2026 the final push! Anyone at the tail end of their weight loss journey and want to lose that last stone (and a bit) with me starting in January?

happysnail12 · 24/12/2025 08:30

Setting this thread up now in preparation for the New Year.

Over the last couple of years I have managed to lose 4.5 stone going from 15st 9 to 11 stone 2. My final goal is 10 stone.

I am 5"3 and I am 41. Weight loss has definitely slowed down, but I am determined to keep going and hope that 2026 will be the year I finally reach my target!

I losely follow intermittent fasting and am going to try and be more consistent with my exercise next year.

Anyone is welcome to join me 😊

I went up this week with no good reason. Think it’s new bp meds the gp put me on two weeks ago and he agreed. So I’m back off them hoping the gan goes and I’m not stuck here for months on end like I was before

happysnail12 · 18/02/2026 23:11

How frustrating @socks1107 hopefully just a temporary blip x

Bought a walking pad today. Going to attempt C25k with it.

happysnail12 · 21/02/2026 07:44

Sounds like a good plan @ErmThisOne 😊

Cave off the meds with gp agreement and my weight is coming down nicely again! Will start some new ones next week.
Hope everyone else is ok

happysnail12 · 22/02/2026 17:38

I'm glad to hear this @socks1107 and good that the GP listened was supportive.

Hope the new meds work out better for you x

@ErmThisOne Good luck with the c25k! I’m at week 8 - though with a lot of breaks - and it’s amazing how the programme works.

@socks1107 Hope the new meds are working better for you!

I’ve had a maintain at 65.3kg - at home until Wednesday morning, then away for two full weeks. Luckily more than half of the time is staying in cities this time with much healthier food choices than hotel restaurants (but also more temptations!).

Travelling I always realise how valuable it is to have calories displayed on so many menus in the UK. I often find that I’d estimate them completely wrongly, like when an apparently healthy option ends up having more calories and fish & chips or a pizza!

I will take my swimming costume as there are public pools nearby which are open until 9pm, might also do an evening session of ice skating and hoping for some low-level hiking one weekend if the weather is OK.

Good luck All for next week!

happysnail12 · 23/02/2026 14:58

Well done on maintaining @Silverblue1985 not easy when you are here, there and everywhere!

Good luck for the next couple of weeks ☺️ x

11.5.3 again!! What the bloody hell is going on?! I’m sure these scales are broken! Or me.. maybe I am broken.

happysnail12 · 25/02/2026 07:14

Oh @ErmThisOne😭 It's so disheartening and frustrating. I'm angry at the scales in your behalf! I really really hope they start moving for you soon 🙏🙏🤞🤞

Wednesday weigh-in - Basically stayed the same this week - only a tiny (0.2lb) loss.

I have stuck to plan with exercise and eating, so guess I just need to be patient.

Hope everyone is having a good week x

Weighed in again to see how it was going… 11.8.3!! What the fuck? Not due on, not had a drink, the only difference was I was up at 4 instead of 6:30. Just weighed again at 6:15 and still the same. Surely the sleep doesn’t make that much difference? I have also started weighing before bed to see how much it drops through the night and the last new nights have been 11.9.6 so again numbers aren’t numbering!

happysnail12 · 26/02/2026 07:26

What is going on?! Surely that can't be right @ErmThisOne going up 3lbs overnight! It must be water retention or something. So frustrating though 😫

OP posts:
socks1107 · 26/02/2026 07:28

I feel all these increases, I was up 3.5lbs yesterday from Sunday. From one pub meal and one pudding. Seriously? I will be lucky to make the goal I set for holiday trying to tell myself it’s ok but it’s not really. Thought about stopping where I am but I really want a healthy bmi. Aaaaahhhh

happysnail12 · 26/02/2026 11:22

100% feel the frustration. It's especially hard when you are trying everything to be "good" with no payoff.

I definitely feel less motivated when I don't see results and that has led to giving up in the past.

Determined to try and trust the process this time around.

Keeping every bit of me crossed that things start moving down for you all again. We've got this 😊 xx

I fell back to sleep and woke again at 8, good job it’s a WFH day! Weighed again and it was 11.6… I can only actually think that the weigh in was too early and I needed the extra sleep? It’s still up from yesterday but not as much.

ErmThisOne · 26/02/2026 11:33

My walking pad got delivered yesterday. Im going to aim for a training session, so 20 mins to start of mixed speeds, 3 times a week and also a 30-45 min walk at a steadier pace a few times a week too. It’s more than I do now so hopefully will make some difference somewhere.

happysnail12 · 26/02/2026 12:01

I'm glad it's dropped a bit and that you've got some extra sleep.

Good luck with the walking pad 😊

Silverblue1985 · 28/02/2026 19:56

@ErmThisOne Hole all is going well with your walking pad and that the scales have moved down again!

@socks1107 It cannot ever be weight gain from one meal :) Goid to always bear this in mind - the calories you need to put on 1lbs of fat are way higher. I have no idea of the science behind it, but it will go down again!

I have recently had a difference of 1.5kg within three days - impossible, right?

@happysnail12 I hope your patience is paying off - I know it’s difficult when things stall, but I think we just need to remind ourselves that our bodies are bloody complex things…

I have been ok-ish around maintenance the days away so far. Hard to tell without knowing the calories of food eating out.
Today was very active, ran my very first parkrun this morning and my very first 5k without walking in between! Managed just over 32 minutes, which I’m chuffed with, considering I couldn’t run a minute back in November and haven’t been regular with running sessions (none for three weeks over Christmas etc).
Then been ice skating for 90 minutes and walked another 30k steps.

Planning swimming next week after work as there is a pool not too far from the hotel which is open until 9pm. Maybe manage another park run next Saturday.

Hope everyone is having a good week next week!

happysnail12 · 28/02/2026 22:47

Wow @Silverblue1985 that's a real achievement. Well done. Hopefully all of your excerise will help keep things on track for you.

I was down to 10st 7lbs this morning, but haven't been particularly "good" today so I imagine that will go up again. Although did do a gym class, so....

But, yes trying to be patient and trust the process.

@happysnail12 well done on it moving down.

mine is the same, last 6 pounds now! It’ll take two or three months as my losses are around 0.8 to 1lb a week and I have a holiday in three weeks but I’m quite happy with how I’m starting to look so not too worried - plus I don’t want to replace my wardrobe for the 4th time!
have a great day/week

happysnail12 · 04/03/2026 11:05

Thanks @socks1107 and congratulations! You're so close now 😊

I'm similar. 7lbs to go, but don't imagine reaching that until the summer at the rate I'm losing. However, feeling much healthier and more confident so it's not the end of the world.

Slow and stready wins the race and all that!

@happysnail12 Well done!
@socks1107 Very nearly there- good luck for the final 6lbs!

Scales are stuck at 11.5.8. Really don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
