Hi everyone

Nice new thread for us all x

Welcome pinacolada! And congrats on your baby

Have you had your postnatal check? They won't allow you to join until you have had this. Also if you are breastfeeding you get a different plan as well - you have to have more healthy extras.
There is myself and a couple of others who are following the breastfeeding plan!

Babyjjbaby - lay off the chicken dippers today

Well I managed to lose 1lb this week despite being very naughty at the weekend. God knows how I managed it Still sticking to the plan 100% atm!

SWlurker · 04/06/2008 08:34

Very pleased with a 1.5 lbs loss this week - adamant that this week will be 2lbs or more because of the detox thing I am going to do. Have decided cut back is better than cut out when it comes to caffine, so will have my morning cuppa but no more in the day unless I feel really groggy, but the sweets/chocolate/alcohol thing should be ok to do, and means less syns! Am going to try to have a week of 5 syns a day or less, but not get hung up if I do more. Will also be eating plenty of fruit and veg - I worked out I had done a massive 8 portions of fruit and veg yesterday! bubble and squeak for dinner was gorgeous

Strawberries and yoghurt for breakfast for me today, and I'll have some weetabix mid morning if I'm peckish. Have a very slimmign day everybody!

... and toadette, I know the feeling, but welcome back on board! [stern look] Make sure you visit us every day we'll help keep you on the waggon. Well, me for as long as I'm on it myself!

babyjjbaby · 04/06/2008 08:57

hi every one i am planning on having weetabix and banana bfor breakfast batchelors pasta n sauce for lunch then chicken veg and mash for dinner gonna try and cut down the syns this week so need ideas on free food snacks please not loads of fruit tho stuffy i can eat if i am real hungry during the day thanks

have a good day every1

BouncingTurtle · 04/06/2008 09:07

I have a packet of Ryvita Minis with some cottage cheese as a snack - 5 syns for the minis or a HeB.
If you fancy a treat, W/w chocolate eclairs are only 4 syns each!
How about making syn free (on a green day) crisps?
Take some lasagne sheets and cut into small triangles. Spray with frylight and sprinkle some salt and pepper and favourite herbs and spices on them - I recommend a little bit of chilli and paprika for a bit of a kick, and bake in the oven at 230 deg C for about 10 minutes or until they go crispy.
You can make yourself a free dip by mixing some cottage cheese with a little bit of crushed garlic and chopped chives, or salsa made from chopped tomatoes and peppers, oregano and basil and a generous pinch of chilli powder.

SWlurker · 04/06/2008 09:16

Are you red or green -ing?

snacks -

Hifi bar or 2 alpen light bars taken as HEb

Cereal & milk as HEa & b

a pot of very low fat cottage cheese (most flavours are free e.g. pineapple and onion & chive)

yoghurt

carrot, celery, pepper sticks & a dip made with quark or very low far fromage frais with herbs of your choice mixed in

Leftovers! - make too much lunch or dinner and eat leftovers if hungry between meals

I don't do red but green ones are;
Mug shots - all the 1% fat flavours are free, the 3% ones have 2-3 syns

Cheapo own brand smash!

Pickled or boiled eggs

a tin of spaghetti hoops

a tin of vegetable or cheese ravioli (check syns)

A tin of mixed bean salad, drained and just nibbled on. Same with chickpeas or red kidney beans. but then I am weird

98% fat free supernoodles - normal packet or the "pot noodle" style ones.

Hope that gives you some ideas! x

babyjjbaby · 04/06/2008 09:18

thanks that sounds real nice the chip thing when i am hungry i tend to have some pasta n sauce or some quarn sausgaes or summit which is free food bbut will i still lose weight if i fill myself up with things like that aswell as meals

SWlurker · 04/06/2008 09:18

BT I've always wondered aboout those - do you cook the lasagne first or just spray with fry light? And how do you tell if they're done?

Sorry for numpty questions!

BouncingTurtle · 04/06/2008 09:26

No don't cook the lasagne first.

SWlurker · 04/06/2008 09:32

I found I have done, but others have found not, so probably depends on you, babyjjbaby.

SW does not go on calories, but I tend to go on the basis that a mug shot is a lot less calories than a pasta & sauce so unless I'm starving and know it won't satisfy me until my next meal, I have a mug shot as a snack not a pasta & sauce, and I have pasta & sauces for main meals.

Sorry, probably not much help!

