Lose a stone with me!

Have dabbled in various wl chats before but starting my own thread for accountability - would love some people to join me!

Weighed in yesterday at the heaviest I've ever been excluding pregnancy - 59.6kg 😓 In all honesty I shouldn't be shocked, my diet has been crap, but I'm just so disappointed in myself for letting it slide up so much (I was 56kg in May).

Anyway! Trying to stay positive and focus on the changes I will be making. Luckily I have lots to motivate me: a big birthday in late September that I want to be healthier for, and a very fancy wedding in October that is basically a college reunion so I want to look my best!

Plan is to seriously overhaul my diet (started yesterday), I already exercise a fair bit but will up the walking.

Not sure yet how often I'll weigh in but for posterity:

SW: 59.6
TW: 52ish

Edit to add that I am very short I'm case that's not clear!

Hi all, wel done to all the losers (of weight)!

I weighed myelf yest and was 12 stone exactly so that's half a stone off so far. I think it'll start to slow down now for me especially as I have a few days away coming up.

Amayonaising · 18/08/2026 18:28

Well done @SupernaturalAddict that's a great loss! What's your goal weight?

Welcome @PollysKenwood too!

I didn't get a chance to weigh myself this morning, slept in and was in a rush getting out of the house.. funnily enough it's kind of thrown me off all day!

On my period and I had my first chocolate bar since the end of July last night - big achievement for me to abstain so long. I 'saved' the calories for it especially, so feel no guilt, but would like to stay away from chocolate as much as possible, the reason I even had it was because my sister brought them to our house!

Feeling a bit rough now with cramps etc, so am just going to try and go easy on myself - don't want to fall off the wagon altogether but don't want it to feel like a punishment either.

@Amayonaising how did it taste? I gave up sugar altogether for 4 months last year and the first time I ate chocolate again it tasted really intense (the no sugar thing was good, actually, easier than some sugar, but I'm not very good at sticking to new habits/breaking old ones)

Sunflowers83 · 19/08/2026 07:24

Good morning, everyone.

I’ve been away and got really behind with this thread. I was waiting to post until I had read/caught up with all your posts, but after realising I’ve missed over 100 posts I think I might just have to hop back in here? Hope that’s ok. Hopefully I’ll gradually catch up on all your updates. I should be able to check-in every day now.

Check-in today, using my ‘Happy Scale’ moving average:
SW: 8st13.5
Today: 8st12.0
Target: ?8st?

SpiceLover · 19/08/2026 08:00

Start weight: 82 kg
Current weight: 79.3 kg

Pleased to see a shift on the scales today after not moving for a couple of days😊I’m finding the daily weighing really motivating and I love the Happy Scales app for seeing my progress. Thanks to those who recommended it

Octovent · 19/08/2026 10:17

I'm up 0.7kg after four days away. Will do a couple of days tracking now and then back away for another four days. These little trips are doing my hips no good!

It was fine but not amazing! It was only a little cadburys bar, I find all their chocolate is too sweet nowadays tbh. Honestly earing chocolate is just a bad habit for me, so much of it isn't even nice. I should probably just treat myself to a really nice, good quality bar every once in a while.

Well done on the loss @SpiceLover, you're flying along!

Great to have you back @Sunflowers83, hope you enjoyed the time away and well done losing while you were away!

Agree that it's tough going staying on track while away @Octovent

Yes definitely agree about Cadbury's chocolate, so disappointing now. Too sweet and kind of waxy...

Day 2 here. Feeling quite lethargic, I think that could be more because I've got a cold. But I'm also half a kilo down already? Started my period too, so I wonder if this has something to do with it?

Good job @SpiceLover

Sunflowers83 · 19/08/2026 18:09

Thanks for the welcome back @Amayonaising.

I’ve finally had time to read through some of the thread from the last couple of weeks. Welcome to all the new people. @Goodvibesonly I think I was on a thread similar to this with you earlier this year (but I might have had a different user name)?

I agree about disappointing Cadbury chocolate. I don’t eat much chocolate at all and when I do, often have 90% dark chocolate but I thought I was really craving milk chocolate yesterday and realised we still had some Easter egg (best before July!), so ate some and it was SO disappointing. I don’t think it was due to it being out of date, just generally disappointing.

I actually find some of the protein puddings/desserts/mousses satisfy my monthly chocolate craving more and they usually have 20g of protein. They are obviously ultra processed and contain a lot of sugar, so I’m not saying they’re a ‘healthy’ option! Something else I’ve tried when I get an occasional chocolate craving is mixing chocolate protein powder into Greek yogurt and serving with berries. The protein & fibre satisfies more than just having chocolate, but I get the chocolate taste.

Welcome @PollysKenwood too!

Pre children i was about 9 1/2 stone but i don't think that's realistic for me to aim for now. Anywhere under 10 1/2 would be great!

Gutted to read about cadbury chocolate, I was planning on having some chocolate at the stone mark.

@Sunflowers83 which deserts have you been eating please? I quite like the kvarg and alpro protein ones.

