And I'm 10 stone 7. How did that happen ?!? Someone give me a kick up the arse.

I hate calorie counting just eat less. My bowels have been horrific all week so I can't believe I've gained! Back down to 66kg today lol.

@Loveriver sorry to hear you've been sick! Do you think you're ill or just food related? So glad you're back down.

Loveriver · 19/06/2024 07:34

I've had a weird virus for a couple of weeks. Everyone seems ill where I am !! Also I've come off anti depressants so maybe that's affecting me ?

OP posts:
Loveriver · 22/06/2024 12:56

Ahhh stuck at 65kg. Is anyone else stuck ?

9st10 today

Hey @Loveriver I was stuck at that weight for a while. The only thing that has helped me is to keep going. Consistency means sometimes I'll drop a pound or two after a few days stagnating. Not eating carbs for dinner and cutting out treats has helped me lots too. Walking aswell, I think it helps my brain feel better so I don't self soothe with crap food. It's soooo hard to be at a plateau, so frustrating.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 23/06/2024 07:20

I’m completely plateaued at 10.12/10.13. I’ve been this weight for months and months. I need some sort of drastic ass kicking change I think to get my weightloss moving again. It’s my birthday in just under 4 weeks and I go on holiday in 5 so I really do want to break this plateau and I could get to goal in that time but I just cannot get past this weight.

Savethedramaforyourmama · 24/06/2024 08:16

Finally hit 9 stone 13! Have had a few weeks of illness, then socialising/being away for work so has been really hard to keep at it. So just relieved to have finally dipped below 10 stone. Now need to step up a bit.
I signed up for Nutracheck about a month ago and so far I’ve found it much better than MFP, which I have been using on and off for over 10 years (depressing).
Well done to all for keeping on keeping on.

braveandwellbehaved · 24/06/2024 10:30

@Savethedramaforyourmama aaah congrats! Great feeling to be in the lower stone bracket ! I find MFP depressing too as I associate it with failure and misery 😂 I don’t calorie count currently as I can’t make it work, but if I didn’t have such a strong aversion to it I totally would as I very much believe in calories I’m calories out.

@thenewaveragebear1983 argh how frustrating! Is there anything you could pinpoint to be the big change. I was reading yesterday about how sugar and lots of carbs create a chain reaction cycle that causes us to eat more. I cut sugar and carbs for three days before I started acrually losing the weight and I was kind of a game changer. I don’t know if that’s why but it’s the only thing I did different (I haven’t increase exercise much or eaten anything special except a focus on protein over carbs). Hope you’re alright and you find that “click” soon

Loveriver · 24/06/2024 14:06

Well done all! I've weighed in at 66kg again. I've done 1 hours of gym class this morning and cleaned the house for 3 hours. Surely that must help?

OP posts:
braveandwellbehaved · 26/06/2024 16:24

@Loveriver the thing that really helped me was focusing on lowering food intake not really moving more… but maybe you’re struggling for other reasons?

thenewaveragebear1983 · 26/06/2024 18:38

I’ve been trying something new this week, I’ve almost completely cut out processed food and dairy and any bread/grains/cereals. I don’t know whether it’s working on the scales because I’ve hidden them, but I will say that I feel really good for it and it’s been so, so much easier to stick to my calories and carbs, just by default. I even made my own mayo!

braveandwellbehaved · 26/06/2024 21:03

@thenewaveragebear1983 sounds amazing! Are you weighing in weekly? I’m sure you’ll have a loss! Home made mayo sounds amazing NGL!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 26/06/2024 21:25

@braveandwellbehaved it’s so easy to make as well. I’ve been having really nice meals with meat, salad, I had sweet potato wedges tonight as I was feeling a bit in need of some carbs.

Loveriver · 26/06/2024 22:01

I've got 3 weeks till holiday and I've got lots on. I think I may just have to accept no more weight loss

OP posts:
Loveriver · 27/06/2024 18:49

What do you eat and drink when socialising? I'm going to a festival on Saturday and it's all the crap that makes me gain weight.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 27/06/2024 21:07

I had another really good day today. I love it when everything just clicks. My meals were good, I didn’t really snack except for some melon. I’ve had no processed food all week, no dairy and bread/flour products. I feel so much lighter! It’s really weird. I noticed this morning that I didn’t wake up all stiff in my joints, and I haven’t had the mid afternoon slump either even though I’ve had a really busy day. I haven’t weighed myself, I’m not sure I even want to yet as I’m just enjoying actually feeling like I’m sticking to a plan and I don’t want to break the spell! I go on holiday 4 weeks tomorrow so I need to keep this up for a few more weeks!

Well done. Processed crap defo makes me sluggish and achy.

