Hiya all - another week another thread.

I'm not happy today - 11.5 this morning and I was 11.4 in the middle of last week.

Enthusiasm is flagging a bit, but I'm sure it's only temporary. If I go to the gym - or should that be WHEN I go to the gym I'll feel better I'm sure.

How's everone else - it's been very quiet in here lately

Sorry not a wuss just sadly dispirited, useless avon scales went back, my mum bought some new ones and on those I weighed 2lb more than I thought I was before I started!
After rebel weekend with italian restaurants and roast lamb, am now back on the path to slimness (Ha ha!)
Today no breakfast (builders turned up at 7.30)
lunch-one sandwich with linseed and soya bread, lean chicken and tomato. One mango
Tea-cold roast lamb,tabbouleh,green salad
Weight unknown-will buy new scales asap
OK?

iota · 02/02/2005 09:55

hi miggy - poor you re scales - i haven't dared used the super accurate ones at the health club yet - am using my old fashioned analogue ones at home.

was a pound heavier today from yesterday - must stop this daily weighing - am going to do exteme Tesco shopping - pushing that laden trolley must burn a few calories

Hulababy · 02/02/2005 10:20

Oh iota - if only that was a good excuse; need to get healthier to maximise chances of TTC I think. Just back from doctors though, adnd then a long nap - got sent home from work yesterday. I have proper flu Hurt everywhere. Just cecking e-mails from work, and then going back to bed.

iota · 02/02/2005 10:24

trick one Hula - I know you're supposed to be the right weight, fit and healthy etc, but I also thought that when you diet your body thinks food is scarce and you are less likely to conceive...survival of the fittest and all that.

Or perhaps I only think that from reading Watership Down

OP posts:
Hulababy · 02/02/2005 10:25

LOL iota - looks like diet is out of way until i feel better anyway. Off back to bed now..catch up with MN later.

iota · 02/02/2005 10:26

get well soon Hula

AuntyQuated · 02/02/2005 10:54

am here and not a wuss

last week 9 12 broke the 10 st barrier

this week still 9 12 hmmmmm

still trying lots of veg, lots of fruit, go-ahead biscuits , and one creme egg

still not made it to the gym; why we fork out all that dosh, i have no idea. we have to pay for all four of us now. and we are lucky if dh gets their to swim with the kids once a month

weightwatchingwaterwitch · 02/02/2005 11:47

Hope you feel better soon hula.
Well, I haven't lost anything and I'm really pissed off about it. Any ideas why anyone? I really, really think I've been under 1500 cals/day (which is correct for the amt I have to lose) plus I've been walking quite a bit. But AF due in a couple of days so shall I wait until then to weigh again? Do you think it's that? Water or something? I feel really depressed about it. I'm still not drinking either. Also want to turn down a Sunday lunch invitation but don't want to admit to diet (can't explain why but wouldn't discuss it IRL) what can I say? I really don't want to drink either so it's really best not to go given that there will be pressure to drink and raised eyebrows if I don't.

weightwatchingwaterwitch · 02/02/2005 11:49

And I haven't been getting enough sleep either because of dd waking, do you think that's it?

iota · 02/02/2005 15:00

I think it's AF wwww - me too - was 11.5 then 11.4 now 11.5 again all in a couple of days - am feeling bloated too

OP posts:
weightwatchingwaterwitch · 02/02/2005 15:04

Thanks Iota, I've just read an article in Slimming magazine about pms and how you can put on 3-5lb before AF and it's massively improved my temper on the subject! Off for a walk now as ds is at at a friends for tea so no school run. I'll weigh again next week. Enid, re pumpkin seeds, were you eating them because they help with pmt? Just read about them being good for it and will try almost anything as I'm loopy atm.

lowcalCOD · 02/02/2005 15:07

it makes no difference to me

chocfreeclary · 02/02/2005 15:15

Hula, that's fantastic news on the swimming, well done you, I recall you saying you were struggling to do 5 lengths so 20 is great!
Iota, I did Pilates this week so feelign virtuous (do you ache the next day??)
However haven't been for a run for more than a week (was ill last week but still...)
Also eating too much. The day starts well but descends into chaos by teatime, I seem to snack madly while cooking.
Yesterday DH did a thing at a new deli opening here and came back with a box of the most fantastci cakes, a blackcurrant mousse creation and some kind of caramel/tiramisu concoctions...it would have been rude not to help him eat them!
However the goood news is that Sunday am I still weighed 10st 7, so not gained any weight....

