Morning all

Well done to GB and Furball - fab losses!! I too am following the 'slow n'steady' rule and I couldn't live without using any syns!

Lurker - you make some fantastic combinations of food, I might try your rice and bean one, sounds yum, perhaps with a HEa sprinkle of cheese on top too???!

Well for the first time in years, I watched launch night of BB last night with only a yogurt for munchies - I usually have wine and crisps, dip, chocs - take your pick!! So quite proud of self for that

Been invited to have a curry tonight......oh no! Just will try and have a free food day and have a dry biryani, count the chicken as a HEb, no chips, poppadums, naan bread, samosa etc !

SWlurker · 06/06/2008 10:11

Stick to it - well done! I find that type of snacking is the hardest habit to break so good on you girl!

babyjjbaby · 06/06/2008 10:37

thanks bouncing turtle
the pasta n sauce was mushroom and wine so free the sliced beef in gravy is only a healthy extra cos it is normal beef with just a oxo between usthe chicken no i didn't weigh tit i only had a bit bout 4 0z and i love the shape lasting satisfaction yogourts
gonna have a good day today

BouncingTurtle · 06/06/2008 10:58

Babyjjbaby - that's pretty good then!
Keep it up and I'm sure you'll see a weight loss next week!
I have to admit I didn't rate those Shape yogurts - I was still hungry after eating one

PeckaRolloverAgain · 06/06/2008 12:56

BouncingTurtle · 06/06/2008 13:04

Wow fantastic!

Have been playing Wii Sports though, love tennis and baseball!

babyjjbaby · 06/06/2008 20:23

thats it i blown it again today we went out and i was starving so had a freddo bar and packet of roast chicken crisps then when we got back i was starin so had 3 crispbread things 2 syns each with some cheese spread on then for dinner i had pototes and veg with 2 fish in breadcrumb portions am so with myself cos i do it every time i say i am going to stick to it does any1 else do this or is it just me who ruins it all the time oh and a knobbly bobbly ice lolly

BouncingTurtle · 07/06/2008 06:12

Believe me, babyjjbaby, you are not alone, anyone who says they haven't had days like that is lying

It doesn't sound that bad, tbh -

Freddo bar 5.5 syns
crisps - 7-8 syns
crispbreads and cheese - 8 syns
knobbly bobbly - 5 syns(i think)
so may be about 26, and you are allowed up to 15.
Just be very very good over the nexr couple of days!

Foxy76 · 07/06/2008 14:46

Hi all
Is it ok if I join you, I'm starting (yet again ) on monday and need a bit of support, I have over 10 stone to loose and cant find to courage to go to class yet so will be doing on my own, if anyone has any advice it will be much appriciated Sue x

BouncingTurtle · 07/06/2008 16:33

Welcome Foxy, glad you found us!
I take it you have done SW before?
Well any questions please feel free to ask. Just take it one day at a time

Furball · 07/06/2008 16:52

Good luck foxy.

my top tip is meal plan and buy accordingly.

Know what you are go to the cupboard for.

Also good to know that you have the right size chocolate bars or right crips in etc. so you aren't going to overdo it when you fancy a bag.

Have loads of fresh fruit in the bowl and get into the habit of going there first. If you fancy something crunchy a peeled chopped carrot gives good crunch value.

Foxy76 · 08/06/2008 12:51

Thanks furball and bouncingturtle for the advice . I have done SW about 6 years ago and lost alot of weight but never kept up with it, I have tried to do weight watchers but cant understand the points thing so starting tomorrow i'm following the plan in the new mag so going shopping now to stock up, classes round here are on a friday so am thinking of going its just a bit daugnting first meeting. Hope everything goes well for everyone this week and thanks again, Sue x

babyjjbaby · 08/06/2008 15:38

think i am going to have a few days off then start again lol

SWlurker · 09/06/2008 08:42

Hi Foxy

Hope you do get the courage to go to your class. Slimming World is wonderfully supportive. I hated weight watchers when I last went, but have been to a few slimming world classes and really enjoyed every one of them.

My weekend was not on SW plan, but I don't think I have put on. Did things like had a baguette for lunch with a naughty filling, the odd biscuit etc but to be honest the course "whizzed up our energy" and the leaders actively encouraged us to eat junk to get our feet back down on the ground. Its been a great weekend, so i don't regret going off plan in the slightest, (and if anyone in or near Cheshire wants some reiki let me know, I need volunteers!!) and obviously a bit suprised as with all the detoxing I had done thought I'd be in for a massive loss but given that I've blown the syns this weekend I'm not so sure about that. Back on track today certainly, so will have to wait and see what WI tomorrow brings.