Bunch · 04/06/2008 10:29

Went to group last night and lost 2 1/2 lbs so really pleased with that. That's a total of 5 1/2 lbs in 3 weeks, is that about right? I did go camping at half term with the DCs and we had fish and chips (!) and ate out at Fridays (!!) so 2 1/2 lbs is great!!

Bunch · 04/06/2008 10:30

Talking of Fridays, does anyone have any good tips on what to eat there that is ok on SW?

nikkid21 · 04/06/2008 19:41

Tgi fridays - if on red I would have a big stek with the fresh vegetables as my side (no sauce). On green you could have the diablo pasta (no cheese on top). You could probably get away with the chicken linguine and use the chicken as 1 or 2 heb.

Then again you could just have ribs, fries, corn and a big icecream plus cocktails and call it a flexi day

lulurose · 04/06/2008 20:38

Hi all, may I join you? I joined up with SW again last night. I know it works for me as I lost 2.5 stones after having dd2 2 years ago. I've put a stone back on again since Xmas I'm ashamed to say and am hoping to lose that, plus another few pounds if possible.

hello swlurker what are mugshots lol weighed my self this morning so i am going to do it a 100% i put on pouand but i haven't been sticking to it asuch any tips on staying motivated cos i wake up and feel really motivated but find it real hard not to eat too much as i like snacking i was wondering if i could fill myself up on pasta n sauce or smash or summit but then dunno if i will lose weight but if i did that i would be able to cut down to 10 syns more easily instead of 15 syns a day right i'm off to have some porridge lol

sticktoit · 05/06/2008 10:32

Mug Shots are pasta/noodle snacks in a sachet that you just add hot water to - in a mug. I've added a picture of one to my profile. They're not bad but you can get a bit sick of them after a while.

I think most a free, one or two might be low syn though.

I'm starving today!

babyjjbaby · 05/06/2008 10:44

great thanks i'll get some to try

grinningbee · 05/06/2008 14:38

Hi all,

Sorry, long time no post! I've been busy making candles and wax melts.

My weight loss to date (since April 9th) is a pleasing 20.4 pounds, so not far to the stone and a half!

I've managed not to fall off the wagon yet, and have even managed to sit and watch hubby eat freshly fried donuts....

Not sure if that was willpower or stupidity actually!

I'd like to think it was willpower....

BouncingTurtle · 05/06/2008 14:52

Definitely willpower
Welcome back and congrats on the weightloss!

SWlurker · 05/06/2008 14:52

Definately willpower grinningbee!

I'm really enjoying my detoxing few days and would recomend it to anyone. Bought some lentil and bean shoots from sainsburys (assume free as lentils and beans are) and stirred them into some wholegrain cous cous with some salsa and laughing cow light. havent had any caffine yet today, only had one mug yesterday, although feeling a bit headachey so will see how it goes.

3 1/2 lb this week only another 1 lb for 1 1/2 stone and another 1 after that for my club 10 - woohoo

babyjjbaby · 05/06/2008 22:32

all ur weight losses r great i seem to lose weight one week then put on again today i had
breakfast weetabix and banana

lunch pasta n sauce

dinner mash beef slices in gravy and veg

snacks
banas yogourts chicken and a twister lolly

BouncingTurtle · 06/06/2008 07:34

Babyjjbaby

Weetabix with banana - a personal favourite of mine.

I assume you were having a green day? If so, then

Pasta n sauce - free, though what variety? Some are synned.

Mash & veg, free
Sliced beef in gravy - you would need to syn it and you could probably deduct 6 syns as you can have 85g of beef as a b choice. As an example, Asda's sliced beef in gravy is 7.5 syns per 200g portion.

Yoghurt & banana both free, assuming yoghurt is mullerlight or similar fat free yogurt.
The chicken - did you weigh it? This would be synned on a green day. A 227g portion of lean chicken is 7.5 syns.
Twister is 4.5 syns.

HTH

Oh and well done Furball!!

SWlurker · 06/06/2008 08:30

Furball thats fantastic!

I'm still loving detox, ... although I'm not sure that 2 tins of spaghetti at 12 midnight was very good for the detox!! I had that headache for the rest of the day and was a bit miffed to read that caffine withdrawl lasts for 7 days, and since I want to be feeling good for the weekend I am having 1/2 a cup of coffee this morning on the basis that cut down in this case is better than cut out

Had brown rice with a tin of mixed beans, halved cherry tomatoes and chopped fresh herbs in it, and spent 2 syns on some honey and wholegrain mustard to mix in, along with a squirt of lime juice. It was delish, especially as I ate it cold from leftover rice.
