Team RH - has anyone actually been visited by a debt collector

RowansMammy · 28/05/2024 18:21

Has anyone used Team RH and had a bad experience or had debt collectors at the door? I used the app for 1 day. Total scam and mis sold. Only after waiving your right to the 14 day cooling off period, creating a direct debit, does it tell you to download my fitness pal which is free and clunky. It did all the work.

I used team RH for 1 day and tried to cancel to be told no. There is no way I'm paying for a 12 month contract for a service I used for one day. I don't follow the plan, I don't take any notice of the goals I've been set. I'd rather be fat to be honest.

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone has actually had debt collectors come to the door or is it just the bully emails and calls? has anyone experienced anything?

The monthly payment option is not out of the goodness of his heart. It's an obvious marketing play to reduce objections and get more sign-ups (and revenue).

People will sign up for a lower monthly fee (but wouldn't sign up to pay in full for a year) and -generally - people can't be bothered to cancel small monthly payments. So pay monthly = more sign-ups and more £ (if people pay, of course...)

Festivemoose · 13/07/2024 07:51

But hes not me, he seems to want to allow the grateful "mums" which have not much to rub together per month but want to join the private group which features anyway just mostly rachel and not him so much so that me, a guy didnt feel really much for me in private group back then. Morning sessions with Rachel caters more to women anyway

You keep talking about mothers not having much to “rub together” each month so Richey needs to help them out (while belittling them and using abusive language to humiliate them) - don’t be so patronising.

You also keep referencing Rachel. She dumped him well over a year ago for being a prick. She’s not involved with TeamRH anymore.

It’s a bit of a stretch to call creating an excel spreadsheet to calculate your averages “coding”

LionBarPlease · 13/07/2024 08:14

What does ‘gratefulness’ have to do with a paid for weight loss method?

grumpytoddler1 · 13/07/2024 08:29

I'm not a lawyer, but is it legal for someone who is not a regulated credit provider to 'out of the goodness of their heart', provide credit to people? Is that not an industry which is highly regulated? Any old dickhead can't just go providing credit to members of the public, that would surely be illegal?

I made a sheet because I had learned everything I needed 🤣, I understood what makes the caloric TDEE and well versed enough to actually use my coding skills to make my own weekly statistics using the API with MyFitnessPal, it was a bit of work but it gets me where I need to go.. I jusy pointed out my history but I can see what kind of forum i have landed on, now im being called Richie, its the type of forum sort of like a toxic reddit. So if you dont hate Richie then you are Richie 🤣

"Coding skills" 😂

scatterby · 13/07/2024 09:13

The thing is there are numerous online fitness/weightloss apps and I’ve not come across one that doesn’t offer a free trial so you can see if it’s for you or not - and they are all digital too - it’s obviously that this one doesn’t offer what people think it does when they sign up!

Rrmorgza · 13/07/2024 09:42

@SteiniPe okay thanks for that mansplaining re: weight loss/Team RH. Please leave this thread now. Thanking you kindly!!

Rrmorgza · 13/07/2024 09:47

Hey cool, at least you dont think I AM Richie anymore, thats a progress... somewhat.. I glossed over these replies because they were all pretty much the same "hah Richie"

Regarding point b) He never had to offer this to people per month on what is probably a normal agreement (handshake scouts honor) but he did anyway.

If I would have been him, I would have simply dropped this method because of the amount of ungrateful characters in the UK (not applicable outside of UK this method) on forums that join and then dislike the service with a buyers remorse attitude over few measly pounds a month.

But hes not me, he seems to want to allow the grateful "mums" which have not much to rub together per month but want to join the private group which features anyway just mostly rachel and not him so much so that me, a guy didnt feel really much for me in private group back then. Morning sessions with Rachel caters more to women anyway..

His hook is profanity, betties and tinas and it works well for guys..

Anyway you dont need him, all you need is to understand caloric deficit and TDEE formula and u got it what they are doing.. its just a group of likeminded people doing home exercises in the morning keeping each other accountable but with a healthy intake approach instead of low calorie starvation nonsense.

You just continue doing you :)

You know an awful lot about his business model and intentions for someone who is not affiliated with him! If he wants to help people he needs to make it clear that they are entering into a credit agreement, what he is currently doing isn't enforceable, legal or very clever. He's not doing it as a favour he's doing it because either he has no idea it doesn't work like that or he does know and he's trying to circumvent the law. How can people be so ungrateful for his dodgy business practices...?

