Anyone want to join me in losing a few lbs before Christmas?

Wyntiry · 30/11/2025 10:49

And please don't come here to say thats a waste of time/ just enjoy christmas and worry about it in Jan etc. That is the attitude that got me to 18 stone.

I am 9st 3lbs and feel happiest at 8st13.

Have been drawn into the wintery Xmas prep and over indulgence already so would like to get back to my goal weight before the 21st so i have some wiggle room to enjoy xmas and I'm not facing a 7lb+ loss in Jan.

If no one wants to do it I completely understand but please no negativity.

I've redownloaded nutracheck and will just calorie count (1200) and take dogs on an extra walk.

I’m in! Weighed in at 10st 5lb this morning. I’d love to get to 10 stone by Christmas but not sure how realistic that is! I’ve the week off work this week so plan to exercise everyday. I run, weight train and walk.

I’ve logged my meals on My Fitness Pal for today but as I’m treating myself to pizza tonight I’ve been for a long walk so my calories in/out are even. I normally keep to deficit but not today!

happysnail12 · 30/11/2025 11:03

I'm currently on my own thread called something like....."2 months until Christmas anyone want lose half a stone with me?"

Anyway, I'm similar to you. Weight has yo-yoed all of my adult life and Christmas is usually an excuse to over indulge.

I am currently 11st 4lbs and ideally want to reach 10 stone eventually. I have been losing slowly but steadily over the last few months and really don't want to ruin that and have to start again in Jan.

Happy to keep you company or you can join us on my other thread. I weigh in on Wednesdays 😊

GandTforRay · 30/11/2025 19:33

I’m in! Currently 12stone9. I’m 8months postpartum and I’ll like to get down to 12 stone before holiday in Jan. realistically I’d like to lose another few pounds before Xmas. Still BF and finding it hard to exercise. Meals are ok, home cooked and basic as weaning baby at the moment. Portion size is an issue and puddings/chocolate downfall.

last few weeks extra walking in the day my eldest is at school has helped, up until recently I had Achilles tendonitis which has mostly gone now. I’d love to start running again slowly but for now upping my steps each day is my goal. Last week I did approx 15kper day but this week with family commitments it’s been like 11k. We have dogs so I do walk a fair bit. I’ll weigh in again in the morning. I usually weigh most days

Wyntiry · 30/11/2025 19:45

Starting tomorrow as I had krispy kreme donut left over today and a butter croissant I had to eat 🤣

One of my main goals is water! Aiming for 2 litres.

my husband thinks I’m ridiculous but I honestly forget to drink water. When I remember or get chance to I’ll try and down a whole glass

Jasrun · 30/11/2025 19:54

Yes. I weighed in at 13.7 lbs and I just want to be healthier and lighter. I’m gonna jog before work tomorrow and not eat rubbish where I can.

Greenfinch7 · 30/11/2025 20:56

I would like to join- will weigh myself tomorrow and think I am about 9 atone 8 or 9 and would like to be 9stone. I snack constantly when I am at home (most of the time) and don't exercise. I would like to cut down on putting bites of things in my mouth all the time without even noticing, just makes me feel always slightly sluggish and never really hungry. I am not clinically overweight, but I don't feel well, and I know that more movement, more water, and less snacks would make me feel much happier and more energetic (as well as look better).

This is me. I feel like I can't go in the kitchen without having a biscuit or something from the fridge. Putting dome toast on etc.

I really need to work on having meals and no snacking.

I'm eating pretzels right now, and I am not even a little bit hungry. I know that if I change this habit, I will feel completely different, rather than borderline depressed- it really affects me.

Gosh yes, Sometimes I actually feel physically uncomfortable/sick and carry on eating. Its purely psychological and I hate that I do it. It makes me feel shit in every way, so why do I do it? Its not like I even enjoy the food, its such an automated thing.

Greenfinch7 · 30/11/2025 22:18

In my case it is just boredom, I think, and habit. Every time I come into the kitchen I eat something. So dumb.

