Went to see pulp last night, great night but oh boy it was hot and late. I didn’t sleep well and I was up at 5.30. It’s been a long hot day and I’m glad it’s the weekend. My food has been ok the last few days but we are going out for a meal and drinks tomorrow. The heat makes me very bloated and I haven’t run at all this week so all in all, I’m guessing the scales will not be kind to me on Monday 😜

Hi all. I failed miserably yesterday. I had a ready meal lasagne early evening which was offered to me, then a large portion of curry and chips which was offered also.

I thought I'd finally managed to learn to resist and say no a few days ago. I did have terrible digestion afterwards though, so hopefully this will finally teach me.

ianluis152 · 23/06/2025 01:17

Cool, I hope you continue your diet, I started mine a week ago along with a food supplement product to accelerate weight loss.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 23/06/2025 06:58

Good morning all, I’ve not posted much recently. It’s been such a busy few weeks. We’ve had a few social things with alcohol and yesterday I was definitely feeling the ‘hangxiety’, I ended up just having a really quiet afternoon and catnapping on the sofa but I think I really needed it, I still slept last night and hopefully will feel better today. It’s my non working day today so I’m going to walk ds to school then take the dog for a nice long walk. I have my acupuncture this evening. I need to do some housework / dog hair removal and some food shopping.

foodwise, I’m going to continue with my fibre/protein shake each morning. It really does seem to curb my appetite. This week I’m going to add a second scoop of fibre.
I’ve been doing a little 15min strength hiit workout every few days, nothing specific just set a timer and do a series of exercises with dumbbells, so I’ll continue with that. Plus try and get a couple of runs in now the weather is cooler.

have a good week all

@ianluis152 good luck with the food suppliments. They didn't seem to do anything for me.
@thenewaveragebear1983 You are getting me tempted with the shakes. I'm often travelling from early morning until afternoon so sounds ideal for me.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 23/06/2025 09:39

@TalkToTheHand123 try it! I just use a shop bought protein shake powder and add fibre powder and chia seeds, and then blend it in my nutri-bullet with frozen berries.

I lost 1lb this week and I ate and drank weds on my anniversary, went out Thursday, drank Friday, and went out Saturday- not that I’m advocating that boozy lifestyle!- but basically my diet was shit last week and the only different was the Shake 🤔 🤷‍♀️

TalkToTheHand123 · 25/06/2025 00:26

Hi all. I bought some protein powder. Hopefully will help!

TalkToTheHand123 · 25/06/2025 16:27

Having a different kind of drink at the moment. Snuck off work early 😊

thenewaveragebear1983 · 28/06/2025 08:00

Good morning, how has everyone’s week been going? I have been very busy, and really feeling a lot of anxiety and overwhelmed- it’s not been nice. I’ve not been too bad on my food though, and it’s been too hot to run so I’ve not been forcing that, done a couple of strength workouts etc.

i’m feeling a lot better now. I have also made a bold decision, and have signed up to an online coach/fitness trainer. I have followed her on various platforms for a while, and I started looking into her programme a while ago, but I’ve decided to try it. It’s nothing new- calorie counting, protein goals, straight talking advice etc, she also does a daily workout and a weekly group call etc. I’m not sure what I expect from it but I have decided to try it. I am consistently yo-yo ing around, my weight is gradually creeping down, but I’m tired of the endless stop start and not getting the results I want.

I am 11.1.6 today, 155.6lbs which means in June I have gone from this weight, up to around 11.6, dropped a few, gained a few…. Ending on a maintain 🤦‍♀️ but it’s a maintain I guess 🤷‍♀️

back to today- I am going to go for a run before it gets too hot. Dh walked the dog. I want to spend a few hours in the garden, giving it a good tidy up and cut back. I have been growing a little allotment/veg plot this year, it gives me such unexpected joy as I hate gardening, but I am going to make a little herb garden out of a pallet with ds that we saw on a tv show and have decided to copy. Food today will be my high fibre protein shake, a light salad lunch, and we are having a bbq this evening with burgers and blue cheese 😋

Hi all. I've started on the protein shakes and tried using different ingredients. Only 2 days so far but seems to help. With water only doesn't taste very nice, but as long as I know it will help me lose weight I don't mind. I'd need a few cows in the garden to do milk only ones.

Focusing on my digestion seems to help also, ie. Trying to get more sleep and avoiding takeaway food or ready meals. I've started eating buscuits again which I most likely need to stop.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 28/06/2025 09:17

@TalkToTheHand123i find they need to be really cold as well, I buy the bags of frozen berries and add a handful which helps with palatability. Or I chop up any tired looking fruit and store in the freezer and add a few pieces of that. I’ve been adding a fibre powder supplement to mine as well, it’s completely tasteless but it really seems to help keep me full and I’ve been getting my fibre up to 30g a day most days this week.

OP posts:
triplecheeese · 28/06/2025 12:14

I'm also joining you both in fibre shake town! I've gone for low sugar vanilla protein powder and the same fibre powder as you. Starting with 0% Greek yoghurt, frozen berries and a tbsp of flaxseed. My bowel is going to love it 🤣

it's nicer with oat milk @TalkToTheHand123 I can't drink them with water only, too miserable.

I'm with you @thenewaveragebear1983 I've been completely overwhelmed with so much going on with life, kids, family, work is crazy. It doesn't help that everyone around me seems to be is magically disappearing due to weight loss injections!

