⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits.

Following on from ⭐️LOSE IT! Active April 2026⭐️

I blinked and missed April 🙃. Apologies for my absence; the month passed by so quickly! I’m feeling a little bit more human and absolutely doing my best to move more and eat well.

Jumping into May LOSE IT! - To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on.

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.
After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

It is really difficult @CherryogDog especially when it's your own fault that you've ended back up where you started - often heavier... I know from experience.... but I'm generally trying to be kinder to myself and focus on taking care of myself... so nourishing food, exercise to build muscle/prevent bone loss, sleep/rest, self help with regards to anxiety and invested in visits to an osteopath as I was in a lot of pain which hampered most of the exercise ambitions before it got sorted.

Good luck for the week all. @SeekingHappinesss I too am hoping that having got past my period will help the scales. I haven't been on the scales since it started but I know my eating/hunger is impacted.

See you all for WOW

biscuitcat · 10/05/2026 16:17

My period has also just finished and I’m hoping it will make a difference.

We’ve had friends over today so had our main meal at lunchtime, and so long as I avoid lots of snacking I’ll end the day within calories.

Today’s menu:

B - the other half of my youngest’s banana
L - sausages, salad, roast new potatoes, and a chocolate cookie
D - baked potato with beans and some cheese
S - strawberries

JustOneMoreMargarita · 11/05/2026 11:33

Drawing a line under the weekend and hoping for a good week this week. Youngest is doing GCSEs and there has been a little bit of stress eating / extra wine. But also plenty of steps and I did a 7K run yesterday too.

B - Greek yogurt, granola (small portion), raspberries, banana
L - Chicken salad
D - spaghetti carbonara, salad

Aiming for at least 15K steps and a weights workout tonight. As the teen says with her GCSE revision, I need to lock in. 6.5 weeks until holidays

ScarletMane · 11/05/2026 12:59

Had a few treats over the weekend, but didn't completely throw the rule books out the window, so feeling good and back to being more focused for the week ahead. Today is:
B - Smoothie
L - Omelette, salad and coleslaw
D - Tofu, rice and veg
D - Oat latte, water and black tea

biscuitcat · 11/05/2026 14:30

Checking in for today - I think I need to do daily check ins to help me keep on track! Weighed this morning and am apparently up about 1.5lbs overnight - I know very well it’s not real as I ate fine yesterday, and had a carby dinner, but it’s still annoying!

Today’s menu:

B - Greek yoghurt, strawberries, seeds, honey
L - baguette, avocado, bacon, feta
D - falafel wrap with hummus and salad, and an egg on top

LemonDrizzle23 · 11/05/2026 18:18

@biscuitcat I’m with you on the daily check ins I think! We baked cupcakes yesterday and they’re staring at me now…

Food was decent over the weekend, but a distinct lack of movement due to DS sporting stuff!

Pasta4Dinner · 11/05/2026 19:59

When I lose weight I always bounce back up again. Struggled today because it was cold and I was so busy,
I ended up having to have a snack this afternoon because I was so hungry.
Been to an exercise class though and I am tired!

Rosetime · 11/05/2026 22:47

Been absent for a few days. Feeling wiped out but trying to get back into my keeping healthy routine. I didn't really do any workouts or strength training the last few days...more like in the last week.
But I tried to ensure to get some brisk steps in every day. I also did not exceed my calories/day limit. I weigh on Sundays, i had lost 1.1 kg.

Today, calories at 1203kcal, steps at 12435. No workouts.

@Pasta4Dinner , it was cold here too. Also, grey and wet. Going to be same for the week. I will just have to do walking circuits in my house to get my steps in.

JustOneMoreMargarita · 12/05/2026 09:59

Well done on last week’s loss @Rosetime

Stuck to plan yesterday. Calories tracked, 15K steps and a short weights workout. Scales edging back down from the weekend gain.

Today’s menu

B - Greek yogurt, banana, drizzle of honey, sprinkling of granola
L - Big mixed salad, feta, chicken
D - Cod in Parma ham, potato wedges, broccoli, peas

Hoping for a few more steps today…

socks1107 · 12/05/2026 22:05

Just checking in with everyone, I am still on the sidelines and still calorie counting but I was getting so upset with maintaining if felt right to have some time away.

Since then I have lost another 3lbs and am 5lbs from goal and a 1lb from a healthy BMI. Ive done a few things like calorie cycling so I feel less restricted at weekends, changed my exercise routine and started some vitamins.

Off to read the thread and catch up with you all!

Rosetime · 12/05/2026 23:43

Thanks @JustOneMoreMargarita . Do you follow a particular weights program? I do Joe Wicks or any other program that takes my fancy but Jillian Micheals is one i gi back to over and over again.

