As part of me trying to form healthier habits I am trying to consistently hit 10k (or more) steps per day for the whole of February (and hopefully beyond!). I average around 8000 steps and mostly work from home sat at a desk. It's not a huge challenge and I know this is probably not even a challenge for most but wanted somewhere to be accountable and post my daily efforts.

Signing off for another day. Well done everyone given the horrendous weather we are all superstars. Fitbit awarded me a Pole to Pole badge today as I have apparently walked 12,430 miles since I registered my Fitbit.

Just missed target today 9595, so close yet so far away. Was going to walk round and round the house but I just don't have the energy tonight. Never mind tomorrow is another day.
SilenceInside - I didn't realise you could get a full sized treadmill that folds up. I will have a look at them. Thank for the info.

10kstepsaday · 13/02/2026 08:21

That's awesome @CleanandLight109!! Well done!!

Honestly @Joolly2 I'd say thats counts that, it's so close! 🤩 Please don't let it impact your motivation, you're doing so great!!

Another day on site today, I do enjoy my work days out and about compared to the sit at a desk days and definitely makes it easier to get the steps on those days!

Hope everyone else is doing well!
How's the cruising @Doyouthinktheyknow 😎☀️🍦

Good evening all. I've had a good day today and managed 13037 steps.
I'm intrigued 10kstepsaday about your work days out, are you willing to share what your job is. In my minds eye you a building surveyor marching around making sure builders are building in the right place or a hydrologist checking water quality in rivers or streams. Did I mention I have a very vivid imagination. 😄

Joining you all !

CleanandLight109 · 13/02/2026 23:51

Goodnight all. This might be the day I am proudest about this month as it was a foul day and it took all my effort at 5.32pm to go out and walk for an hour. I would never have done it were it not for this thread and not wanting to let the side down.

@CleanandLight109 fantastic work getting out for a decent walk.

@Joolly2 great total!

I was derailed by children related things and only just managed to get to the 10k mark in the nick of time. But I got there!

10kstepsaday · 14/02/2026 08:41

Oops I fell asleep before posting last night!! Screen shot attached for yesterday's total.

@Joolly2 that made me laugh! I work in health and safety looking after around 60 buildings. I work from home 3 days per week generally and site visits 2 days.

@10kstepsaday I wasn't even close 😄.
Everyone is doing really well with the steps. This thread really is making me stick to it. This morning the weather was beautiful, endless blue sky not a cloud to be seen and, a big shining sun. It obviously over did it on its first day back as by lunch time it had gone for a rest and we were back with grey clouds and the threat of more rain.
Keep up the good work everyone.

Courtesy of a day out shopping I have already hit 13.5k steps and no treadmill needed, thankfully!

CleanandLight109 · 14/02/2026 23:16

Well done all the warriors on the thread. Not sure who has managed it every day so far.
DH and I went out for a decent walk this morning before a lunch at home. The sun has shone all day for the first time in weeks. so it was both the most and the easiest steps I have done since the thread started. Goodnight all.

Agree @Joolly2 the thread is sure keeping me focused!
Maybe I should go shopping more often @SilenceInside 😏
Wow @CleanandLight109 22k!! That's amazing!

Screenshot for me below. I had to do the last minute marching to get it over the line but done it 👍🏻

Can I have a day off given yesterday's effort? 🤪 It is the most foul day here and I am still sitting in bed with my second cup of tea of the day. Even the DC (Dear Cat) got back in his basket after breakfast. Yesterday was blue skies and lovely sunshine and today....
I am currently on 112 steps 🤨 and I am so tempted to stay under the quilt but I have made a commitment to myself and the thread.
I could do an indoor You Tube led workout I suppose.....

10kstepsaday · 15/02/2026 16:06

Lol @CleanandLight109 I feel you! I have been in the car all morning taxi ing the kids around got home and it was snowing outside so have been tucked up on the sofa under a quilt in the warm all afternoon. It is 4pm and I have only done 2K!!!!!
I might have to jump on that YouTube workout you shared too 🤣

Good evening everyone, I have only managed 8,000 today. We've had torrential rain all day. When I came to finish my steps at 6.00pm my shoes and coat were soaking from this morning. I just couldn't bear to put on wet clothes and go out in the rain again. So I have accepted defeat. Never mind tomorrow's another day.
@10kstepsaday snow! 😱. Well done on the steps.
@CleanandLight109 I am going to watch that video now. Thanks for the link.

CleanandLight109 · 15/02/2026 22:29

You could finish off your steps in 15 minutes now @Joolly2 watching that video. Only if you want to do it of course.

CleanandLight109 · 15/02/2026 22:47

Right last extra five minutes walk around the house before bed done and so I am stopping for the day. 15 days over 10k which I would never have managed without this thread.

@CleanandLight109 thanks for the encouragement, I've done it. I wouldn't have done it without that little push.

Well done @Joolly2 - Leslie is a life saver on soggy days 🎉

SilenceInside · 16/02/2026 00:03

15 days of February done, irritatingly I can’t se a way of getting my iPhone to show the step count on the wheel summary. But each day is 10k plus steps as well as closing all three rings (Move, Exercise and Stand). Only 13 days to go!