Redcase · 30/11/2025 22:24

I’ll join. I’ve got my meals planned for the week already. I want to lose a stone so a couple of pounds off is a step in the right direction.
I have a review at the gym tomorrow which is not going to go well but I’m going anyway!
My meals are almost all homemade and healthy. Snacks are my downfall. I’ve stopped buying them for home but is the biscuits/ cake in the staff room that I am hopelessly crap at resisting.
good luck all

Sighthoundsforever · 30/11/2025 23:09

I’m in too. Currently 10.5 would love to get to 10.1. Don’t want to wait till new year to start. Have lost 4lbs in the past 4 wweeks. Delighted with that .

Mum5net · 30/11/2025 23:22

I’m in. Every little helps as they say. Looking to lose 2kg. I’m moving house in January so that will raise stress levels and I’ll either eat less or run for chocolate…

Mum5net · 01/12/2025 07:05

Weighed in at 62.7kg. So 9st 12. Let me hear how good you have been and what you turn down so I can try to do the same.

toomuchchocolate1 · 01/12/2025 07:33

I would like to join too please, my plan is no chocolate, biscuits, basically no sugar or crisps. I am around 57 kg, happiest at around 54kg. I am mostly looking to debloat as was eating too much crap since September. I have just had 2 eggs and egg whites scrambled for breakfast. Eggs are the only food that satisfies me and i am not hungry tor a few hours.

Nightbound · 01/12/2025 08:16

I'm in. 9 stone today. 8.10 by Christmas (hopefully).
Must keep off the office chocolates!

SwordToFlamethrower · 01/12/2025 08:35

Not for Christmas but for my trip to the canaries 11th December. I started at 11st 8lbs now down to 11st 3lbs by vastly reducing my carb intake, massively increasing protein and no eating after about 8.30pm.

I'm working on healing a knee injury caused by weakened hips due to birth injury, so I'm doing pilates and swimming to strengthen. Looking to start weight training once I have the all clear from my physio.

Octopus45 · 01/12/2025 09:14

Yes count me in. I did IF last year and lost 12 pounds, taking me to 8st10. I was 9st4.75 yesterday morning,so a good few pounds would be great. Have gained weight through comfort eating and just loving food in general. Aiming to do IF strictly, going 18 hours ish with some OMAD days. I’m no good at telling myself I’m not allowed certain things, work I. Supermarkets merchandising so constantly tempted by everything. Think it might be quite liberating not to be obsessing about food for most of the day. Planning to post every day and weigh every day for accountability. I was on a weight loss thread 5 years ago and found this really helped. I’m also doing a 10 minute weight loss hypnosis on YouTube every day. Will weigh in tomorrow. Good luck everyone

Auntmaud45 · 01/12/2025 11:38

I've tried everything to lose weight but I'm now 90kg and so fed up I'm not really a snacker and I've even used injections but after having them I got bad indigestion and I can't run as I have a bad back and my ankle not great after breaking and dislocation I really need help

Octopus45 · 02/12/2025 07:37

I fasted till 3pm yesterday, not too difficult cause I'm out and about working. I then had a Twix, two crackers when I got home and some Gammon with roast potatoes, yorkshires and veg. Not slimming food as such, but much less in a day than I normally eat. Didn't finish dinner till 8.15 though. Weighed 9st3.75 this morning, so its going the right way. I know the weight loss isn't going to be linear, but will be delighted if I'm under 9st by Christmas.

Octopus45 · 03/12/2025 07:19

9st2.5 this morning. Know it’s water weight loss, but still pleased. I normally only lose a pound a week. Fasted till 3 yesterday. Had some flatbreads with cheese slices, then pasta and a yoghurt for dinner

GandTforRay · 03/12/2025 08:31

I’m down a bit this morning to 12st8. I’ve really limited snacking through mostly just being busy and not having much in the house. Lots of walking yday and much more water than I usually drink. So moving in the right direction. 3 weeks till Xmas eve. Id like to get down to 12st5/6 by then before having a break over Xmas. Goal this week is to do a small jog, haven’t been since having my daughter and I’ve had an ankle injury but I should be good to start again now. Just haven’t had time yet, or made the time!

SwordToFlamethrower · 03/12/2025 08:56

I've put on a lb seemingly from a night out drinking bacatdi and coke and can't shift it despite not going off track at all. No carbs have passed my lips at all. Sigh.
