Anyone want to join me in losing a few lbs before Christmas?

Wyntiry · 30/11/2025 10:49

And please don't come here to say thats a waste of time/ just enjoy christmas and worry about it in Jan etc. That is the attitude that got me to 18 stone.

I am 9st 3lbs and feel happiest at 8st13.

Have been drawn into the wintery Xmas prep and over indulgence already so would like to get back to my goal weight before the 21st so i have some wiggle room to enjoy xmas and I'm not facing a 7lb+ loss in Jan.

If no one wants to do it I completely understand but please no negativity.

I've redownloaded nutracheck and will just calorie count (1200) and take dogs on an extra walk.

9st2.75 this morning, up slightly from yesterday, but it’s going the right way. Busy work days are helping. I have a night out drinking cocktails on Sunday that will be a challenge

Octopus45 · 05/12/2025 07:56

Same weight this morning. I only made it until 1.45 without eating yesterday and snacked on crisps and nuts. Was at home yesterday afternoon, good for the money diet but not the good diet. Got the dentist this morning which is a good appetite killer

Octopus45 · 06/12/2025 07:38

9st3, probably didn’t drink enough water yesterday. Onwards and downwards

GandTforRay · 06/12/2025 10:59

Skipped the scales this morning as was up with baby a lot and didn’t eat great yday. Day of present wrapping while toddler n Dad are out the house. Trying not to touch the Xmas chocs

Komododragonchocolatecoin · 06/12/2025 22:14

Me I need help. I'm 12.12 5"6. Heaviest I've been since I was 20 (I was post partum and had very bad mental health - I lost the weight but it's been creeping on - am now late 30s)

I feel fit and healthy, exercise regularly and can easily run 5-10K after years of running, do yoga, weights when I remember, but it's the food I struggle with, I've always had a huge appetite and love sweet foods.

Saw a pic of myself today and was actually shocked. Time to lock in, I'd love to shed half a stone before Christmas. Being a SEND parent and working full time it's not like I go anywhere exciting to have an excuse anyways.

Let's do it together x

molifly · 06/12/2025 22:17

Ah I have found my people! Currently 9 stone 5 and would love to be 8 stone 13! I've done 8 exercise classes this week but nothing seems to be shifting

Octopus45 · 07/12/2025 08:35

@moliflyyour goal is similar to mine. Think it’s harder when it’s a few pounds. Was 9st1.75 this morning. It will probably plateau again for a few days

Octopus45 · 08/12/2025 06:50

No weigh in today, went out to Wetherspoons for a burger and a couple of drinks last night, so planning on a good day today and will weigh tomorrow

Mum5net · 08/12/2025 07:18

I’m the same today as last Monday but during the week I fluctuated by an extra 1kg so I’ve recovered. Hopefully on the way down with some of you. Effort doesn’t always show immediately. Going to try on my Xmas outfit today and that might motivate me further if my trousers are lumpy.

GandTforRay · 09/12/2025 06:57

I’m back at 12st8 after a little spike up after the weekend. Tues-Friday are good days for me for movement as I’m still on mat leave I’ll get out with the little one and dogs a lot and can control my food a bit better without DH and 3 year old. Hoping to shift a little more before end of week, until more festivities begin. This time of year is hard. I managed a short jog/walk yesterday. Really need to get back into it again but taking it steady

Octopus45 · 09/12/2025 07:55

9st2 this morning. I’m a bit under the weather atm so just want carbs. Stopped eating quite early last night and went to bed v early. Going to be hard to make it to this afternoon but will manage

ThatsCute · 09/12/2025 08:05

According to MyFitnessPal, I had 1756 calories yesterday. I did 30 minutes of yoga, then went to bed early because I was so hangry.

Octopus45 · 10/12/2025 08:03

Still 9st2

ThatsCute · 10/12/2025 10:33

Had 1765 calories yesterday and did 20 minutes of Ballet Barre. Still hungry and cranky, and hating peri menopause. Down 0.25 pounds from last week.

Octopus45 · 10/12/2025 13:37

Peri and full blown menopause suck. Have been cranky and hungry here too. I’m finding that I still need to eat quite stodgy stuff to feel ok @ThatsCuteany loss is a win. I lose very slowly. Think sometimes it’s harder when you’re just trying to lose a few pounds

Auntmaud45 · 11/12/2025 06:10

I forgot about this and have a few spare tyres around my middle
Now have Covid so while I cant taste or smell anything I am still eating rubbish
Not good

Octopus45 · 11/12/2025 08:16

@Auntmaud45bless you. Hope you feel better soon. 9st2.25 this morning. I’m probably eating a bit too much, but tbh cannot manage on less. I’m pretty active with my job and need a reasonable amount of energy. Nevertheless, hoping for a loss in the next couple of days

ThatsCute · 11/12/2025 09:30

I did a 20 minute brisk walk and a 10 minute Peloton upper body weightlifting class. After a decent day, I had a snaccident in the evening. 🤦‍♀️

@Auntmaud45 lol—you can’t taste it, but the texture of unhealthy food is really good. I get it.

GandTforRay · 11/12/2025 10:45

Walked over 20k steps yday but the scales not shifting. Maybe takes a day or two to move the scales. Food could be much better tbf. 2 weeks till Xmas realistically a couple of pounds is doable but my progress is slow this time around post partum.

Mum5net · 11/12/2025 10:53

I hate to be the bearer of bad news @GandTforRay I have consistently averaged 19k steps a day across the whole of 2025 but I think it doesn't actually help me shift the weight. It helps with my well being and mood. It helps me get Vitamin D by being outside more and it keeps me away from snacks in the kitchen, but because I've done it, I then over compensate on the eating ... You sound like you are doing well though and juggling a lot more than me.

Greenfinch7 · 11/12/2025 12:39

I am one pound down at 9 st 4- have been avoiding snacks until the evening, and then I always eat something extra I really don't need or want. Over all I am doing better with the mindless eating- so thank you to this thread!

GandTforRay · 11/12/2025 16:30

Having high step amount did help me lose the weight with my son as it was mostly trudging with a pram as well but I do get that it doesn’t necessarily equal weight loss. It’s more food. At least I don’t snack when I’m walking. Off out for a pizza treat with my son tonight as he needs a bit of one on one time. Only had soup for lunch and porridge for breakfast and fruit only for snacks so I’m not feeling too bad about it

Octopus45 · 12/12/2025 08:18

@GandTforRayI agree a high step count can help and it can also help keep weight off. 9st1.5 this morning. Would be delighted to see an 8 on the scales before Christmas Day, but it’s a tall order

Welikebeingcosy · 12/12/2025 23:17

hey! jumping on please. joined a gym last week which has a kids club, so after years of being sedentary since being a single mum to my dd, i can now regularly work out. i only actually got to start working out yesterday due to getting into the routine and then becoming ill for a few days, but i do feel better already for it,just being in that routine of going there a few times a week really helps. i've weighed myself today and i'm 87.3kg. my height is 5ft 5.5. my goal is to drop two dress sizes by the spring. i feel lighter than last week but i did have a really heavy period over the weekend. i also need to remember to drink more water and also eat more regular meals. i'm working on regulating my nervous system better so i can remember to eat and slow down to actually think about what i'm eating!

Octopus45 · 13/12/2025 07:48

@Welikebeingcosywell done on going to the gym. Was 9st1.75 this morning, didn’t do very well with food yesterday, it’s getting harder in the run up to Christmas.
