After losing a very significant amount of weight, I’m stalling with the final 1.5st.

I know that Keto isn’t for everyone, but it works for me, albeit my downfalls are bread and sugary things so I’m going to do a two week burst of very strict keto, in the hopes that it’ll help me reset a little and find my motivation again.

Would anyone like to join me?

I currently have a fridge full of turkey burgers, Brie, and full-fat Greek yogurt.

My GP told me to try and stay under 10g of carbs per day 😱 been at it about 3 weeks, lost 9lbs. Not sure if that's good or not. Bought keto sticks, I'm in ketosis
Today I have eaten the following:

Bacon/avocado/tomato/iceberg brunch thing
Salmon/Italian salad bag from lidl/tomato thing
Coffee with double cream

No idea how many carbs that boils down to.

I will snack on Brazil nuts or hard boiled eggs if I feel peckish. But that doesn't happen often. My appetite has shrunk.

Congratulations on the 9lbs loss! That’s terrific.

Now, under 10g is tough going. I struggle to stay under 20g. Personal question but was your GP’s recommendation for medical or diet reasons?

Apparently, the new thinking is that carbs drive up cholesterol. So Despite being told for the past 40 years to lay off fat, I'm now being told to eat basically meat and eggs!

I'm very happy about this! Although I am now taking Atorvastatin.

Got a blood test on Thursday.

I know it’s very low calorie but I’m genuinely not hungry after those meals I have herbal teas mostly too throughout the day. I have an office job so not majorly active.

This is right up my street. I lost 30 pounds last year on keto and have 15 to go but fell off the wagon and went back to bad habits. Haven't put any weight on but stopped losing and would like to start again and get the last 15 off :)

I weighed myself this morning and I have finally broken into the 56’s. My weight is now 56.9kg so JUST under 9stone. I’m really hoping that this weight loss change in my diet will change some medical issues for me as well and I can stop taking some meds that I’m taking for the last three years.fingers crossed!!

I’ve done pretty well the last couple of days, cutting down the carbs gradually, but today I’ve craved sugar, and had zero energy. I had a mint earlier, and a square of dark chocolate when I got home from work, and that’s my lot. In the recent hot weather I ate a fair bit of ice cream, so I suspect I’m just adjusting to the reduced sugar in my diet, and it’ll settle down, as long as I don’t give in.

Ooh your food sounds lovely @Kitchenbattle and you are definitely hardcore! it sounds a lot like fast800 keto. It should definitely count as fasting mimicking so hopefully will help your health conditions. I did the OG fast 800 (blood sugar diet) and lost loads of weight and felt great but I made so many mistakes: I did it longer than 12 weeks which is a no no, didn’t taken any vitamins or supplements which had negative health side effects later, I also gave up strength training to do it 🙀 then after I went back to eating pre diet style so regained. Major regret!

@Castlerigg well done on cutting bank on carbs. everyone also says summer is great for weightloss but I just want ice cream, or alcohol rather than salad!

@Pancakesandbutter thats really great you kept the weight off hopefully it will soon be coming off again

Today I have been a bit carb heavy but enjoyed my food, to be honest I am still a little hungry! Think my period is overdue…

@Clearingaspace I am going to do a few more weeks and then build in certain carbs again. I have kept going with some strength training too which I really need. I take a good few supplements (for peri menopause) and vit d, magnesium etc. but I feel great eating this way. I don’t deny myself either. If I want a treat the odd time I’ll have it. On Sunday I had a mint magnum, it was bliss!!

Another not great day from me. Mix of manic day at work, travel, and just not feeling very well (nausea, tired, headachy, brain fog, very thirsty- classic “keto flu”). Not hungry, as a result.

Breakfast- 2 x flat whites with almond milk.
Lunch- leftover chicken salad from last night, some olives and cheddar cheese.
Dinner- cup of tea with almond milk, and a Neoh keto wafer bar.

Calories- 580
Protein- 33g
Fat- 38g
Carbs- 10g
Fibre- 10g

So stupidly low on everything. Get to wake up in my own bed tomorrow and access my own fridge so hoping that day four is better.

Got bloody awful indigestion today. It's been a.VERY stressful day, so I'm putting it down to that.

Smoke salmon and avocado for breakfast
Coffee with cream
Then calamari and steak for lunch (got taken out! Nice!)
Forgot to ask for the salad instead of chips, but didn't need it anyway.
Not sure if the calamari was keto, but the pee stick said I was in ketosis ayesterday, so I'm not too worried.

No idea about calories!!

@Kitchenbattle i love the egg cups they look very tempting! I am not a massive fan of cottage cheese but it’s something I want to like - defo going to try mixing with pesto. My dh eats a whole tub plain with a spoon 😳

I have scraped in at 49 g carbs, 117 protein 16.5 fibre and 1137 calories. I actually feel more full today weirdly.

half my carbs were from drinks - latte and very small merlot plus some milk in coffees as ran out of almond milk - so in theory a lot of room for improvement. But I was feeling stressed today and it could have been a lot worse

bf cheese omelette with extra egg white
lunch chicken avocado salad
dinner ginger chicken edamame stir fry
snack skyr, form protein powder mixed in plus blueberries and raspberries

Are you sure you’re getting enough calories, ? you seem to be averaging about 700/day which is tough going. Be sure to look after yourself ❤️

I was feeling rotten this morning. Definitely effects of not getting enough nutrition yesterday. Couldn’t keep anything down until lunchtime but the rest of the day went fairly ok.

Breakfast: almond milk flat white

Lunch: think this has been my favourite meal of the week. I was feeling awful and really wanted something nice so crumbled a Neoh hazelnut wafer biscuit to a bowl of Greek yogurt. Tasty, sweet, and nice texture.
Also had a Babybel.

Dinner: three chicken drumsticks tossed in salt, pepper, chili flakes, and olive oil and air fried. Then I topped two portobello mushrooms with butter, salt, pepper, and brie and air fried those too.

Now I’m about to have a cup of tea with almond milk and Stevia, and a Nick’s Crunchy Caramel sugar free keto-friendly bar.

Calories- 1,250
Protein- 93g
Fat- 81g
Carbs- 14g
Fibre- 13g

Oh, and I stood on the scales and I’m exactly 2kg down but aware that the vast majority of that is water and glycogen. Still good to see a downward move, though.

However. Bloody cottage cheese?? WTF is that stuff all about.? I have tried it soooo many ways but jeez it's utterly disgusting. Horrible stuff!

I bloody love cottage cheese! 😅 I know my calorie intake is very low. I honestly couldn’t eat much more though. I’m not extremely active. I have a desk based job, so not a lot going on.

@Fatiguedwithlife we sound very similar. I just feel so so much better without major carbs. My whole digestive system is just feeling and working better. The bloat is non existent. It’s crazy!! I think I would feel good at 53-55kg also

Wrongly or rightly, I have been using ChatGPT to help me. I will give it an idea of what I have in the fridge. I’ll tell it what I would like to eat and ask it. What amount of everything I should have to keep it to certain ratios. It’s working really well for me so far.

I will add that I did download some of the apps like MyFitnessPal and a few others, but I didn’t like having to input everything in. It’s easier to just dictate to ChatGPT.