Today calories were 1263 with 84g of protein. Steps were 15430. 45 minutes of strength training. 2.5 litres of water.
I am particularly happy with my water intake. In a few weeks, i have gone from not drinking water for weeks to regularly now drinking at least 1.5 litres of water everyday.

@socks1107 , how is the maintaining going? I hope it is going better now.

moondip · 13/05/2026 06:28

Morning ladies. I hope everyone is having a good week whether that means sticking entirely to plan or having a nice break from it!

After getting my head back in the game properly (since April was a bit of a joke…), I’m happy to be seeing some movement in the right direction again!

SW: 102.1kg
CW: 88.3kg
GW: 80kg

biscuitcat · 13/05/2026 06:51

Morning ladies!

I’m half a pound off this week - still half a pound above what my lowest was, but better than the direction it was going in, so I’ll take it. 2.5 weeks left of May and I want 1.5lbs off in that time to take me into the 11s.

SW - 15st10.5
CW - 12st1
GW - 10st4-ish (tbc as and when I finally make it down that way…)

Today’s menu is a bit up in the air which is always a danger zone - but hopefully something like this:

B - Greek yoghurt, fruit, seeds, honey
L - eggs of some description
D - something from my freezer or a jacket potato - depending on what I feel like later!

LemonDrizzle23 · 13/05/2026 07:21

Morning WOWers!

Great to see people moving in the right direction this morning!

I appear to be roughly 2lbs down over the last 2 weeks, taking me to 13 st 9.8 - 1lb away from the 2 stone mark now.

SW: 15 st 8
CW: 13 st 9.8

Happy scale also tells me that I have now lowered my BMI from 36 to 31 (just!)
12 st 12 will take me from “obese” into “overweight”. So I guess after the 2 stone mark, that had to be the next aim!

Good luck to everyone weighing.

Fellsbells · 13/05/2026 07:40

Well done everyone. Some great progress happening.

I was doing really well, until Monday and Tuesday when stress took over and food was my crutch. Onwards on downwards hopefully.
wow not great, but probably water.

Hlglu56 · 13/05/2026 08:13

I’ve lost 3lb this week.

current weight: 10st 13

goal weight: 10st

start weight: 11st 7

lost a few pounds this week but put on last week. It was that time of the month so I’m sure some of it is water weight going on and off. Feeling really positive though.

Pasta4Dinner · 13/05/2026 08:18

SW: 89kg
CW: 79.9kg
GW: around 70kg

back down to my lowest today, was hoping at least for a tiny bit more. But glad to be in the 7s again.

ScarletMane · 13/05/2026 08:42

Good morning. Happy WOW everyone.

CW - 14st 9lbs
SW - 15st 13lbs
GW - 13st

I'm so annoyed, I've gone up 1.5lbs again! I went out for a big work lunch yesterday which took me off plan. I think this has pushed me up artificially tbh. I'm going to weigh in again later on the week because I think it'll drop down..

JustOneMoreMargarita · 13/05/2026 08:44

Morning!

start weight (6th April) - 102.6kg
current weight - 99.1kg
goal weight - 80kg

Bit more downward progress with another 0.5kg off. Also been out for a 5K run but not as good as my last couple of runs so that was a bit frustrating, Weights later.

@Rosetime - I do Rebelfit which is a Facebook group based one. Has three weights and three mobility workouts a week. I admit I’m not great at the mobility though and I don’t do all the workouts, but it keeps me relatively motivated.

TheGirlWhoLived · 13/05/2026 09:29

Congrats Wow-ers

I gained 1lb from last weeks weigh, despite doing really well all week, but I’m fairly sure that’s because last week was a bit false!
SW 16st 7
CW 15st 3
GW 10st

Rosetime · 13/05/2026 09:46

@JustOneMoreMargarita , well done on your losses. Keeping motivated is key, isn't it.

Welldone, everyone, on your losses. Great job. It is not easy.

Does anyone else find losing weight tiring? I feel it takes a lot of energy - meal planning, make sure i am staying active etc. This week especially i am waking up in the mornings drained. Ready for bed at 8pm!!

ChunkyMonkey36 · 13/05/2026 11:15

1lb off this week.

I did have a few weeks of 3lbs, but that was weeks ago now so I think my initial drop has happened and it’s slowed now.

Still downward, so that’ll do for me!

ScarletMane · 13/05/2026 11:35

@Rosetime Absolutely, it's all consuming!

FridayNighFeeling · 13/05/2026 12:25

Far too much headspace @Rosetime

I'm 0.1kg off my lowest - so equates to -27lbs. Still on my period so hoping to make a bit of inroads in the next week or so. It's come down quite a bit since Monday - about 1lb.

Well done to everyone showing up regardless of what the scales say.

Rosetime · 13/05/2026 14:22

So not just me. In a way, good to know that it's kinda normal but would rather it was not so.
I want that light feeling, full of energy and vitality etc etc that people who are losing weight/have lost weight always talk about having.