Did you miss out a comma or is his hook "profanities, betties and tinas"? In which case, what is betties and tinas and how does it work well for guys but not women? Wouldn't it be better for business if he chose a model that works for everyone rather than less than 50% of the world's population! Especially as you also say a lot of it is aimed at women.

FrancisSeaton · 13/07/2024 10:11

This man is a dreadful oaf. He blocked me on Facebook for not agreeing with him shaming on of the people following his 'diet' and saying she was obviously making excuses not putting the work in and then sharing her food diary to shame her! And his boneheaded minions who think his advice is worth anything are just as bad

If I remember correctly there are certain exceptions ie it can't be longer than a 12 period and the cost cannot be more - so the get around this is that the cost is the 12x monthly payments and you get a "discount" for paying up front in full.

Eg cost is £120 @ £10 per month, with £20 discount to £100 for the year if you pay upfront on full.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 13/07/2024 10:26

Sorry for typos (on app and can't edit)

FrancisSeaton · 13/07/2024 10:50

@SteiniPe - Ritchie darling. We all know it's you us mums without two pennies to rub together are actually very astute 😉
So whilst you are here why not listen to what people are saying. Which is mainly that you are a massive prick who thinks shaming mainly women who aren't losing weight because your plan is a load of nonsense and not based in any science whatsoever. Your arrogance will be the undoing of you and I'm looking forward to seeing that day. The old saying 'if you meet a dickhead one day you meet a dickhead. If everyone you meet is a dickhead then YOU are the dickhead' has never been more pertinent.
Good bye 👋🏻

SuperBatFace · 13/07/2024 11:15

@SteiniPe so you can happily leave the thread now can't you? Now you've done your bit (hilarious)

GOTBrienne · 13/07/2024 11:17

All I can see in the username @SteiniPe is the word penis? Is it an anagram of something

Tattletwat · 13/07/2024 14:30

SteiniPe · 12/07/2024 19:30

There it is, its because you dont like his method, thats all this is. Its not because of scam as this started out. I got no affiliation, I just didnt understand it until I realized what kind of forum I landed on.

I merely explained the reasoning for this, the thing is people got it in their head that Im Richie, the hilarious part about it is even if they saw who I am they wud still stick by it..

Something tells me reasoning on thisnfoeum is futile 🤣

Nope I didn't mention anything about his method he is a misogynistic prat, that is nothing to do with his method that's his personality.

But yeah his app is crap, he is awful and shames people instead of helping them. His selling point is that slimming world is crap, so he sells his product by slating competition rather than the greatness of his product.

He wants you to take weighing scales when you go and eat out, which to me promotes disorded eating.

So the above is me slating his methods this time.

To say you aren't bothered you seem to be very invested in him, you might not be him but you are one of his cult/team.

I’ve never had an email demanding anything. How can they enforce late payment fees?

Has anyone had anything from a debt recovery agency? Who do they use? I think it’s all done in house.

please comment with your experience. Nobody has come forward yet. If the tattle life people see this, please ask on your forum.

I want to hear a genuine horror story, not just a “they sent me a nasty email”. Which obviously still isn’t nice, but, it’s just words. Any actions?

The regulations that are quoted are incorrect, the late payment of commercial debts regs are between businesses, not between business and consumer.

There is no horror storys as he has never taken it further, unless its a court appointed bailiff. Debt collection agencies have no real power and just try and scare you.

Shelsi81 · 21/07/2024 13:45

Thanks, I have no clue, I’m just waiting for the emails to stop, the one before was sent two weeks ago and threatened legal action, now this says another 7 days, so they don’t correlate

Only way you would get damage on your credit file is if he took you to court and won which would be doubtful and then you didn't pay the county court judgement, if you pay the judgement it won't go on your file, you have no credit agreement with them so you can't get on your file for simply not paying.

I had a underwear brand threatening to take me to court for cancelling my subscription, they eventually disappeared.

He won't take it to court as his terms are not fully legal and it would cost him more money that he would get back.

If you want a laugh there is a tiktocker called runningdad who is ripping into them and has been sent a cease and desist from their solicitor, but its ok for them to rip into sliming world all the the time. The tiktocker hasn't stopped.
