Have dabbled in various wl chats before but starting my own thread for accountability - would love some people to join me!

Weighed in yesterday at the heaviest I've ever been excluding pregnancy - 59.6kg 😓 In all honesty I shouldn't be shocked, my diet has been crap, but I'm just so disappointed in myself for letting it slide up so much (I was 56kg in May).

Anyway! Trying to stay positive and focus on the changes I will be making. Luckily I have lots to motivate me: a big birthday in late September that I want to be healthier for, and a very fancy wedding in October that is basically a college reunion so I want to look my best!

Plan is to seriously overhaul my diet (started yesterday), I already exercise a fair bit but will up the walking.

Not sure yet how often I'll weigh in but for posterity:

SW: 59.6
TW: 52ish

Edit to add that I am very short I'm case that's not clear!

Amazing progress @Amayonaising

thanks for the reminder…

week… 4 I think?

SW 81.6
CW 77.3

and just this week my clothes feel a little looser so I suppose 4kg was what I really needed to shift to start noticing it, a good week for me too :)

SaltySpitoon · 22/08/2026 12:50

Just over a week (8 days) since I started my weight loss journey and I'm already 3kg down? Was 80kg on the 13th, this morning I am 77kg. I know not to expect this kind of loas every week, and that most of it is likely water weight rather than fat, but still. A loss is a loss 🤣

I've also noticed since I've started eating healthier that I have way more energy and just generally feel better! So that's a huge plus 😊

Sunflowers83 · 22/08/2026 16:12

Well done @Amayonaising, @tralalalalalalalaala and @SaltySpitoon That’s some amazing progress!

Using my Happy Scale moving average:
SW: 8st13.5
Today: 8st12.2
Target: ?8st?

SpiceLover · 22/08/2026 19:23

Sorry I’m late to post my update! I did weigh this morning but forgot to post.

Start weight 80.5
Current weight 78.9
Goal weight 66

Heres to a good week ahead for us all 😊

Amayonaising · 23/08/2026 17:47

Very lazy weekend here, it's been delightful!

Went out for lunch today and had a lovely halloumi salad, it was actually really nice leaving a restaurant and not feeling stuffed 😅

Feeling a little nervous about tomorrow's appt and the prospect of going back on hormones - don't want anything to muck up my progress so far.

Hello! Quick check in as I'm actually supposed to be working (oops).

Going into wk 2 for me
SW 58.8kg
CW 57.5kg
TW 53.5kg

So that's a decent start. Went camping over the weekend and did lots of walking so that probably helped balance the camping snacks. Back on the intermittent fasting/no snacks approach today. Might add in some jogging when son back at school.

Thanks for keeping us on track @Amayonaising hope things go well at the Drs @SaltySpitoon wow well done, good work!

Octovent · 24/08/2026 11:50

I'm back from my trip away and 1.5kg up! Oh joy. I'm away again on Friday for a weekend of camping. Lots of life holding me back at the moment - tracking again today and need to try harder!

Sunflowers83 · 24/08/2026 18:18

Well done @SpiceLover and @CocoaMoloko

@Amayonaising Hope your appointment was helpful.

@Octovent Hope you’ve felt more on track today. Some of that gain might be water weight.

Octovent · 25/08/2026 06:38

Today I'm 1.3kg back down so it must have been water weight. I did well yesterday, kept in a deficit, tracked, went to the gym. But it was easy as I was still on annual leave. Back to work today, long may my deficit continue

CocoaMoloko · 25/08/2026 10:19

Oh that's good @Octovent seeing +1.5kg must have been demoralising, well done for staying on track!

I feel very hungry this morning 🫣 trying to remember it's a good sign. Takes a while to adjust to the intermittent fasting

tralalalalalalalaala · 26/08/2026 09:20

I’m finding it hard in general this week to keep up with anything or find motivation for anything… i wasn’t crazy diligent yesterday (though still definitely in a deficit) and the scales were up today… I ate later than usual though which I know often impacts the numbers the next day but it is frustrating feeling like you can’t have a day off! I know it’s more important to look at the weekly trend but it’s hard not to feel demotivated on days like this this…

Amayonaising · 26/08/2026 15:27

Well done @Octovent good to hear the hard work doesn't disappear so quickly.

Keep it up @CocoaMoloko, it definitely takes a couple of weeks to get into the swing of fasting, especially if you're used to eating fairly early. I find a hot drink is a good way to tide you over for the last hour or so, I drink herbal tea but I know lots of people just put a small drop of milk in normal tea and don't consider that cheating.

It is frustrating when one 'lazy' day puts the scales right back up @tralalalalalalalaala but I also find it depends massively on how late I eat and how salty it is so it's definitely more to do with bloating/digestion than being true weight imo.

Not feeling too motivated myself this week, but DH commented this morning that it looks like I need a belt on my work trousers - they had been getting too tight so I stopped wearing these ones in July!

I'm coasting again. Calories are at the higher end of ok, and I'm away for a long weekend again tomorrow. I'll be pleased if I get through August roughly maintaining though, there's been lots in the way. September looks clear of potential naughtiness so I can have a big push!

SmallWhiteFluffyClouds · 27/08/2026 16:13

Hello all! I haven’t checked in for a little while but I’ve been eating fairly well since my holiday and fasting until lunchtime.