How are all the other "established" members getting on? (thought that sounded better than old!!)

BouncingTurtle · 09/06/2008 14:09

AGGGGHHHHH! I've done it again, met a friend at Costa Coffee for lunch, had a very nice sandwich which was full of syns, nothing else on offer!!
Will star afresh tomorrow!

sticktoit · 09/06/2008 17:35

Well I'm totally peed off today.............been and weighed and have put on 1lb - for chuff sake!!!

I've not done anything to explain a gain. So .

Also have had a letter today from the NHS saying after 7 months they aren't 'able' to give me an operation I need - soooo going to appeal!

Been arguing with DP all weekend over £ which makes gaining worse as I've been finding it harder to resist eating junk.

So since I've been home I've eaten 6 choc digestives, 2 jammie dodgers and slice of buttered bread with the kids leftover cold, soggy oven chips - feel totally sick.

The house is a tip, my DD looks like the road and has dug up half my garden. The school is asking for yet more money and we haven't got any bloody money.

So going to have lasagne and chips for tea - stuff it.

SWlurker · 09/06/2008 17:55

Hey hey give yourself a break. I don't know anything about hospitals and schools but I'm sure others on here will be able to help you with those things, all is not lost.

If you've rowed all weekend that could well be making you hold on to water and weight - emotional muscle tension (or at least that what I percieve it to be) can.

It is NOT the end of the world and you have not wrecked your diet - just go for a walk in the fresh air or have a bath or do whatever you need to do to let yourself have your emotions and deal with them the way YOU want to. Tomorrow is another day.

PeckaRolloverAgain · 09/06/2008 21:08

Hi everyone

First week down and lost 3lbs

Im starting this week on a bit of a downer though, just feel a bit bored with what I can eat which is stupid because you can eat loads

Thank you lurker and letus.

Calmed down now.

I am however thinking of having a two week fast forward type thing to kick my loss up the bum. I'm motivated to lose weight but it's very hard when it's so slow. Does anyone have the fast forward plan they could send me please?

I'm sure it's on the net somewhere though I'll have a search.

See you all later

BouncingTurtle · 10/06/2008 16:03

Pecka - well done, that is a fab first week!

Sticktoit - hope you are having a better time of it, sounds like you had some rotten luck at the weekend.

Still not on the wagon yet...

Beauregard · 10/06/2008 21:28

Hi ladies

I have been lurking on here and furball has given me a slimming world book and has been letting me pick her brains.
I want to lose about 7 pound.

Can i just post some questions ,hope thats ok?

1-Can you tell me if Pot noodles would be free?

2-Which pasta in sauce are free?

3-Are quorn sausages free?

4-Which soups are free?

5-Which are the lowest choccie bars to have?

The syn values in the book are quite basic.

Thanks in advance.

SWlurker · 11/06/2008 08:47

HI Pelvicfloornomore - brilliant name!

  1. No sorry, pot noodles have syns - I think they're quite high in fat and sugar. Try 98% fat free supernoodles or the noodle mug shots, both are free.

  2. Most batchelors Pasta n sauces are free if made with water no butter or milk, or use milk from your allowance. I think there are a couple of exceptions, I think the macaroni cheese one is 2 syns and something else too...

  3. Yep, the "plain" quorn sausages are free, you can get flavoured like leek and cheese etc so if its not standard do just check. The ones with syns tend to be low in syns anyway.

  4. Homemade ones made with free ingredients! I don't know of any fresh or tinned soups that are free.

  5. Try snack size anything for roughly 5-6 syns each (would need to look up in directory), the hi-fi bars from class have yummy chocolate versions, - the biggest bargain for long lasting and satisfying for your syns is a normal curly wurly at 6 syns.

Hope that helps! You can also sign up to the website and check syns values online - someone on here will post the password every week.

I was really chuffed last night. Lost 3 1/2 lbs! unexpected, was hoping to lose 1lb if that. Want to get 2 this week to get 1/2 stone sticker. Going to try lots of speed foods this week.

Its quiet on here this week! Everyone ok?

sticktoit · 11/06/2008 10:08

Wow lurker that's super fab! Your detox week worked then. Given me some ideas anyways!

PeckaRolloverAgain · 11/06/2008 11:17

im v annoyed - my wiifit says ive gained 2lbs - despite not cheating at all
