Morning all,

Hello to new peeps.

I am really struggling at the moment. I've had 3 bad bad days, and I'm talking binge level bad.

Really scared as I've been here so many times before but I've had a heavy AF (sorry if TMI) and been craving sweet stuff.

I also gave blood yesterday and was 'forced' to have a sweet cup of tea and not one but two little packs of biscuits.

For three days I've been endlessly picking. I'm driving myself up the wall!!

I'm in work today with my fruit etc.

HELP me to stay on track girls!!!!

SWlurker · 19/06/2008 11:49

Hello. Have had a week completely off plan. I really don't know why I self-sabotage so much - I needed 2lbs last week to get my 1/2 stone, its like as soon as I get a mini target in focus I lose the plot completely and pig out on all the wrong stuff. Not impressed with myself.

Had an email from my consultant saying 1) she missed me this week and 2) how dedicated I must be to SW because I sent her over a lot of recipes! hardly dedicated at the moment! REALLY REALLY want to be back on plan now. I have not wanted to stop eating today - so far had a hifi, a bowl of cereal and a cheese salad, and can't wait to get gorging on LOTS of (free) food at lunch time. Its like my appetite is insatiable at the moment, too bad the last week its been insatiable in the way of Chocolate, cheese, pies and so many more syns I am Sooo not telling you all about!

oh S*d it, I am going to have to use my overdraft to buy enough free food to get me through to pay day - at least its only 6 days to go!

sticktoit · 19/06/2008 12:08

Lurker - Glad I'm not the only one!!

Feel like I've totally let myself down. Have a food/booze filled weekend too!! Must have a good day today then!

SWlurker · 19/06/2008 12:27

I could keel over with shock. Just double checked the syns on tesco chilled carrot and swede mash, and colcannon that I've happyly luncked on last week thinking it would be good. 12 1/2 syns each!!!!!!!!

Oh well, glad I checked before buying some more today. Come on Stick to it, let's pull ourselves together!!

PeckaRolloverAgain · 19/06/2008 14:07

are any of you on facebook? i have joined the slimming world group on there and there are some amazing before and after photos in the gallery and some good posts on the discussions - has kept me on the straight and narrow today!!

after last weeks disappointing loss I am 4lb down this week so thats 6lb in 3 weeks.

sticktoit · 19/06/2008 14:09

I'm on facebook - will look it up now!

sticktoit · 19/06/2008 14:19

Well done Pecka on the 4lbs BTW!!

I've joined the group. Could be a good motivational tool!!

Tommy · 19/06/2008 18:13

well done pecka!
SWlurker, something I've discovered with slimming world is that it's practically impossible to buy a ready meal which is low enough in syns to warrant it - espevially on green days.

I am really hungry at the moment
I think it may be because DS3 has decided that he does't really want to give up the Mummy milk just yet so I am back to feeding him 2 or 3 times a day. I suppose I could go back to having another HE but I'm doing so well at the moment (18lbs in 7 weeks ) that I don't want to slow the prgress down but then, if I'm hingry because he's feeding, then I need the calories don't I?

Franniban · 19/06/2008 20:41

Hi, Yes typo!!!! Well done Pecka. I'm tucking into 2nd large glass of red, after a 12 hour day, trying to be really good so that I can have a bit more at the weekend, as dd 3rd birthday on Sat.

Got to keep on track.

Furball · 20/06/2008 06:49

1 lb on this week [grr] Feel I haven't done much to deserve that although portions of things have crept up so it's a knee in the nuts to get me back on track. I'm away for the next weigh in so have 2 weeks to recover it.

SWlurker · 20/06/2008 09:01

Had an ok ish day yesterday - 16 syns. On a date tonight and he's driving, so the wine syns might creep in no, wait, I can do gin & slim for less. I can definately stick to 4 of them. goody!

Tommy - you're right about ready meals. I just thought the flipping think was only loads of veg and a bit of milk, maybe some butter but on closer inspection it was cream

Could you fill yourself up on free food? You could always get extra fibre and calcium from free foods (wholegrain pasta, rice and potatoes with skin on etc, or yoghurts and cottage cheese, fromage frais etc).