I’ve discovered I really enjoy a scotch egg with lots of salad for lunch and it’s pretty filling and low cal. A good one for work.

I’m down under the 10 stone mark which I’m happy about!

sw: 10st 3
cw: 9st 13
tw: 9st 6

SupernaturalAddict · 28/08/2026 10:13

Hi all, well done guys on the loss! Hope your hormone appt went well @Amayonaising.

@tralalalalalalalaala it can be so difficult to keep on track. Maybe allow yourself a few treats or a bit of what you want then get back on it? That way you're not denying yourself. Although I may not be the best person to give advice as I've caved this week.

I'm away atm, I started off really well in the first couple of days but in the last few I've had wine, ice cream (with whipped cream and sauce), cake and I've just had pancakes with maple syrup for bfast. I know the scales will punish me when I get home. Only a couple of days to go and I will try to do better. It's just so diffficult when not prepping your own food and so many tempting offerings around.

tralalalalalalalaala · 28/08/2026 10:35

Thanks @SupernaturalAddict yes I did just kind of give myself a couple days where I wasn’t as strict. It just gets so boring sometimes?! All the meal planning etc.

but I did a hard workout last night and actually I find working out really helps me get back on track because I don’t want to have done it for nothing. Then it spurred me on to prep breakfast and plan the rest of my meals today so I feel much more on track and much more positive about it all in general.

I don’t think the numbers will be down from last week for my weigh in tomorrow BUT I know that’s okay too :)

Amayonaising · 29/08/2026 10:10

Good morning!

Calling @SpiceLover @SupernaturalAddict @Sunflowers83 @tralalalalalalalaala and anyone else who wants to join our Saturday share ⚖️

Week 4 ✔️
Sw: 59.6kg
Cw: 55.5kg
Tw: 52kg

Very happy with that, more than half way even though I know it's the easier half! DH was checking his bmi yesterday and did mine too, it's under 24 now which is great considering I was in the 'overweight' band when I started.

Thanks @SupernaturalAddict , the appointment was good, the doctor was really listening which is rare enough! I have to go for ultrasounds and get bloods done before starting any hormone therapy to rule out a few things, but silver lining is that gives me a bit more time to get my weight down to something I'm happy with.

Weigh in today!

SW: 12 stone 8lbs (79.8kg)
CW: 11 stone 13lbs (75.8kg)
GW: 10 stone 3lbs (65kg)

So 9lbs down in just over two weeks! Again I'm sure most is just water weight/bloating rather than true fat loss, but I'm pretty pleased 😊

SmallWhiteFluffyClouds · 29/08/2026 11:50

Wow that’s amazing @SaltySpitoon and @Amayonaising ! Well done!

SpiceLover · 29/08/2026 12:42

Thanks for the reminder @Amayonaising but I’m not weighing today due to being away. I’m also away next weekend but may be able to weigh before I go. Well done everyone!

CrowsInMyGarden · 29/08/2026 14:46

SW: 12st 5lbs
CW: 11st 7lbs
GW: 11st 0lbs

I weigh every day and it has been 11st 9lbs all week, then this morning 11st 7lbs.

I’ve said before I’m making sure everything I eat is 3% fat or under as I have been in pain with suspected angry gallbladder. Finally given up alcohol too as have fatty liver (docs found it when looking at my gallbladder). AI says that if I get to 11 st the fatty liver will probably be reversed. I am due a blood test in November to check Cholesterol and Triglycerides as they are good indicator of how fatty the liver is.

I have tried to lose weight since 2010 but just couldn’t do it. It’s taken being in pain for me to finally get motivated.

tralalalalalalalaala · 29/08/2026 15:04

SW 12st 12.2
CW 12st 1!

yippee 2lbs down from last week!

still a way to go to my target weight of 10st but thrilled to be down 11lbs!

thanks for the motivation. I wasn’t expecting a loss this morning so really happyyyy with that.

I hope you’re doing okay @CrowsInMyGarden I had my gallbladder out last year after a lot of issues and trying to stick to a more balanced lower fat/higher fibre little and often schedule now.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 29/08/2026 17:50

SW 12.3
CW 12.05
i lost 2lb this week and got my half a stone award back at slimming world. And slimmer of the week!

Sunflowers83 · 29/08/2026 20:24

Well done @Amayonaising- that’s amazing progress! How many calories are you eating on average? So pleased you had a helpful appointment with the doctor.

Wow @SaltySpitoon - also amazing progress! Well done.

@SpiceLover Hope you’re having a good time away.

Well done @CrowsInMyGarden, @tralalalalalalalaalaand @teaandtoastwithmarmite - also great progress!

Sadly, I’m going against the pattern of all this brilliant progress.

Using my Happy Scale moving average.
SW: 8st13.5
Today: 8st13
Target: ?8st?

My moving average was 8st12.4 last Saturday. Not ideal! I’m determined I will see a loss next week.

Amayonaising · 29/08/2026 23:08

Well done everyone ❤️

So pleased (and inspired) to see all the progress, we're great aren't we!

I'm aiming for around 1100kcal a day @Sunflowers83 but I don't track super strictly - for me the biggest difference just comes from cutting out all the junk/snacks and then I can have a big enough dinner to feel properly full. 🤞🤞 for a loss for you next week.
