7 weeks is loads of time to drop a stone.

I know it’s not for everyone, but I can always lose weight quickly before holidays doing strict keto.

RedWineIsFine · 27/05/2024 09:13

Can I join for accountability? I'm 5'5" 10st 11.2 as of today and as it's a Monday it seems a good place to start. I can't do any exercise apart from a slow walk as not long had surgery but if I don't stop eating crap that figure is going to get even bigger. Ideally would like to be 10st but that's probably not feasible by my end of August break.

Loveriver · 27/05/2024 09:41

I just love food and I've always eaten alot. I did do keto and the weight fell off me but it made me wee alot.

Yes, me! 13st 9 this morning. Holiday in 7 weeks too and would love to be a stone lighter. I need to just not eat sugary snacks at all and it’ll fly off, I eat so much of it! Willpower needed.

emeraldhair · 27/05/2024 10:07

I'm just going cut out the crap which as you can tell from my cw is very hard for me and hope loose stone at least

Loveriver · 27/05/2024 10:40

Just done 30 mins body tone in the gym. The gym I love. It's the diet side.

cashmerecardigans · 27/05/2024 12:26

I've been to the gym, just come back and eaten a yogurt and some blueberries. Have also been and done a reasonably healthy shop. Now I'm home it'll be a bit more of a battle as I am a shocker for picking at food on and off

WhitegreeNcandle · 27/05/2024 13:02

So far today I’ve hidden my chocolate on the shed that’s locked up at night and I can’t work the padlock to unlock it!!!

B - avocado on toast.
L - cheese salad followed by mango and raspberries
T - homemade pesto pasta with broccoli and green beans.

couple of hours gardening done this morning, more to do this afternoon

Loveriver · 27/05/2024 14:21

Is anyone on anti depressants? I've been on escitalopram for 3 years and think it's made me fatter

@Firstshoes what are Chaffles?

Im def up for an accountability thread. Haven’t weighed this morning but will do tomorrow. Aim for me will be 3 square meals a day, no snacks in front of the tv and try to avoid alcohol at weekends. Exercise wise I try to run twice a week and do Caroline girvan twice a week. Might try and up the latter to attempt to wear a bikini. Just find her workouts a tad too long for me, I feel I need 20-40 mins not 30-40 mins.

A chaffle is egg and cheese in a waffle maker basically. There are loads of recipes online . I bought a mini waffle maker on Amazon for £12. I use chaffles instead of bread like a sandwich and you can put a variety of fillingsin them.. BLT chaffles are lovely. They are fun, filling and seem to be really helping me with the weight loss.

I'm just the same. In fact I find it easier to lose weight when I don't go. It makes me so hungry.

WhitegreeNcandle · 27/05/2024 16:34

@Firstshoes they look amazing! Don’t have a waffle maker but do have a lot of eggs and cheese!

I suppose you could maybe make them in a pan? The waffle maker is the best £12 I've spent though Grin

I’m in but I’m not weighing in til Thursday which will be a ‘see the damage’ weigh in. I’m going to do 2 strict weeks of fast 800 as a starter. It destroys my running times but I’m prepared to sacrifice. I’m going Caroline Girvan too, I’m 5 weeks into iron and then I’m going to do beast mode

wineandsunshine · 27/05/2024 18:30

Monday weigh-ins sound good. I was 71.9kg this morning.

Managed week 5, run 1 on C25K...however my food hasn't been great!

Beautifulsunflowers · 27/05/2024 19:35

Well I’ve felt poorly all day so apart from not moving from the sofa much I’ve also not eaten loads and I’ve drunk lots of water- not the best start as I did have a gym class booked and had to cancel.
Tomorrow is a new day and I’m back at work so have to avoid the biscuits and snacks!

WhitegreeNcandle · 28/05/2024 06:39

Right. I’m all in from today. The damage is worse than I thought - 10st11.8. Aim is to be 10st 4 in 7 weeks as that gets me in a size 10. Up early (ish) to go for a run this morning because if I don’t go first thing other things take over.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 28/05/2024 07:48

Can I join you? I'm eight weeks out from a holiday and I'd like to lose 10lbs.

I lost a significant amount of weight last year and I've pretty much plateaued since then. Went away in Feb, felt amazing compared to old self but want to loose a little more yet.

I'm on half term this week so planning lots of gym classes and good food. Will weigh again on Monday with you all!

braveandwellbehaved · 28/05/2024 08:35

@cashmerecardigans first thing I did was cut out sugar and it helped soooo much. I did a few days of no sugar (like sweets, chocolate, jam - I had pasta and potatoes etc) but that really helped curb the craving, then it helped a lot just going forward into this month! I used to it tons of sweets and so did my daughters - and now I can see how much healthier they are eating too as I'm eating more fruit and veg snacks!

braveandwellbehaved · 28/05/2024 09:05

Hey all! Can I also join? There's also a thread called 'The last 10 lbs' I'm on which is just that, people who've lost a significant amount but just wanna get those last few off!

I've been losing weight for a while but struggling for those last 10-15lbs so so much, probably over a year now I've been stuck 10st 7-10lbs. I've not felt 'good' about myself for so long and I just go so sick of it. it's such a horrible feeling to dislike what you see in the mirror. That's really changed this last month with weight loss, I've been soooo amazed and how much better/younger I look and how much better I feel, more energised day to day etc. It does make me wish I had started sooner but that's silly, and I WAS trying just nothing CLICKED this time and I'm loving it. Once the progress starts to 'show' either in clothes or on scale, that's when I start gaining momentum.

Stats:
SW: 13 st+
SW 1st May 2024: 10 st 7
CW: 10 st 1
UGW: 9 st 6

I've got an event June 7th and holiday 8th July so would be great to get under 9 st 12 for both of them but I don't want to rush myself or disappoint myself. I'm going the right way, even if I'm maintaining most days, it's going down. I tend to weigh most days just to watch the fluctuations and understand the trend (because if I weigh once a week and I fluctuate up, that's so hard to take).

@thenewaveragebear1983 Caroline Girvan sounds good - any advice on where to 'start' with her? I'm pretty intermediate weight lifter at the gym I'd say.

Loveriver · 28/05/2024 09:26

Hello all newbies! I've had a lot of social engagement the last few weeks so found that alcohol makes me fat and makes me eat carbs the next day! Going to a concert on Saturday but driving and not drinking!!!

I lost a stone and a half and two dress sizes in 6 weeks with meal replacement shakes.

How many meals did you replace? And which replacement shakes did you use please?

We have similar starting stats and I would love to be 10.2 in a month! What do you think changed to make it click? I was doing well and then have just been stuck at 10.11 for months now
