I am actually aiming to lose a stone and a half , going from 11 stone 6lbs well I weighed that before last nights Chinese to just under 10 stone.

I am hoping to do a meal replacement plan; I know not everybody gets on with them but honestly with two fussy children and a fussy husband and a busy life it just makes most sense for me as I can cook for everyone else without stressing about what I need to eat.

Anyone else?

i’m going to lose the stone I was trying to lose last year. More fibre and protein. Not snacking.

Foxyloxy89 · 01/01/2026 09:47

Me! Have just signed up to Ww. Have never done it before but I'm 43, 2 stone overweight and have tried everything else.

Libre2 · 01/01/2026 09:54

Yes I am. And now I have said it here that makes it real. Thank you OP. I daren’t step on the scales but will go and do it shortly. Last time I weighed myself I was 11 stone 8 but it will be significantly more now. I am 5 foot 7 and aged 52.

I will just generally be cutting back but also doing intermittent fasting which worked so well for me about 10 years ago.

Happy New Year everyone!

Libre2 · 01/01/2026 10:16

And I did it - I got on the scales. 11 stone 13 pounds and 6 ounces 😬 Eeeek

A lot of that will be Christmas weight so to speak … you’ll have a big loss the first week!

Me too!

weighed for the first time for months this morning and … it was not nice!

4 kg to lose or about half a stone.

im back to food diary to calorie control, its the only thing that works for me. But I’ve already had some smarties, so it’s not going THAT well!

Quoo · 01/01/2026 16:02

I started Jan 2025 at 65kg.

At Easter I was down to 60kg.

This morning I‘m 65.5kg!!!

So annoyed with myself but getting back on it today

Foxyloxy89 · 01/01/2026 21:01

I'm also cutting out booze and chocolate for January in the hopes of kickstarting some weight loss.

autumnsheretimetogetcosy · 01/01/2026 21:43

Me too. I’ve put on 17lb in the last year that needs to go this year! Going to make sure I exercise a minimum of 3 times a week and use Myfitness pal to track my calories.

happy new year all x

bugsywest · 01/01/2026 22:34

Me too. Will weigh in on Monday.

FiveShelties · 01/01/2026 23:23

I have threatened to start for the last 5 days and instead have managed to put on even more pounds!

So here I am, weighing in at 149.2 pounds and hoping to get down to 140 before the next new year. Plan is more water, much less wine and stick to 1400 a day and not per meal.

Fiftyandme · 01/01/2026 23:46

I started a couple of days ago, but today in earnest. I have 2.5 stone to lose

Exactly the same stats, starting tomorrow, good luck!

Foxyloxy89 · 02/01/2026 12:23

Would anyone like a weekly weigh in accountability type thread?

HippoHotel · 02/01/2026 17:12

Please can I join too? I need to lose half a stone which is going to be tricky as my will
power only lasts until about 11 every day!! I’m 54 and unhealthily carry all my weight round my belly but the menopause is making it so hard to shift. I’m going away in March and really want to feel better in my own skin by then. I’ve also got sagging jowls though so fixing my flabby body will no doubt make my cheeks hit my chest!

Me ! But can’t this thread be a weigh in and accountability thread ? First weigh in Monday ?

oustedbymymate · 02/01/2026 18:42

I’m starting Monday as we are away this weekend. I did weigh yesterday 11st 7. I want to be 10st really.

I would like that too! I was happy to find a group only just starting as some of the threads where people have already lost 2 stone feel a bit too intimidating (especially when I’m still eating the last mince pies whilst reading them!!)

bugsywest · 02/01/2026 18:57

Great. Horrified that I am now 13st 8lbs. Am going away at Easter and desperate to lose at least 2 stone by then. Will weigh in officially on Monday and update here and then weekly thereafter. Good luck all - we can do it.

Foxyloxy89 · 02/01/2026 22:35

Yes let's just carry on here! Should we do a Monday weigh in?

YesSirICanNameChange · 02/01/2026 23:11

Me! Glad to see this thread as I find the ones where people are already halfway to their target overwhelming.

If it makes you all feel any better, I have a looooong way to go - starting at 21st 4lbs when I weighed in yesterday. Can't go on mounjaro so calorie counting and willpower it is 🤞

BeQuirkyMintScroller · 03/01/2026 09:41

Foxyloxy89 · 01/01/2026 21:01

I'm also cutting out booze and chocolate for January in the hopes of kickstarting some weight loss.

So sensible! I am doing this, too to begin with.

remove the obvious excesses: booze, cakes, biscuits, chocolate and second helpings.

That will get it started without shocking my body.

I am determined to do slow and steady (1lb a week) and still be losing each week come October.

Usually I shed weight so fast and so easily because it's a crash (and my willpower is strong for a few months). But clearly my body doesnt adapt.

The difficulty is keeping "on it" without being obsessive. So my -1 lb per week just ticks over in the background of my life...

notnorman · 03/01/2026 10:41

Honestly- I have put on 6kg since Xmas day

HippoHotel · 05/01/2026 16:32

Hello! 🖐Are we all still up for it? I weighed myself yesterday and again today and it appears all I need to do to lose weight is stand on the scales somewhere else in the bathroom! 😂I will go with the heaviest though as it is what I was expecting based on the last week. Currently 63.7kg - would like to be 60kg. Am doing ‘Dry January’ and was planning on cutting out sugar snacks but have already failed at that twice today alone! 😬

YesSirICanNameChange · 05/01/2026 19:44

I am trying to hold out on weighing until Thursday so it'll be a week since I started. So far so good, I've cut my calories massively, making healthier choices, I just hope there's some movement on the scale so I don't get disheartened!
