Hi everyone

Nice new thread for us all x

OP posts:

Pecka - is your wiiboard on carpet or hard floor?? If on carpet it gives inaccurate readings, mine does the same. Said I'd gained 6lbs in 12 hours once !!!

PeckaRolloverAgain · 11/06/2008 13:25

It's on hard floor and I put it in the same spot each time lined up with the same floorboard!

Tommy · 11/06/2008 17:34

well done lurker! I lost 2lbs which takes me total up to 16 I'm very chuffed and some of my trousers are getting too big

I am being pretty strict day to day but not worrying about it if I go out - like to the beer festival last week when I not only had at least 2 pints of beer, I also had a basket of chips...

(note to self - will not keep losing if you have any more evenings like that, although it is my birthday this weekend so not sure if I'l lose next week anyway)

LissyD · 11/06/2008 20:20

Hi, I'm thinking of joining SW (need to lose about a stone and a half to be happy with my weight, two stone and a half to be back to pre baby days) but I'm a bit scared by all the quorn on the website-my DP does most of the cooking and he's a bit of a hugh fearnley whittingstall style meat lover, there is no way he would even eat quorn, never mind cook with it. Also he tends to cook quite obscure foreign stuff that I'm worried won't be in the lists. Is it workable around a foodie DP?

Beauregard · 11/06/2008 21:06

SWlurker-thanks for the info and well done on your loss.

Tonight i made a vegetable curry and it was yummy!Only thing i would change is that i wish i had made more

One more question btw,if i dont use all my healthy extras or syns does it matter?

xx

Tommy · 11/06/2008 21:13

you can carry your syns over but not sure about the HEs so if you don't use all your syns during the week, you can treat yourself at the weekend

Theoretically, you should be able to carry over HEs as well - they are all just calories after all - but I'm not sure that's "allowed" (I do sometimes - especialy when I make pizza at the weekend)

Beauregard · 11/06/2008 22:26

But if i dont eat them then thats ok too?
Thanks btw
x

Tommy · 11/06/2008 23:16

I don't always eat my A healthy extras. And the syns suggestion is 5-15 so it won't matter if you don't eat all 15

BouncingTurtle · 12/06/2008 06:51

SWLurker & Tommy - well done on your fab weight losses!!

LiddyD - Welcome, and we hope to be seeing less of you

Pelvicfloornomore - you should have all your HEBs as they help you maintain a balanced diet and generally are foods that in limited quantities help your weightloss. You should have at least 1 HEA, but you don't have to have both if it doesn't suit you.
All Batchelor's Pasta n sauce are free as SWlurker described
except Cheese leek and ham - 1 syn
Macaroni cheese - 1 syn
Carbonara - 1/2 syn
Incidentally, the amount of milk that is suggested on the packet is 3 syns, or you can use some from your HeA.
Quorn sausages - Bramley apple style, cumberland, bangers, bangers with Branston, sweet chilli, tomato and basil are all free.
The only ones I have come across that are not are the cheshire cheese and leek - they are half a syn each.
I lost 1/2 pound this week!

SWlurker · 12/06/2008 08:55

Hi LissyD - you really don't have to eat quorn if you don't want to there is LOADS of stuff to satisfy a meat lover!

First of all you can have original days - where, put very simply you are allowed as much lean meat as you like, and some good carbs (potato/pasta), or swap that around and have loads of potatoes, pasta or rice and some meat on a green day. The only thing you will have to watch with him cooking HFW style is that he doesn't use oil or grease to cook with. Would he cook with fry light instead of oil?

Most recipes can be adapted to be slimming world friendly, if he is open to things like using very low fat fromage frais instead of cream, control the amount of cheese that goes on etc etc then you should have loads of success!

PeckaRolloverAgain · 12/06/2008 09:35

Ok............I KNOW you shouldnt weigh all the time but wiifeckingfit has told me another pound on today so thats all 3 lost from last week back on this week without a single cheat

Tommy · 12/06/2008 10:01

LIssy - we are vegetarian and even we don't eat that much quorn!! I only do green days so I guess there must be some people that only do original

sticktoit · 12/06/2008 10:31

Morning all

Lissy - you can incorporate any meal slimming world style. Just have to watch what you cook with, as Lurker has said. Once you get used it is it's very easy.

Pecka - try not to weigh again until you go to group (that's if you go of course). Is it TOTM?

sticktoit · 12/06/2008 10:32

Oh - has any picked up this week's password yet please? Cheers!!

TartanKnickers · 12/06/2008 11:34

lentil still works today.....not sure when it expires

SWlurker · 12/06/2008 11:47

Think its peach or peaches?

SWlurker · 12/06/2008 15:14

pst! frsh pineapple and coconuts are on offer in Tesco at the moment! Have a tropical slim!

Furball · 12/06/2008 15:56

PFNM - get some cereal bars like alpen light which 2 = he or 1 x kelloggs all bran honey and oat bar. That way you can have your he but it seems like more of a treat

BouncingTurtle · 12/06/2008 17:43

Don't bother with the Ryvita Goodness bars - they are yak!

Furball · 12/06/2008 20:49

Furball · 12/06/2008 20:50

BouncingTurtle · 13/06/2008 09:06
