keepcalmandcarryon · 07/04/2008 09:59

10 st 9.5lb this morning - GAIN of 1.5lb. Rats. May well be random fluctuations tho.

Overall still 6.5lb down since we started.

beansprout · 07/04/2008 11:18

Sorry to hear that Keepcalm, I had a gain of 2lbs a couple of weeks back and it was v depressing.

Have had three weights from the scales this morning- which one do I use?!!

OP posts:
Niecie · 07/04/2008 11:43

I'm down a lb I think. Difficult to tell. Bought lovely new digital scales a few weeks ago, thinking they would be consistent and right and I got two readings today. Either I have lost 3lbs or one. I am inclined to think one because I kept getting that result after repeated weighings.

And in all honesty I don't really think that 3lb would be right as I haven't been that good or that active.

Bought another book this week by Marisa Peer. Bit like Paul McKenna but hopefully her voice isn't so annoying as his on the CD. Not read it all but it isn't an eating plan but about changing your relationship with food emotionally rather than dieting and eating less.

I have to stop buying books though as I am getting £'s lighter not lbs lighter.

sagacious · 07/04/2008 11:46

Back to square one

12 stone

I will be back on track .. its the dc's being off for our weird two part school holidays thats thrown me.
Its DD'S 4th birthday at the weekend which means party food and more booze plus that

That and the wine/trips out

Still I know I CAN do it (looking on the positive side)
Its just when I get round to do it

bellabelly · 07/04/2008 14:18

Duh, forgot to weigh myself this morning so will report back tomorrow! Am hoping to have reached the 12 stone mark but suspect have been too lazy and too boozy over the weekend for that...

Well done to all who've lost, commiserations to those who haven't. What week are we on now? Is it 6 or 7? We are all marvellous for sticking with it.

beansprout · 07/04/2008 17:32

Can it be week 6? Then my overall loss of 4lbs won't seem so bad.

OP posts:
piratecat · 07/04/2008 18:51

think its week 6 now.

I have lost 1 lb, down to 11st 6 now. overall loss of 5lbs.

bellabelly · 08/04/2008 09:07

OK, remembered to weigh in this morning - have lost a pound and a half since last week which am quite pleased with, although I haven't quite lost my first whole stone yet - boo! Hopefully next week...

Was quite warm and sunny here yesterday after the snow on Sunday so that inspired me to start thinking about summer clothes - am hoping to be able to squeeze into some of my old stuff again. If I can be bothered later, I might try on a few things for size. Know I'll be a bit if none of them fit still but would be nice to find out that some are wearable!

beansprout · 08/04/2008 09:53

Well done PC and BB!!

Am not going near summer clothes yet. That's the advanced stuff.

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 08/04/2008 17:12

Hi girls, don't want you to think I've forgotten but I'm not weighing this week. I've got some rubbish health problems at the moment so I've got to focus on that for a few weeks, I'll keep an eye on the thread though, don't disappear on me, I keep seeing new weight loss threads all over the place...

DANCESwithaMuffinTop · 08/04/2008 17:13

Oh and being rubbish at the moment but should have answers to other stuff after tests in the next couple of weeks and then it's full steam ahead for the summer, I will not be a blubber bunny on holiday.

Niecie · 08/04/2008 18:00

Sorry to hear you aren't well Dances - I hope it isn't too serious and you are back with us in a couple of weeks.

Well done to all those who have lost this week. Some of you have lost some serious weight now. I hope you are all feeling better for it.

I don't hold out much hope for this week. We are off to France for 4 nights on Thursday so I have no doubt I shall be unable to resist croissants, pain au chocolate and baguettes. No point in going if I don't, specially as I don't drink wine! The only consolation is that we will be out and about walking around much more than we would have been if we had stayed at home so maybe that will compensate.

keepcalmandcarryon · 09/04/2008 19:53

anyone about?

beansprout · 10/04/2008 08:11

You ok Keepcalm?

Sorry to hear you are not well Dances. Look forward to your return when you are feeling better.

I'm not doing anything different this week but it just doesn't feel like a good one. Not sure why. Best get out there and start walking!!

OP posts:
keepcalmandcarryon · 10/04/2008 11:16

fine thanks beansprout, just a bit bored of not scoffing as much food as I'd like!

hope you get better soon, Dances.

bellabelly · 10/04/2008 14:34

Dances, we will miss you while you're gone - hope your health problems clear up soon. I have stopped my habit of weighing myself every morning as felt I was letting it affect my mood too much if I hadn't lost / had gained so I am sticking to just Monday mornings now.

Have been a bit slack with the exercise (just walking!) this week so am going to try and step that up over next few days to compensate... Still drinking too much in the evenings though and feel that am being too weakwilled about it. Still, can't be perfect I guess!

Niecie - am , have a great time in France and enjoy every last crumb of croissant!

bellabelly · 13/04/2008 14:27

Where is everyone???? Hope everyone's having a good weekend - weather here is pants!

beansprout · 14/04/2008 11:04

Same weight as last week pretty much, I lost half a lb.

Anyone else?

OP posts:
bellabelly · 14/04/2008 13:45

Forgot to weigh in, will do it tomorrow. Am thinking I will be pretty much the same as last week but we will see...

AnAngelWithin · 14/04/2008 13:51

hi all. sorry i am going to give this a miss for a while now. have got too much else on my plate at the moment in RL.

good luck to you all x x x

Niecie · 15/04/2008 14:38

I know I am a day late but I have lost 1lb this week despite having been in France for the weekend so I am pleased. Despite the croissant and the bread I suppose I was more active than normal so that probably helped. Mind you that is still only a total of 3lb so far so I need to step up my efforts this week.

Interesting how ideas on healthy eating differ in France. Their idea of a healthy breakfast, according to nutritionists, is bread and butter, some sort of dairy product (yoghurt or cheese), a drink and some fruit or fruit juice. We would think it was bad to have bread and butter but they don't, nor is wholemeal bread very big even now, and they do look a lot slimmer to me than we do on average.

Everything in moderation I suppose.

bellabelly · 16/04/2008 14:07

Niecie, that's fab - I LOVE croissants and would happily have them for breakfast every day in France. Great that you still lost weight!

AAW - hope to see you back here soon.

Weighed myself yesterday and have lost a pound so am chuffed with that. The weather has been a bit crappy - lots of April showers so have been finding it harder to keep going for long walks. Hoping that will change as the weather improves, although now the twins are well into proper weaning that seems to take up ALL my time. And of course it's quite tempting to have just the odd spoonful of yoghurt/ice cream as i'm giving them pudding!

Buda · 16/04/2008 14:11

Hi all - have been away and am so NOT in diet frame right now. But I will hopefully get back to it next week.

Reason for frame of mind is here - still a bit all over the place and depending on wine and comfort food. Am supposed to be on holiday right now but am home and feeling fed up.

Niecie · 16/04/2008 23:56

Oh Buda, that is really awful. I hope your mum continues to improve and she finally gets all the help she needs. Hope your Dad and your sisters are bearing up too. You must have all felt so helpless.

The fiasco with Legoland must have been the icing on the cake. I wouldn't blame you if you drank a vat of wine and ate your own weight in chocolate.

I hope the week gets better for you.

keepcalmandcarryon · 17/04/2008 00:40

Sorry to hear about your tough time Buda. Know what you mean about not being in diet frame - rather falls into insignificance in comparison at these sort of times.

God rot the hospital systems which place so little value on individuals.

From my experience, you need to fight every bloody inch of the way to get anywhere. Good luck to your mother, and you, and your family.