HeyEnidYouveLostWeight · 02/02/2005 15:44

wwww if its any help I am due on in a couple of days and feel pretty wretched - have LOADS of stress at work which doesn't help - have just sent an email ducking out of something I promised I would do at work as I literally cannot push myself anymore/do any more - dreading the response...am also resigning from village hall committee (by email) in a minute - arrghh!

Went to baby gym this am with dd2 and all the badly behaved children REALLY GOT ON MY NERVES !!

Still, am still 10 10 but like others here I am not losing very quickly if at all - just pleased my weight is fairly stable.

Also sleeping badly too.

Just had lunch at a friends house and had homemade bread (delicious, had two thick slices), homemade soup, homemade chicken liver pate and a slice of homemade ginger cake. Don't feel guilty as it was very nurturing in my delicate state...

iota · 02/02/2005 16:06

dh has been to a major chocolate manufacturer in B'ham and went to the staff shop.........

Creme egg party anyone? We've got 50 and I've just told him I don't like them

OP posts:
iota · 02/02/2005 16:09

and Chocfree - yes I hurt all over from doing gym on Mon and Pilates on Tues - gave myself the day off today and did the trolley push at Tescos for exercise

FineFigureFio · 02/02/2005 16:09

I havent been to weigh in this week as dd ill
have still been plugging away though.......

puddle · 02/02/2005 16:13

I'm still here. Had a truly dreadful week last week at work and home and just comfort ate so too embarrassed to come on and admit my lack of will power. But seem to have stabilised at 9lb 5 for the last week and a half - whatever I do doesn't seem to effect it. I've been sticking to wheat free most of the time (allow myself some lapses at weekends) and my stomach is definitely flatter. Eating lots of fish, rice and salad this week. BUT have been drinking a bit of red wine - cheeky glass here and there.

gingerbear · 02/02/2005 16:17

Right, back to business.
I have also had bad cold and PMT. Comfort eating- overdosing on carbs so weight is sticking.
Need to get my head round this again.

weightwatchingwaterwitch · 02/02/2005 17:56

Thanks for the comfort enid, sorry you're feeling murderous too. Puddle, oh how I dream of 9 5! Blimey, poor you chocfreeclary and iota, I couldn't have resisted. Bought dairy free choc today and have parcelled it into 100 cal packs...

weightwatchingwaterwitch · 02/02/2005 18:18

Today

1 piece toast, olive spread, Marmite
1 piece toast, no olive spread but peanut butter but I needed something stodgy

mushrooms cooked in water
baby sweetcorn
6 cherry tomatoes

iota · 02/02/2005 18:21

OP posts:
HeyEnidYouveLostWeight · 03/02/2005 18:07

oh dear, these threads are slipping.

10 12 this am

Hoping that AF is making a difference [fingers crossed emoticon]

muesli, blueberries

prawn sandwhich (235 cals), banana, miso soup

boiled egg with dukka (Fat Girl Slim miracle recipe for teatime snackers)

Tonight...cupboard bare as have had no time to go shopping. Could be leftovers of chicken with squash, mushrooms and cabbage (also miraculous Fat Girl Slim recipe) or maybe pasta with olive oil, chili garlic and wilted spinach.

littlemissbossy · 03/02/2005 18:17

Hi everyone, still hanging in there with the diet although haven't weighed myself for the last couple of weeks because I don't own any scales! But am definately continuing to lose weight, the jeans I have on today are a size 12 and they actually feel loose - before christmas they were really tight!!

weightwatchingwaterwitch · 03/02/2005 18:18

Do you like the book enid? Yes, where is everyone? I've been here, religiously posting my food intake and everyone else must be either bored to death by it or, maybe, they're all slim?

Today

1 piece toast, marmite
200g king prawns (140 cals)
1 small box of raisins
1 pack sesame snaps (154 cals)
1 caramel rice cake (50 cals)
1 marmite (30 cals)
couple of large strawberries
couple of grapes
1 apple
small glass apple juice
about to have mussels in thai broth from Fat Girl Slim followed by Red Mullet later, with mange tout and baby sweetcorn.

I made Nigella's fairy cakes with ds this afternoon and ate 2, with pink icing on top too oh well, I did walk him to school.
I'm going to have a piece of 100 cal dairy free chocolate in front of an episode each of 24 and Desperate Housewives (taped from last night) later too. Thanks for listening!