I am posting as a reminder to myself that I need to stop being a pig as a bad few days is turning into a bad week

Anyways I am out tonight so I am writing off today as it's DP's bday and we've not been out on our own for ages so I want to enjoy it.

So need to get back on track tomorrow or I can kiss my half stone loss goodbye and say hello to a stone on . Won't let it happen!!!!!!

sticktoit · 20/06/2008 10:55

Hey if anyone wants to say hi on facebook, I am probably the only Capener on the SW group !!

Tommy · 20/06/2008 11:39

thanks girls

I think I was just surprised that I was so hungry! I have a few free things ready to go in the fridge so I'll try and munch my way through those today.

I went to Facebook but there are loads of SW groups! Which one are you on sticktoit?

sticktoit · 20/06/2008 11:51

I joined the group that is just called Slimming World and has 1899 members.......

SWVirgin · 21/06/2008 16:18

Hi guys, as you can tell I'm new to slimming world. I have had my first meeting/WI and waiting for the next on Monday. I have to say I've been really good this week except for one dinner time when I wanted to quit, because I was a little under prepared. My mum is doing it with me and looks to me for the knowledge about what we can eat. She was famished that day because I was out at work and she didn't know what to eat and then when I got in she was ready to eat a horse and lets say things got a little tense. I suppose these events are sent to test us in the first few weeks.
We have been very good at meal planning so far, especially with the help of the SW magazine. I would recommend the herb crusted salmon with chips. (July issue p.54)
I am on here to ask about meal ideas for camping trips. I have two coming up within the next two months and I am determined to not let my old eating habbits creap back in. Can anyone suggest meals that would be easy to cook out in the wilds of a camp site and to feed a hungry hungry family.

BouncingTurtle · 21/06/2008 16:47

Have been off the plan so have been really crap!!
Will start again on Monday (when my Mum has gone home!)

Babyjjbaby - would you email me on sonia . bailey @gmail.com, I want to ask you something but rather do it off line, if that is OK? Don't worry it's nothing bad!!!

sticktoit · 22/06/2008 09:49

Good morning all!

Well seemed to have got my determination back and yesterday had a good day. Starting today off well today.

I'm not going to group tomorrow though - not because I've had a bad week but because DP is working late and there is no way I'm taking the two DCs with me - there'll be hifi bars, scan brans and books everywhere!!! Lol.

Hi to SWvirgin - yes it is hard at first isn't it. I think once you know what basics to buy, you'll always have something around when you're hungry. I tend to always have 98% fat free super noodles, packet rice, cous cous, cold sliced meats and a full fruit bowl always as it stops me going to the crisps and chocs when hungry. Oh and mullerlight yogurts of course!

How is everyone else doing this weekend??

sticktoit · 22/06/2008 09:51

Oh and I managed to have a look through all the before and after photos on the facebook SW group - some of them are fantastic!! Goes to show it can really have fab results if you just "stick-to-it"!!

SWVirgin · 23/06/2008 10:37

Monday sure comes round quick! I have my second WI tonight and I'm excited. I have tried to be really good this first week and have about 30 syns left today from the 105 total of the week. I have to say though I am eating more and more syns every day. I've weighed myself at home and there seems some improvement(loss) but don't want to jinks it all as my scales are a bit dodgy. Or so I keep telling myself.

Just another quick question. Homemade fairy cakes made with butter, how many syns are they? At the moment they are my weakness, especially as Mum keeps on baking them fresh for the children's lunchboxes.

I've also joined the SW facebook group and just can't believe how much supprot there is out there. It's GREAT!!!

Just now wondering what DH, DC or DP means? (I'm guessing Darling Husband, Darling child/ren, Darling Partner/Parent)

sticktoit · 23/06/2008 12:30

Hi SWV - yes you're right on the DP, DH etc. Although the "D" often goes from my "DP"!!!!

Fairy cakes are 4 syns for plain ones and 5 for iced ones. Glad I'm not a cook - if I had things like that in the house I wouldn't stand a chance!!

Good luck for your weigh in. I weigh in on Mondays too but can't go tonight. I couldn't ask you a cheeky favour and ask you to check the online password for this week please??? Hope you don't mind, I usually post it on here but of course can't tonight as not going!!

I'm just having a fruit salad and a muller yogurt for lunch!
