Anyone want to join me in losing a few lbs before Christmas?

And please don't come here to say thats a waste of time/ just enjoy christmas and worry about it in Jan etc. That is the attitude that got me to 18 stone.

I am 9st 3lbs and feel happiest at 8st13.

Have been drawn into the wintery Xmas prep and over indulgence already so would like to get back to my goal weight before the 21st so i have some wiggle room to enjoy xmas and I'm not facing a 7lb+ loss in Jan.

If no one wants to do it I completely understand but please no negativity.

I've redownloaded nutracheck and will just calorie count (1200) and take dogs on an extra walk.

@Welikebeingcosywell done on going to the gym. Was 9st1.75 this morning, didn’t do very well with food yesterday, it’s getting harder in the run up to Christmas.

oh yes definitely, my local co-op have added their party food and i have to walk past that fridge every time i go to get healthy fruit and veg.

Octopus45 · 16/12/2025 07:46

9st2 this morning. Had a meal out on Sunday night and didn’t drink enough water yesterday

GandTforRay · 17/12/2025 08:09

Today down to 12st7. It’s taken me 6 weeks to lose half a stone. I know I can do much better better now I’ve got a little momentum. Xmas week next week. My aim is to lose another pound before Xmas, then I have 3 weeks till holiday. I’d love to be close to 12 stone again by then and be much fitter. Went for a run again yesterday for about 30mins with the pushchair, so slowly building up with that too x

GandTforRay · 17/12/2025 08:09

As always I need to drink more water!

Octopus45 · 17/12/2025 08:18

@GandTforRayhalf a stone is amazing, well done you and massive well done going for a run. The must I manage us a 10 minute work out on YouTube, currently doing Burpee Girl workouts. Was 9st1. 25 this morning. Didn’t have a good food day yesterday, so I suspect it will go up again tomorrow.

Mum5net · 17/12/2025 11:57

@GandTforRay that's just top news! Be very proud of yourself considering all the 'noise' around. I need to try harder here. Moving house and dealing with stuff is making me snack. After 2 hrs dealing with Virgin media on Whats Aapp while supposed to be wfh I had to eat some Quality Street to combat the stress.

ThatsCute · 18/12/2025 04:27

I’ve been in Paris all week for a work trip that I couldn’t get out of, so needless to say, nothing has been going to plan food-wise. 😬

Octopus45 · 18/12/2025 07:34

Up half a pound today.

GandTforRay · 18/12/2025 08:07

I’m exactly the same as yesterday so pleased with that so far this week. Having a whirlwind of a few days with the kids feels non stop at the moment keeping me busy anyway

Octopus45 · 19/12/2025 07:43

9st2 this morning. Up 1.5 pounds from my lowest. Out today and tomorrow. It’s getting harder. Will keep going

Octopus45 · 21/12/2025 08:51

I was out on Front day night and out yesterday. Not a hugely excessive amount of food and drink and have still been moving a lot, but another quarter of a pound up

Mum5net · 21/12/2025 09:23

Octopus we are an identical weight to the last ounce. Being busy and smiling with family is what I’m
going to settle for and then I’m going to stay on this thread through January to Spring and tackle my extra pounds head on.

Mum5net · 21/12/2025 09:34

Actually @Octopus45 i take that all back. I’ve just tried on my red velvet wide leg trousers and I can sit down in them. But a kilo less would let me put my hands in my pockets. I’m fasting until Wednesday now.

Octopus45 · 21/12/2025 12:25

@Mum5netI agree family fun first. It would be great to keep this thread going next year

GandTforRay · 23/12/2025 09:55

Hey guys been a bit quiet we’ve had some issues at home with no internet and now no heating/water. Anyways back online and am still hovering just over 12st7 and a quarter. Hoping to come back down a pound before Xmas with just a couple of quieter days now. I’d like to carry this on after Xmas as well as a count down to my holiday at end of Jan.

Mum5net · 01/01/2026 10:24

Happy New Year to all still in this with @Wyntiryand her accomplices.
I failed the first mission but I’m going to nail the next …
Kicking off January with 63.4 kg rather than the 60.0 kg I was aiming for. Moving house from one part of the UK to another, 8 hrs away, at the end of this month (hopefully). That could impact me either way … so this thread could run and run …

ThatsCute · 01/01/2026 12:51

Been avoiding the scales, but sticking to a rigorous exercise regime to mitigate the damage. Will re-assess once I’ve been back on the scales after the weekend.

Octopus45 · 01/01/2026 14:53

Hi, I’ve put back on what I lost before Christmas. I’ve just subscribed to the Hypnozia app cause I need to change my eating behaviour. Happy New Year to everyone

GandTforRay · 02/01/2026 11:19

Same here @Octopus45hoping it’s a very high spike after a heavy new year. Will weigh in again tomorrow after attempting to remove myself from the Xmas food and drink a lot of water. First day on my own with the kids too today so I’ll be kept busy.

Mum5net · 11/01/2026 10:34

I am still the same but I feel im
about to break through and start losing. My food mindset is changing 😂

GandTforRay · 16/01/2026 11:04

I’m just back to 12stone6 which I was just before Xmas. Took a while to get back over the Xmas and new year indulgences. Bad weather means not as much walking or running. I’m off to Lanzarote on Sunday so likely to over indulge while I’m there but much more opportunity for exercising and sunshine. Bought some new jeans today which are fitting nicely and treating myself to pedicure so feeling much better.

Mum5net · 17/01/2026 12:01

@GandTforRay Have fun in the sun. We will crack this as a group. With potentially two weeks before I move my eating and snacking set up is interrupted which I can only see as a positive
