to carry over in case the weekend gets interesting

The interesting thing about WW is that I am learning to fill up on 0 point food - sound familiar?! and that's on the POINTS plan!
I am waddling off to class tonight, planning on stocking up on some truly yummy sounding chocolate bars!

Well done on the good day Ria, keep up the good work!

RiallyEeRiaee · 15/10/2008 14:46

interesting lurking. shame WW free food is not as generous as SW (I hated having to count fruit, so didn't eat much)

cooked SW free breakfast this morning, then pasta saald made with HEB of tuna (I couldn't eat it all, so some for snacking tonight), roast chicken dinner tonight, and as I only had that tiny amount of syns yesterday, I'm going to blow 14.5 on a vanilla slice that DH bought me on Monday, but I've got all of todays and those in-hand from yesterday so it should be ok?

I just want to lose something (rather than the will to live)

Lurkingintheshaddows · 15/10/2008 17:38

Ria, eat that vanilla slice with a clear conscience, and I'm proud of you that you do actually know the syn value rather than say s*d it!

I blew a couple more points this afternoon on a chocolatey cereal bar, so am going to swap the jacket potato and baked beans for 0 point veg - not looking forward to dinner as much now - but that would still leave me some points for a wispa....

I'm doing exactly the same with fruit - when there is a choice of a banana or a lovely diet friendly chocolate bar, which one am I going to go for, really?! Its not the healthy one! but then I figure hopefully having that choice is novel enough for me to make me stay on the plan and actually LOSE SOME WEIGHT THIS YEAR!!!

Doesn't mean I'm happy about some veg not being free either. I mean, since when did anyone get fat from eating too many PARSNIPS for goodness sake!!

Rant over!

ckc · 15/10/2008 20:44

hi back girls, today i had chicken chicken and more chicken if i see another chicken im going to scream....x

RiallyEeRiaee · 15/10/2008 20:48

but ckc "on an orignal day if you want to eat 10 chickens you can eat 10 chickens"

TBH lurking I would have eaten it anyway, but checking the syns and finding out it was manageable made me , and so I'm still within-plan and not on a massive binge. As it happens I've only had 2.5 syns pre-vanilla slice anyway (DH forgot to put the yorkshire puddings in the oven)

Have planned for tomorrow too, but having the loft insulated so might be mega-stressed

fingers crossed!

ckc · 15/10/2008 21:10

i know i can but where's the burger buns, mayo, chips and a coke no wonder im this size and doc has told me my weight wont help me conceive...

RiallyEeRiaee · 15/10/2008 21:19

sorry ckc, didn't mean to be flippant. FWIW I'll feel like that about eggs and rice very soon!

why can't someone come up with a pizza and wine diet. Then I'd be thin and happy

kiltycoldbum · 15/10/2008 21:22

so ive had 2 glasses of wine and a family size bag of revels i dont even feel its just shit! i am weak, infact im just struggling with depression and mood swings! bollards!

RiallyEeRiaee · 15/10/2008 21:24

you're doing really well though ckc, do you always do red days? I nearly always do green - I wonder if its the boredom that gets me? do you mind me asking how much you have to lose?
