notso, do like Ryvita Breads, but that stuf they sell at the meetings looks unapetizing....and I suppose it doesn't just look it, lol!
Very glad the BBQ sauce went down well...I love it I suppose if you had someone to cater for who would dislike the conststency with the onions, it could just be blended down, and they'd be non the wiser....lol...

frozen Puffpastry (28g) has 7 syns....well the Asda one...
Jus rol- Filo Pastry sheet (45g sheet) has 5.5 syns...
can't find anything else, that is low synish, sorry

Baby...it's easy to have under 10 syns...just make completely synfree meals using superfree foods and the HE's

Pinkjenny · 29/08/2008 10:37

I'm going to a wedding reception tonight. I'm driving though to avoid the alcohol. It's the first test, ladies!!!

notsoteenagemum · 29/08/2008 10:44

Scan Bran is gross but it does keep you regular! I could only eat it with all of the laughing cow lights on, its really husky. God the pastry is a no go then. DS's birthday wanted to make sausage rolls with extra lean pork mince.
Good luck for tonight PJ!

3andnomore · 29/08/2008 10:52

good luck pj....
notso....yeah pastrty is general quite high in syn....
how about making litte meatballs, and maybe low syn scotch eggs...there was a recipe in the sw magazin...

3andnomore · 29/08/2008 10:52

lol ledodgy

Pinkjenny · 29/08/2008 10:55

Does anyone have any tried and tested cakes I can make that are low in syns? I love baking (and eating the results), and am craving cake.

Anyone?

3andnomore · 29/08/2008 11:03

hm, cheesecakes are low syn, well, if done a certain way

nappyaddict · 29/08/2008 11:12

what are the irish diet yogs?

3andnomore · 29/08/2008 11:13

what are they, nappy

3andnomore · 29/08/2008 11:14

no idea...lol

Pinkjenny · 29/08/2008 11:20

Have printed out chocolcate cake (with All Bran ) and Bread and butter pudding.

I;ll let you know how it goes.

notsoteenagemum · 29/08/2008 11:32

PJ will give you the ryvita cake recipe if I can find it.
Good idea with the meatballs. Ta.

andyrobo237 · 29/08/2008 12:54

nappyaddict - the Diet Irish yogs are very tasty - they are 'traditionally made in the churn for that extra creamy taste' so there! Guess what I am eating at the mo! They have no sugar in them and no gluten, just sweetener. I get them online at Tesco - 8 in a pack for £2.09 I think!

3andnomore · 29/08/2008 13:14

oh, they are yoghurts...just checked Asda and they don't do them....maybe Morrisons does

as for yoghurts, I love Aldis Bip pot ones...especially teh Muesli ones, yum

andyrobo237 · 29/08/2008 13:15

Those of you that go to a class - do you get anything out of it? I went to a brill one when I was off on mat leave, but cant go now. There are several evening classes around, but one lady does a 4pm, 5.30pm and 7pm class all on the same day - which is great as I could go at any of the times ti suit what I am doing that day workwise, but she is basically rubbish! I went to the 7pm class once and no-one stayed (yet 70 people had signed in over that day). THe next week 2 of us stayed, and she didnt tell us anyting of any use - felt that it was a rip-off and she was creaming off the money for minimal effort. Is this standard, or are am I just unlucky??!!

3andnomore · 29/08/2008 13:21

my class is really nice...but I wish there was more real image therapy...used to go to a SW class years ago and there was a lot more of it done...and the WW classes I tried out were also a bit better...
however, the SW consultant is still pretty new, I think, and the group is newish...that might have somehting to do with it!
At the moment, it's mstly coming in getting weighed and waiting for "group" to start and than it's mostly about how much each one lost or put on, what that person wants to achieve for next time , when put on what could they do different...and than maybe a few words about new products and recipe ideas , poems /shortstory,and the raffles....

I wish they wopuld go more into the psychology of weightloss, and habits and stuff like that....
not sure if I am making sense, sorry

nappyaddict · 29/08/2008 14:33

has anyone tried the creamy pasta sauce. i don't have any onions to caramelise so do i need to bother with the water?

nappyaddict · 29/08/2008 19:45

also has anyone tried the fishcakes? can you make them without the butternut squash?

babyjjbaby · 29/08/2008 20:09

when i used to go to class years ago it ws fab but it don't seem as good now all u do is get weighed and then she talks to everyone who stays and says liek how much u lost or put on and the next week how much u would like to lose that week and have u got any event coming up i don't think it is very good tbh i don't think i will go to class for much longer

3andnomore · 29/08/2008 20:37

nappy, not tried either recipes, sorry!
however I would think that Butternut squash is probably not that important...

3andnomore · 29/08/2008 20:39

when I used to do ww they would only anounce very big losses and also ask if anyone was particularly pleased or disappointed...rather than naming everyone....that gave more time to talk about bodyimage, tips and hints....I think...

nappyaddict · 29/08/2008 20:51

just wondered cos i did them without and they kept falling apart and wondered if that had anything to do with it.

3andnomore · 29/08/2008 21:24

what were the other ingredients in those fishcakes?

nappyaddict · 29/08/2008 21:24

salmon, mashed carrots, spring onions, some spices and a beaten egg.