Barely exercised in two weeks due to a horrible cold, heatwave and period pain! In good news I had a little mini break with DH - wine, food, walking & talking - and it was great. I remembered that it's fine for food to be a pleasure sometimes, but it shouldn't be a crutch. For me, the day to day emotional eating actually make the fun celebratory eating times less special.

Back on it today with a run before it got too hot, muggy out there though. I'm going to attempt an early morning trail 10km tomorrow before the heat kicks in then not bother til Weds cos it will be roasting here (Kent)

going into July around 68kg, a maintain from May, which is better than expected. (TW 64kg). I have two big trail HMs at the end of July so don't really expect to lose much but would like to see 67kg!

TalkToTheHand123 · 28/06/2025 12:42

Ah will try it with oatmilk @triplecheeese . I can't take it at all as was in a rush this morning and forgot to get it from the fridge. I had to go to Iceland although chose healthy options rather than the usual ready meals and have already declined a macaroni cheese ready meal and a mars bar.

I try tell myself people are trying to make me fail my weightloss plan as extra motivation. I have a little success with this.

ToutesetBonne · 28/06/2025 13:44

Just popping in to say goodbye, and to thank you for the helpful posts while I've been part of this thread.

I'm afraid I find it too difficult to cope (this is on me, no-one else!).... too difficult to cope with reading about people who are a perfectly normal weight trying to lose lbs for no obviously good reason. Clearly, everyone has different body shapes, heights and expectations, but some of it is so unhealthy that it really upsets me.

I wish you all very well.

TalkToTheHand123 · 28/06/2025 20:31

Aww all the best @ToutesetBonne .

I won't be one of these people anytime soon after having a burger and chips at the fairground then a cheesy pasta ready meal when I got back to the office.

poorpaws · 28/06/2025 20:49

Hi everyone

im back. After a terribly painful time and a huge weight gain (very nearly at an all time high) I have spent this week doing my very best so that when I weigh in on Monday I’ll have at least lost something. Its all been very good until tonight when I got the Saturday night “sod it”. I’m posting this now so that the eating doesn’t get out of all proportion.

@ToutesetBonneaww I’m sorry you feel the need to leave us. I have 2 stones to lose so I know I’m not someone you are referring to. If you ever feel you can come back please do and I wish you great success both in your life and with any diet.

to the very few of us left here I just wanted to say hi, I hope you’re all ok and from Mondays weighin I’ll be properly back.

TalkToTheHand123 · 28/06/2025 22:40

I'm in quite a bit of pain on my left side. I thought it would be a good idea going on a fast mini circular rollercoaster. No intense exercise for me for a few days (not that I would be doing any anyways).

Now that I have the protein powder, fingers crossed next week can be a decent one for weightloss.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 28/06/2025 23:02

@ToutesetBonnei’m sorry you feel like that, I am
not aware of anyone one this thread who isn’t genuinely trying to lose weight, sure we’re all different sizes but I know I’m overweight bmi and would be healthier if I lost a few pounds.

@poorpawsI’m sorry you’re having a bad time, we have all missed you and will be here with you - great to have you back

we ended up having a family bbq tonight, it was so so nice, the last few weeks have been quite stressful and I needed to just be with my people. It’s been so hot today it’s like being abroad, I have really enjoyed it.

Bbqs as in burgers and sausages @thenewaveragebear1983 ? My focus at the moment is to try keep away from burgers and sausages, although to be fair in moderation I should be ok. I believe I've cut down quite a bit on this sort of food.

@poorpaws For me, at the start I would have said anyone under 10 stone saying they want to lose weight was rediculous, but when I was weighing items to find out how much weight 1 lbs was a few months ago, I realised it was a lot more weight than I though, so anyone losing just 1 lbs was quite fair (still quite depressing for me being around 14-15 stone).

I'm not too obsessed with numbers currently, just focussing on trying to deal with food addiction and making wiser choices / habits.

TalkToTheHand123 · 29/06/2025 08:36

Good morning all. Just had the most delicious breakfast of carrot and swede mash (sarcasm), but quite filling and a decent option so large batch added to next shopping list.

poorpaws · 29/06/2025 09:09

😱 I’ve just finished a long post and it’s disappeared AGAIN. I haven’t got time to do it all over again, but I’ll be back

thenewaveragebear1983 · 29/06/2025 15:02

Oh no @poorpaws, how frustrating!

@TalkToTheHand123yes it was burgers and sausages, although I did make some nice salads. But there was wine as well which probably cancels out the salad 🤣

I’m starting my online coaching tomorrow, to be honest it is nothing I’ve not done before in terms of diet, so I am determined to get what I’m paying for in terms of using the resources they provide, they do an online workout every day and a weekly accountability call, plus a Facebook group and podcast. So lots of things to use.

Good morning all.

I’m having to do this on my phone because my iPad screen is totally frozen on Mumsnet. Yesterday, when I used my phone, my post disappeared so I’m going to make this short.

I lost .75 of a pound this week which I realise is very little but considering I went out for two meals where both menus were calorific and not a salad in sight, I’ll take it.

I hope you are all okay and I will be back when my iPad allows. It’s so frustrating and I’m not going to make this long in case I lose it.

Have a great day everyone.

poorpaws · 30/06/2025 08:04

Ive freed my iPad at last and it seems if I write short posts they send but if I do a longer post they are deleted. The plan in future is to do short post and probably quite a few of them so bear with me everyone.

I hope you are all okay and I’m sorry for this technical crap I have to go through. Good luck to anyone weighing in today.