I've had fried egg on toast, home made chilli and rice and peas and 5 chicken stripes. Had a protein bar and some nuts too. I'm on my period so I feel bloated anyway.

OP posts:
thenewaveragebear1983 · 28/06/2024 06:41

I hopped on the scales this morning, I am down a couple of pounds since Sunday which is great. I’m still in the range of my normal fluctuations (151.5lbs , I bob around here up to about 154 at the moment) so not getting too excited yet, however I am actually due on my period any day and normally am a bit bloated then, plus I can feel in my fingers and feet that I am not carrying as much water. I’m definitely going to keep up my clean eating for another week.

Friday is always tricky, I finish work at 4.30 and usually dh will have a few beers or red wine, I do enjoy a nice cold glass of wine. But I can also go without (did 3 months totally dry this year) so I just need to get past the initial craving. I bought some sparkling water as I thought a really nice cold sparkling water with lemon might hit somewhere near. This weekend I really want to do a long run, 10 miles maybe. I am doing London 2025 marathon and I really need to start getting my distances up a bit before I start properly training. I also have a call today with a local gym who does outdoor bootcamp in the park I walk my dog, I am really keen to start that.

so my plan for the weekend is loads of veg, water and fruit, clean eating, loosely track my calories, long run, no alcohol.

braveandwellbehaved · 29/06/2024 16:34

@thenewaveragebear1983 aah that’s amazing! I def feel like my period seems to stall weight loss a few days then after it if I stay consistent with food through it , I drop a good amount and it’s v exciting! I’ve had a bit of an insulting couple of days- went out with friends from work last night and had creamy fresh pasta dish and tons a wine, and then today I’ve had a hangover cure pizza. It was delicious but I feel pretty gross. Hoping I can have a very light dinner of fruit and yoghurt ans call it a day. Praying damage isn’t too bad tomorrow. Early bed is a must, unsure if it’s the hangover of staying up so late that’s making me feel so tired!

maybe both.

back on it tomorrow, want to take my girls out for a proper play as the weather looks nice.

braveandwellbehaved · 29/06/2024 17:01

next year I fly out on Thursday morning … would it be great to have a solid base of good days by then yesss! I’ve been dipping down into the 9st 9 bracket but always bounce bag up. Few strict and energetic days won’t hurt. Cutting alcohol too. Sending love!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 08/07/2024 17:26

How's everyone getting on? It's now 2.5 weeks til I go on holiday. My weight has barely budged, I'm still in the grips of the plateau. I'm feeling a lot better though, I'm still totally clean eating and no alcohol, no sugar, no bread. Writing that down, I bloody deserve to have lost some weight really, but anyway. I feel like I'm looking really healthy and have loads of energy so that's a positive, and I'm definitely less bloated so no idea why it's not showing on the scales.

But anyway. Keep on keeping on and all that.

I ran a half marathon today and am sticking still to my calorie target, hopefully this will give me a boost this week. I joined a new gym so I'm doing various hiit and bootcamp classes. There's an online yoga tonight which I am looking forward to because my legs are really aching from running today.

After today I might drop my calories for a few days and see if that makes any difference.

Savethedramaforyourmama · 09/07/2024 15:44

@thenewaveragebear1983 it’s so frustrating when that happens, especially when you can’t see a reason for it. But well done on all the non scale victories, and like you say keep on keeping on! I am definitely one for focussing on the scale above everything. Hopefully it will be a mini plateau and then you’ll drop again.
I was down at 9 stone 11 this morning which I was pleased with although the loss is very slow. At least it’s steady. Noticing my clothes fit a bit better which is nice. But we are having some building work and got a lot going on family wise so I think the next few weeks may be challenging in terms of managing to fit in workouts and avoiding takeaways!

braveandwellbehaved · 10/07/2024 07:49

Hey! I'm doing ok, back from Scotland break to see family, was lovely actually. The girls got to have a good play with cousins and the weather was actually nice, couple of sunny days and some really stormy ones that were nice to cosy up on! I ate a lot of crap, and was worried weight was going to be mad. I drank a lot of wine, and loads of chocolate ooooops. But still weighing in at 9 st 10/11 (fluctuating). I'm having some issues motivating myself which is a bit annoying, I'm off the wagon and just can't get back on it seems. I'm wondering if I'm being too strict actually...

I've joined this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight_loss_chat/5108880-july-weight-loss-challenge?reply=136414512

so hoping to keep going through July as clearly I'm not going to hit target before my holiday ...

@thenewaveragebear1983 Urgh sooo fustrating when that happens but yeah I as you say I do think sticking to it provides you with NSVs like feeling better and being less bloated. It's happened to me too where I've just been stuck and then it's all come off quite suddenly after staying consistent.

@Savethedramaforyourmama hey! Act it's hard when the routine is disrupted but congrats on maintaining your loss
