Anyone want to join me on a two week hard-keto restart from June 29th?

After losing a very significant amount of weight, I’m stalling with the final 1.5st.

I know that Keto isn’t for everyone, but it works for me, albeit my downfalls are bread and sugary things so I’m going to do a two week burst of very strict keto, in the hopes that it’ll help me reset a little and find my motivation again.

Would anyone like to join me?

I currently have a fridge full of turkey burgers, Brie, and full-fat Greek yogurt.

I have been pretty off track the last day or two, but have been surprised thst Merlot is pretty low in carbs! I might have been better off not knowing that,

today 60g carbs 1762 calories 34 g fibre 149g protein - I won’t list the meals, as beyond even the 50g target.

Kitchenbattle · 05/07/2026 10:50

I weighed myself this morning and I’m 56kg bang on! I can’t believe how much or fast my weight is dropping tbh! And I really don’t feel like I’m denying myself at all!

this mornings breakfast
Breakfast – Yogurt, Homemade Granola & Blueberries

  • 150g fat-free Icelandic-style yogurt
  • 40g homemade low-carb granola
  • 75g blueberries
  • sprinkle of stevia
Estimated nutrition:
  • Calories: ~365 kcal
  • Protein: ~21g
  • Carbohydrates: ~28g
  • Fibre: ~7g
  • Fat: ~21g

The granola recipe is-

  • 150g pecans
  • 50g almonds
  • 50g walnuts
  • 30g cashews
  • 30g pumpkin seeds
  • 30g sunflower seeds
  • 15–20g milled flaxseed
  • 2tbsp melted Butter, cinnamon, a few drops of vanilla.
roughly chop the nuts, mix it all together and bake at 180deg for 10-15mins.

high enough carb but also high fibre so not too bad.

Clearingaspace · 05/07/2026 11:23

Granola you made sounds lovely @Kitchenbattle - I think you probably feel so good because you are in ketosis. I made another mistake and bought what I thought was keto granola this week, but it is paleo granola and not low carb. Maybe I can use a small amount and bulk it with something like flax.

I have just eaten my breakfast - I might add on the other half of a protein bar ftom yesterday. I had cold leftover salmon with a steam fried egg - just a bit runny and some wilted spinach with a sprinkle of sea salt on top - I have woken the kraken though and still feel hungry! I think that probably means I am not in ketosis which isnt surprising as my calories and carbs are a bit on the high sides.

I am happy with my weightloss this week - 3lbs, I might try harder to stay under 50g next week though

Weird day today, due.to granddaughters birthday party
3x scrambled eggs
Handful of olives and salad
A weird tortilla thing, definitely not keto
A baby bell

Will check wee later! To see if I've lost the ketosis

Kitchenbattle · 05/07/2026 17:39

Slow roasted pork belly, ratatouille, kale, a few olives, and eggs for breakfast.

Day 7 - halfway there! 🎉

I spent the first half of the day eating like a toddler 🤣

Breakfast- flat white with almond milk. Three sausages with a little bit of mustard.

Lunch- a Babybel, no added sugar jelly with whipped cream, and a teaspoonful of keto cookie butter spread (this stuff is delicious- plenty of calories but basically nothing else). Also had a coffee with MCT oil and some cream.

Dinner- roast chicken. Then I roasted a little sweetcorn, pancetta, spinach, and garlic together in olive oil and butter with lots of salt and pepper. Very tasty.

Me!

RustyShackIeford · 06/07/2026 09:57

Starting week two so did my “official” one week weight in.

Starting weight- X7.65kg
Current weight- X3.65kg

So an overall reduction of exactly 4kgs.

I’m very much aware that about 75% is water and the amount of fat lost is a lot less, but I’m feeling less bloated so very happy with that.

Yay! Go you @RustyShackIeford !

Today I will have eaten:
6 Brazil nuts
Some roasted chicken breast with tomatoes
Pork belly with a pile of salad leaves

Got two days with the granddaughter, so will probably just eat cheese!

Thats a great result@RustyShackIeford

@IAmTheBloodyGrandma - be careful with Brazilian nuts if you eat them everyday as apparently it’s possible to get too much selenium and can be toxic 😳

I had a pretty good week 1 and down 4lbs. Fingers crossed for week 2, although I am not off to the best start so probably won’t list today’s food!

RustyShackIeford · 07/07/2026 10:31

I’m late posting my day 8 because I was traveling yesterday, so here’s Monday’s tally.

Breakfast- coffee with cream and MCT oil.

Lunch- Greek yogurt, chia seems, flax, pumpkin seeds, keto cookie butter spread.

Dinner- sausages, eggs, rashers, mushrooms.

Snack- two keto-friendly Oreo-type biscuits.

Calories- 1,150
Protein- 53g
Fat- 86g
Carbs- 12g
Fibre- 18g

I still have an aversion to veg which is crazy because I always love vegetables.

For someone who is trying to reduce her dependency on (and habit of!) sugary snacks, I’m eating a lot of sweet alternatives but they’re really helping me through the day. I have some more keto-friendly chocolates coming today.

@RustyShackIeford can I ask where are you finding your low carb treats? If it keeps you on track when you are busy or stressed it’s totally worth it.

Mainly Amazon, @Clearingaspace. Have also used a website called iHerb.

The brands I use from Amazon are Nick’s (chocolate bars), and Neoh (chocolate bars and wafer biscuits- I’ve order their version of a Kinder Bueno so very excited about that). From iHerb, I buy a brand called ChocZero- mainly things like keto versions of spreads (similar to Nutella or Biscoff). The Oreo-type cookies I had yesterday are called Dunkies, they were from iHerb. I do find the iHerb stuff quite expensive, think a lot of it is made in the US.

To be fair, keto snacks in general are dear. I’m in Ireland and, funnily enough, find the Nick’s and Neoh bars way cheaper on the Irish amazing site than the UK one, which is unusual.

The expense is probably the main thing restricting my consumption at this stage 🤣

I started again yesterday, after a break for travelling. For now I’m just eliminating the obvious carbs (bread, pasta, potatoes, rice) and not concerning myself too much with the carb content of veg, milk etc. I find if I’m too strict with myself I go backwards.

The photo gallery for this thread is lovely! Very inspiring.

Kitchenbattle · 07/07/2026 12:44

@RustyShackIeford im also in Ireland 🙌🙌.

Clearingaspace · 07/07/2026 12:50

My parents are Irish ☘️ but we all live in London, shame they aren’t in Ireland so I could ask them to order for me 😂 I will check though as it still might be cheaper from Amazon Ireland to order to uk 🤔

welcome back @JillThePlantKiller - I am with you, sometimes being strict works for me but at the moment being more relaxed but plodding on is helping. I am too one extreme to the other normally.

Castlerigg · 07/07/2026 18:32

Well, I had a terrible weekend, carbs-wise. It was a bank holiday weekend here, so I’m including yesterday when I say weekend. So I’ve been strict today, and I don’t think I’ve eaten enough, as I’ve been headachy. I know it takes me a couple of days to adjust, so I’m hoping that I’ll feel better tomorrow, but I will try and add in a bit of fibre. I do find true keto really difficult, so maybe more of a low carb approach might suit me better, but I’ll see how I go on.