Sunflowers83 · 19/08/2026 18:47

@SupernaturalAddict Usually whatever’s on offer!
My favourites are:
-Muller MyProtein chocolate pudding
-Muller MyProtein mousse dessert - chocolate or salted caramel (these feel like a real treat - I usually have half)
-Arla protein (chocolate or salted caramel flavour)
-GetPro chocolate & hazelnut (I think this is my favourite!)

Disclaimer - I’m not recommending these for weight loss, but figure if I’m going to have a dessert/chocolate, I may as well get lots of protein at the same time!

Hey everyone, I weighed in today and I'm down 2.6lbs so pretty happy with that, especially seeing as my period arrived today 2 days early. I weigh most mornings but not always. Had some crappy dark chocolate this evening and it was such a waste of calories.

Amayonaising · 19/08/2026 22:56

I'm sure I've read that weight goes up right before you start your period and then dips back down once it starts, so that might be the case for you @CocoaMoloko ? And maybe you too @thisisajoke22 , well done on the loss! We're all very in sync anyway 🩸

Yes the chocolate situation really is dire - easter eggs are especially rubbish in recent years. This year we found that the mars brand eggs were much better quality, so Maltesers, galaxy and twix. Might treat myself to a galaxy bar next time and see what that's like!

Hi all, I’m doing badly but have had 2 meals out with work and one family birthday meal over 3 days which is probably why I feel the size of the house!

Working from home the next 2 days so will be a lot more food conscious. I’ve lost nothing so far (in fact I’ve put on a bit) but I’m also about to get my period and my weight always balloons when that happens.

I have also started eating a chocolate protein yoghurt as a way to stop eating sweets/chocolate bars (I saw someone mention those earlier) and it’s actually working. I choose one with not too high sugar (otherwise I would be substituting one evil for another). My biggest downfall is crisps though. I also can’t exercise due to a health issue which means my weight is all about what I eat (which is v annoying!).

Hi everyone!

I joined for accountability but I’ve really been poor at posting so nothing really holding me very accountable other than myself.

but I have been encouraged reading everyone’s updates! And thought only fair to try and give a bit of encouragement myself with an update…

as of this morning I’m now I’m down 9.6lbs having started at 12st 12.2lbs.

I’ve been doing a lot of activity to support weight loss and hopefully feel stronger - averaging 13k steps in addition to Pilates and running a few times a week but we are back to school this week and I am so worried I won’t be able to keep up with all the movement I’ve been doing, as well as housework, washing, working… I find I start with such good intentions but eventually I get so tired on constant late nights and early starts to cram everything in… just fingers crossed for the best I guess, but it’s just hard to fit in all the things & trying to make it sustainable.

LOL sorry that was absolutely not encouraging whatsoever.

for a small boost of something fun I saw someone post chocolate covered raspberries from the freezer section in Aldi and I gave them a go and WOW. What a lovely little sweet treat in an evening. My downfall used to be a cup of tea and a little sweet treat while reading a book in bed and I’ve missed that ritual but trying to replace it with a cup of herbal tea (my favourite is cranberry and raspberry) and a handful of grapes or berries but will be adding a couple chocolate covered raspberries into the mix from now on!

Well done @tralalalalalalalaala ! That's super, sounds like you've been really focused and on track!

If people like I can start tagging them for weekly weight updates if that helps with accountability? I don't want to be annoying anyone though so not sure how best to do that... maybe like this post if you want to be tagged? (If someone has a better way of doing this lmk!)

Finally feel like I've gotten over the worst of my period, it's been a really rough week so I made a doctors appt for Monday to discuss options. Have stayed mostly on plan diet wise but have done no exercise at all since Monday so should try and rectify that this weekend.

Sorry it’s been a tough week @Amayonaising

I’d like to give weekly weight updates. Maybe we could have a set day that we give updates to help with accountability (but obviously fine to update in between as well)?

Yes sounds good, any day in particular anyone wants? I've been taking my Saturday weight as the weekly one just because I started on Sat 1st.

Saturday is good for me as that's the day I have to weigh for SW. But as I weigh daily, any is fine really!

Sunflowers83 · Yesterday 18:53

I also weigh every day and will use my Happy Scale moving average for whatever day we decide on. A Saturday would probably be my preference (in term-time, I can’t guarantee how much I’ll get on here on weekdays).

tralalalalalalalaala · Yesterday 19:34

A Saturday check in suits me! The scales are usually up slightly on a Monday anyway - they’re probably at their best on a Saturday for me!

Hope you’re feeling much brighter for the weekend @Amayonaising !

teaandtoastwithmarmite · Yesterday 23:00

Sorry not been on for a few days. Been having less food noise though and avoided cakes and donuts in the office all week!

Amayonaising · Today 11:44

Happy Saturday! 🥳

Check in time @SpiceLover @tralalalalalalalaala @Sunflowers83 @SupernaturalAddict and anyone else who wants to share.

Absolutely chuffed with myself this week, despite the small lapse in my chocolate boycott and my period, I've stayed on plan and the scales are rewarding me! Lightest I've been this year 💪
